The room was nice, comfortable and spacious, as was the bathroom and the view. I used the spa, which was a great experience.

For a 4 star exclusive hotel, the amenities weren't maintained as such. I used the yacuzzi and there was a leak in the bathroom. The pressure of the shower wasn't great and it was hard to maintain a good water temperature. The sofas smelled a little bit moldy, like if they weren't well maintained either.. Lastly, a day after my departure I was charged again for my minibar consumptions, while I actually had paid for them at check out...nobody checks?? Not proper of 4 star service..

Very good location, right at the beach, and not far from city center, casino and all facilities Big and extremely comfortable bed, nice sea view and high quality cosmetics in bathroom. Nice breakfast

For such a price, the hotel could provide a free parking for guests. Also, we have been a bit annoyed by the noise produced by the doors. Cheap rubber strip around the door might easily solve this problem and help guests to feel much better while sleeping instead of listening to slamming doors

Great location right next to main attractions of Alicante. Nice lobby area, nice breakfast court with an excellent view. In January not crowded at all. Decent gym with all you need to do proper weight training. Room with good quality furniture, comfortable main bed, decent bath/shower room. Good view on the marina from the 'city view' room.

There are some minor things that might be improved but I want to emphasise that those did not affect our great feelings about the stay. In January water in the pool is rather cold. Not too comfortable sofa bed. Gym might be equipped with a barbell as well. There is a construction side on one part of the hotel but it was not loud.

We had a superior double room overlooking the sea. It was very spacious, clean. We loved the tea/coffee facilities for first 'brew' of a morning. It was nice and quite that side and we got the morning sunshine. The receptionists were always very professional, kind and helpful.

We thought the Breakfast was very expensive so went elsewhere. The staff in the bar area weren't very forthcoming with drinks as in they didn't have more than two staff on at any one time and making cocktails takes a while. If you are only after a coffee etc. you have a long wait. One night we waited over 20 mins. so gave up as no sign of our coffees. We did inform the staff. Perhaps more staff would help the situation.

Very nice sized junior suite with excellent view over sea and the castle behind the old town. Nice and quiet too.....did not hear any other guests

When we booked, we were under the impression the hotel had a spa area. The photos we saw belong to an associated hotel next door and we had to pay €30 each to use their facilities

A hotel that sits between the marina and Alicante's main beach, just below the castle, very handy for the old town. Modern looking, in fact 50 this year! Big bedrooms with a comfy bed and decent facilities. Didn't eat in the hotel, plenty of varied and cheaper food options in town.

Bathroom we had was somewhat dated, hotel has all of it's guest information on-line, which is a pain if you just want a summary of the facilities, or to know what's on offer. Main swimming pool is in the shade for most of the day, which limits its usefulness as the season comes to an end. Big gripe, no excursions available - all booked up (not just via the hotel but in general), if you're going to want to get out and about, book before you go.

The location, the whole of the hotel was absolutely stunning, the room we had (business suite) was so beautiful and spacious. The staff were so kind and always smiley. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was one of the best parts of my trip. After reading the review I was abit worried, but actually staying here, its nothing like what I read. The beds are extremely comfortable. The room and the rest of the hotel was unbelievably clean. Beautiful hotel! Would definitely recommend this place. Close to the beach, marina, pier, food and also the airport bus stops right close to it as well which I was very happy about. (I can't share pictures as I only have videos)

There was actually nothing I didn't I like. It was a 10/10 stay.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel and would gladly give it 9 stars! The staff's friendliness and willingness to accommodate, like allowing an early check-in after a tiring flight, made the experience even better. The rooms were spacious, cozy, and impeccably clean. The variety of on-site facilities, including the spa, swimming pools, and terrace bars, ensured there was never a dull moment. The hotel's ideal location, a mere 5-minute stroll to the beach and a 10-minute walk to the city center, was a definite plus.

The only minor downside was the relatively small size of the swimming pools, but with so much else to enjoy, it hardly mattered.

Great location on the marina and beach front. It is a real landmark hotel in Alicante. We used the hotel as a base which was ideal. The hotel is clean and modern although it is an old building, it has been modernised.

The hotel restaurant is at the back of the reception area with no windows so we didn't use it and there are so many restaurants walking distance that it did not affect us. The design of the hotel means that the pool area is in the shade most of the day which is fine if you prefer to stay cool! There is a sun terrace on the other side of the hotel. The wifi in our room on kept dropping off, not great if you are dependent on it.

I have stayed in Alicante many times and the Melia is a fantastic addition to the collection of hotels I have stayed in. This time I travelled with my partner on our first holiday together so this was a special time. The hotel is situated right on the harbour and is a perfect place to relax with great views. The city and old town are right across the road with plenty of eateries to choose from. The hotel is very clean and luxurious. Staff were very kind and welcoming on check in and check out. The room was very clean and comfortable with fresh bedding and towels every day. Fantastic shower and a great selection in the mini bar. Bed very comfortable and I slept incredibly during our stay. The bar area is quaint and the staff were wonderful. Breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of variety and the view is the real highlight when having the morning coffee. The beach is so close and it was amazing to have that convenience. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

The only nick picks that I have is that the view from the room could have been better. The balcony is a great space but the view to the harbour was blocked by a nearby building. I understand that this is luck of the draw and we didn’t spend much time in the room , but it would have been nice to sit on the balcony and enjoy a drink when recovering from our long walks. The only other slight issue is that the pool area is very shaded and we couldn’t enjoy a fine bask in the sun. Again, this isn’t a major issue with the beach being so close by.
