Among the best hotels in all of my travels. Location overlooking the plaza mayor was fantastic. Staff were the best ! They saw we had wine in the room ... and without our asking ... we found 2 wine glasses ! And one of the staff, Paloma, helped us find my lost cell phone (which turned out to be hiding in our room) .. and Blanca and Javier were great too. Room was just the right size. Modern bathroom and all of the lighting tasteful. Only 10 rooms so try to get one with a balcony. Altogether a modern place without that hip-eco-nonsense that often comes with modern places. We stayed in fabulous fairly expensive on-the-plaza-places in Spain but this was our favorite hotel in our entire trip.

Staying inside the Plaza has been a dream since I studied abroad many years ago, but I always thought it would be too expensive or difficult to find a good room. I could not be more wrong! This room was exactly as advertised and more. A perfect view of the Plaza, extremely accommodating and helpful staff (in both English & Spanish), included coffee and some sodas in the complimentary minibar, and very, very clean.

Truly, the only drawback was the bathrooms have partially frosted glass walls, so privacy on the toilet is not the best. The bathroom was very clean & functional though.

Not keen on the mostly glass bathroom wall which made you feel a little exposed but the bathroom itself was lovely

The location can't be beat! The staff were all amazing - they gave us restaurant recommendations, filled our fridge with complimentary soda and water daily, and even left a note and champagne for our last evening!

Aa mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom is definitely weird... it is glass enclosure with a frosted panel around the middle. You can pretty much see inside the bathroom from anywhere in the room.

The location is perfect for the main attractions in the old town. The room was modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and a good size. The eating choices were extensive and nearby.

Life in the Plaza Mayor goes on into the small hours of the morning most nights. The windows cannot be left open if quiet is the preference. The aircon was of very limited practical use.

Better soundproofing of windows. We stayed on a Saturday night and did not sleep well at all. After bars had closed, 12.30pm, the noise from groups, singing and shouting as they returned from nights out was awful. The square was then cleaned by machinery at 6am and cafe chairs dragged out at 7am. We would never stay here again at weekend or durin the busy season

The best location possible. The attention and service was exceptional and they were very available to assist you, especially Javier. The room looked simple but at the same time elegant, comfortable and cozy. Surprisingly, they gave us some drinks with which we celebrated the Salamanca week festivities.

Very loud noises penetrate the room but are not uncomfortable at all.

This place is tremendous! The location on the Plaza Mayor is incredible. The staff are amazing. the rooms delightful. The Bathrooms count as one of Wonders of the Modern World. The attention to detail demonstrated by the hotel and the staff in relation to service and amenities should serve as an example to other hoteliers everywhere. Leaving this review is delightful, as it will encourage others to book. We will certainly stay here when we visit Salamanca again.

Stunning atmospheric location, exceptionally clean and comfortable, and without doubt the best front desk team we have ever had the pleasure to meet ( and we have stayed in some great hotels around the world). Blanca and Javier made our stay very special with their personal service. They felt like friends who would go out of their way to make our holiday a memorable one. some great little touches especially helping us out with a delivery we needed to make and of course the unexpected. final evening champagne. Thank you both so much.

Our plaza view room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed. The decor is light and modern while retaining some of the building’s original details. Soundproofing is good (although it still can be noisy at night). Great location right on Plaza Mayor with lots of cafes at the front door.

You have to keep the shutters closed and sacrifice the view to have any privacy. There’s no lobby to speak of so feels more like an apartment building than a hotel.
