Good facilites. Kitchen had stove tops, fridge and kitchenware. No oven. Breakfast included is a nice bonus! Cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juice. Good bathrooms, comfy beds. Lights auto switch off at 11pm, which we appreciated, stops people coming in late and turning on lights in big dorms.

You can walk into the center in about 40 minutes downhill. But its too far, and up too much of a steep hill for walking back from the city center to be enjoyable. However its very easy to catch the metro back, they run until 11pm. There are also buses. Then its only 5-10minutes walk to the hostel.

It’s a very busy hostel with lots of rooms what I liked about the hotel was the staff they helped me change rooms because someone was snoring quite loudly. It is a kitchen but you have to fight to have a space in the kitchen it’s small and there’s not much facilities, considering how many people stay there with only two burners a microwave no proper knives just basic utensils

It’s a half an hour, 40 minute walk downhill to get to the city centres so just be prepared for a big walk or you can take buses. Be mindful when you’re in the shower, the light kept turning off. It’s a motion sensor light. It doesn’t stay on for a long.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location on the Camino del Norte (camino arrow is across the street from front door). I think it Is one of the first hostel accommodation places as you come into Bilbao from Gernika. Modern decor. Free breakfast (juice, muffins, museli, cornflakes, chocolate flakes type cereal, toast with 4 types of jam and honey). Bunkroom had large locker (use own padlock or can borrow a lock from reception). Clean linen (make up own bed). Locker has a power point inside for charging. Has kitchen, dining and lounge areas (which also have charging points). Bunk bed was stable and comfortable (no problem if other person on other bunk turns over) and a privacy screen on one side. Bunkroom had huge windows with views of the Begoña Basilica and the windows open wide for fresh air. Bunkroom was quiet in the night. Eroski supermarket few minutes walk away. On-site hostel laundry not working but modern self service laundromat (El Calcetin Perdido) just near Eroski supermarket about 5min walk from hostel. €7 wash, €3 dry for 16mins. Showers on a timer, (but can push button again if need more water) bathroom light is also on a timer. It is a little up the hill from the old town but I didn't find the hill a problem. Great wifi. Used the correos luggage transfer service to /from this hostel and it went smoothly.

No dry place to change clothes inside of shower space but this wasn't too much of a problem. Sometimes the women's bathroom got messy but other times it was well cleaned (just lots of people staying so depends on the time each day that you use it). I never had to queue for toilet or shower, so that wasn't a problem either.

The staff was very welcoming, and the breakfast was nice, it's close to the city center and to the guggenheim museum (around 40 minutes walk)

The bed and the pillow were a bit uncomfortable, and there are only overhead showers (not great for when you don't want to get your hair wet). The showerd are timed, so you have to keep pressing them every 10-20 seconds to keep the water going, and the water wasn't very hot.

I quite liked the location. It was easy to access by bus from the train station even past 11pm, also just about 15 minutes walk through the beautiful park to the city centre. Staff are kind and helpful. The room was spacious and have lockers. Breakfast was great too.

It would have been perfect if each bed have bedside lamp, charging port and curtain. Also I would appreciate it if the lounge room were more brighter and have more airflow, it was dimly lit throughout the day.

I really liked the location, the breakfast, the lockers (using our own padlock) and the attention provided by the manager.

An employee's unwillingness to provide simple information about breakfast just because it's not her day at work. She asked me to ask another employee. It was my first day with coffee and I wasn't even aware of the other employee. However, I knew that she works at the Hostel and had just had her coffee. Water in the bathroom took a long time to heat up. And the beds could have curtains on each, producing greater privacy and less hassle when turning on lights.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Felt clean. Very pretty views of the city. Nice neighborhood; felt safe. Location was quiet. Very close supermarket. I slept really well and often have problems sleeping in new places. Good sized lockers and sockets in lockers so you can charge valuables while locked away.

Because of the location with the views and quietness, it could feel a bit out of it with no major restaurants nearby. I felt some of the clientele of the hostel could be slightly questionable (e.g. one woman wanted to use my laptop to apply for local housing), but I did not experience any actual issues and have experienced worse at another hostel in the city on a previous trip.

Huge common room and kitchen. AMAZING view of the Basilica and the gorgeous green hillsides. Great breakfast included. Market and public transportation three minutes away. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the Camino de Santiago pilgrims, sharing stories, playing music and singing. It was a lot of fun!

The hills! Lol. Bilbao is steep! Up, up, and up. The hostel is about 30 minutes from Old Town and The Alhambra, so put on comfy shoes and go out and explore!

It was easy to find. View of city was awesome. Looked small from the outside but it was good size. Glad they had a room, away from the dorms, for people to hang out. Decent kitchen and breakfast. Close to public transportation and grocery store.

They need to have a smoking area away from front door. It was raining that afternoon and evening. Our dorm was at the front of the building and the window was open. Cigarette smoke filled the room everytime someone was out there.

Whilst I walked the Camino, this Alberges is literally on the route just as you go down a hill into the city. For the little money I paid to have the chance of staying a couple on nights in the wonderful city of Bilbao was a treat. Please just be aware that there's some long steep stairs, and you go down and back up if you use the Alberge. Otherwise, all was great.

As per normal, the snorers. Some of the boystrus school children. But not a big deal, either of these issues.
