We recently spent two nights at the NH Collection Salamanca Palacio de Castellanos and were very happy with our stay. This is a charming hotel that makes use of a 15th century palace with service and room quality that live up to the NH Collection standards. Reservation was made through booking.com. Confirmation was received through email instantly. We were very well received upon arrival by friendly check-in staff. There is valet parking along the street just in front of the hotel, underground parking available (€20 per night) as well as luggage storage for early arrivals and those with late departures. You'll find is a large lobby and common area as well as an outside terrace area just outside the property. There is a hotel restaurant available. The property is located in the heart of the Historic Centre of Salamanca with World Heritage attractions and other historic places for sightseeing in all directions. There are parks, shopping as well as plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bars nearby as well. You can pretty much walk everywhere from this location. We had a suite during this stay at NH Collection which included a downstairs seating room with nice sofa, fridge, espresso machine, kettle, TV and work desk as well as an upstairs bedroom and bathroom, both of which were spacious. Importantly, the bed was super comfortable, affording great sleep. Bathroom toiletries and hair dryer were available, shower water pressure just fine. Lastly, house cleaning during our stay was just fine.

Parking space was a bit challenging for medium sized SUV, departing early we had to exit the underground car park on our own as no valet available at 6am. It was a bit challenging but doable. Just something to think about for those driving and planning very early departure.

Location near Catedral, building, staff efficiency and helpfulness, large modern bathroom with what I needed., ability for late check out made possible. Menu a bit small with few local foods, but main meal was good (chicken, rice, salad). Taxi arrived to hotel quickly, not easy in Salamanca. Answers to my emails were quick before and when using printing service, and after. Lobby lovely with water available, renovated building. Room air was comfortable and quiet as I shut off conditioner at night to sleep, opened window, with no street noise at back...a big plus as at many hotels sleepimg w noisy or stale air or street noise is an isse.

Bed was harder than I like, room was compact so hard to open my suitcase =) but it had a closet and large bathroom, adequate bed for 1 small person, so 1 or 2 days is fine. Price for breakfast was a little high for what was offered, similar to Plaza Major and the rising costs of food in any case. It seemed internet signal was a bit weak if I compare to next hotel (using Whatsapp). Restaurant was closed but small cafe menu to eat on nice terrasa or in bar and main dish, generous. Not really with local foods I wanted to eat...that I can recall. I had to work so needed to stay in room, amd eat there but all restaurants are nearby for tourists who have time =).

This hotel was one of the top hotels we've stayed at anywhere in recent years. The staff were extremely helpful with our arrival and parking of our electric car in an electric charging point bay within the hotel car park. The staff at reception and in the breakfast, room were very pleasant. This hotel is located within the historic quarter of Salamanca and a short walk from the wonderful plaza mayor. We stayed at the hotel during Semana Santa (Holy Week) and it was the perfect location to see the street processions and events. Although our room was modern in style the large central atrium of the hotel retained its historic design with tall pillars supporting the high roof. Historically this may have been open to the skies but now had a glass roof which made it light and airy. A great place to sit and relax. I believe the building dates back to the 15th century.

The cost of staying at this hotel was at the top end of our budget. It was probably more expensive because we were there during holy week. For some reason I couldn't book directly with NH Hotel Group as I couldn't log in so I made the reservation with booking.com. Therefore, I couldn't benefit from the 5% discount. However, the booking.com reservation process was smooth and reliable.

We stayed in the junior suite for two nights and it was perfect for our family. The hotel is beautiful and really well located. Most of main attractions are in very close and there are many nice restaurants near by but its quite during the night. We got a very good restaurant tip from the hotel. Shout ou to Elda (Front desk) who helped us a lot when I called the hotel and needed some information. Because of her we decided to stay there and booked one more night. Next time we go back to Salamanca we will stay there again!

The hotel need to upgrade the doors. They are old and not sound proof so we can hear people coming in and out of their rooms and some are very noisy so its very annoying if you are trying to have a nice night of sleep.

Location was excellent, the hotel staff helpful, the double bed mattress pretty comfortable. The room itself was not very big, but spacious enough. We took a room with a view, and the view on the monastery was nice. The breakfast was OK - a regular hotel level.

The room with a view looks at a rather noisy street. We used ear plugs, and it solved the issue. We were provided with a parking on premises, which is nice but a bit expensive. Overall it was a bit expensive but pleasant stay.

No parking .when we checked in late were told no spaces so parked in good nearby secure public car park .Next morning different told us they had reserved space in their car park !

The hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful first of all. It was very convenient to park the car to unload after a 700km journey, and the concierge parked the car for us. The reception lady was very helpful, putting us in two nice rooms and recommended restaurants nearby. Rooms were comfy, clean, and breakfast was excellent too. A very pleasant stay.

the gym was quite small/ limited, and was very hot.

This hotel is beautiful - a 15th century palace. It is a great mix of old and new. The room was modern and clean, the bed comfortable. There is a safe and a fridge. Bathroom is spacious with nice toiletries and a good hairdryer. Breakfast buffet is very good with a great selection of items - fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs prepared to order, breads, pastries, juices etc. The location is perfect. Easy to drive to by car (there is valet parking so no trouble with narrow garages) and perfect to walk to all the sights and restaurants.

Location, just 5 mins from the cathedral and under 10 mins from Plaza Major. Staff were very helpful. Room extremely comfortable.

The taxi driver dropped me at the entrance but there was a flight of about 10 steps, which I had to carry my case up on my own. If you've mobility issues - or a heavy case - call ahead as the reception staff will help you, if they know you are on your way.

Well organised and very beautiful in the heart of Salamanca. Nice stafd good WiFi connection. Silence and cleanliness are two characteristics I really appreciated. Comfortable rooms. Fantastic breakfast with local products and more traditional continental products.

It's difficult to reach it by car. We had some small issues at the time of retrieving the car because only the staff could park and move the car.
