The location is great and the courtyard simply wonderful

We booked a twin room last minute, but when we arrived we were given a double and told that the housekeeping staff had left, so they couldn't give us a twin. We asked for an upgrade in order to have a larger bed, but the receptionist told us she wasn't authorised to give that to us and it had to be a manager. But of course there was no manager on site and she wasn't going to call one. So we stayed in a double on the ground floor which was actually very beautiful...but ended up being extremely noisy in the morning as the street facing the cathedral is heavily trafficked.

Part of the actual historic Gonzales Byass Winery building and looking directly onto the Jerez Cathedral which is stunning. The rooftop pool is small but exclusive and has the most amazing view over the cathedral and alcazar, and offers an afternoon bar service. A perfect place to cool off after a hot day sightseeing and enjoy a relaxing cocktail while watching the sunset. We booked a premium room and were very happy with the standard and décor and the bathroom. We would highly recommended enjoying an evening meal in the hotel’s Pedro Nolasco Restaurant. This is situated in an open outdoor courtyard with direct cathedral views and surrounded by trees and landscaping, old stone walls and beautiful lighting. A magical and romantic setting. Not only was the food sophisticated and modern in its take on Spanish cuisine, but the service was attentive and discrete with wine recommendations as well as assistance on the menu and food selection. The same excellent restaurant service was present for the breakfast service demonstrating excellent management of this outstanding restaurant. The breakfast options were a la carte and simple but delicious, and in keeping with the boutique hotel status. Delicious coffee put a smile on our faces as did the freshly squeezed orange juice.

Nothing!

Location was excellent, very central, short walk from the shops, restuarants, and, of course, the Tio Pepe winery. Staff was also excellent, super helpful and informative. The restaurant was very good, and we ate both breakfasts and also we ate lunch there one day. Our suite was spacious, well designed, and very comfortable.

There were two very small issues. Unfortunately, we only had a view of an internal small patio with very little light coming into the room. Not a huge deal given that we were out all day anyway. The only other small issue was the pillows. They looked magnificent on the bed, but they were very difficult to use given their shape, size, and consistency. Other than that, we had a perfect stay. One suggestion, the hotel needs to warn guests who are driving to the property that they will need to turn into a road that is very clearly labelled DO NOT ENTER. It is a one-way road, and drivers will need to drive into it the wrong way.

Gorgeous boutique stylish hotel in a perfect location next to the castle and cathedral and easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. We loved the rooftop pool and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was al la carte and really well presented and delicious presented in their gardens. Would definitely recommend and hoping to return next year with my husband.

Nothing we loved it. Only thing that could improve is for the roof top bar next to the pool to be open earlier although the ladies did bring drinks up on request.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. Modern finish in an antique setting overlooking the Cathedral. Interiors were great…

Don’t turn up for your one night stay on a Sunday would be my advice. There was no one to explain the facilities..just one poor girl managing a queue of guests to check in. She did it brilliantly! And there was no food. The restaurant was closed and there were only 2 small bottles of water in the mini bar. We’d like to have had a glass of wine on the stunning terrace but there was no one on duty and no shops open…. It spoilt what should have been a fabulous experience. Monday all was perfect but we had to leave after breakfast. Breakfast was fabulous!!

The breakfast was delightful. Good choices and very good service. The area where breakfast was served had a superb view of the cathedral. The location of the hotel itself was excellent. Next door to the cathedral and the Alhambra literally 5 minutes walk. Restaurant and many of the bodegas if you wished to visit were also very close. If arriving by train getting a taxi to the hotel is very inexpensive as is a taxi to the airport.

Nice location next to the cathedral and alcazar. Personnel at the reception always friendly and helpful. I imagine that the pool area would be great in the summer season. Clean room with big bathroom. The gym was also nice, although very small.

The room was rather small and with basic amenities. At this price, one could expect e.g. bathrobes & slippers and a minibar. At the reception, they could tell a little more about visit options at the winery. You wouldn't really notice being in a "sherry hotel" without knowing. Maybe some tastings to hotel guests etc. would be nice. The restaurant was closed during our stay and we didn't manage to book an English tour of the winery.

Lovely property - large airy rooms and huge comfy beds. The roof terrace is a lovely place to hang out, with magnificent views. The breakfast was particularly charming, served in a pretty garden.

Although the roof terrace is lovely, the swimming pool is only about 3 foot deep, so impossible to swim. There is also only room for 3 x sun loungers (and a few deckchairs). Location wise, the hotel is a short walk to a local square - so central, but not right bang in the action.

Beautiful unique hotel in a wonderful location. the rooms were tasteful, the beds were very comfy and the rooms were quiet. the terrace was a lovely place to relax. the staff were all wonderful and breakfast was lovely. will definitely visit again!

shame they didnt give a discount for those staying at the hotel for the tour of the bodega. Feels like the hotel should have a few parking spaces available for those staying as there seems to be the space. There was a strange drain smell in our rooms but it did quickly go when we opened the windows. be great to have tea / coffee facilities in the room. Sadly the restaurant was closed when we visited. all small things really, didnt take away from the visit and was so close to being perfect.

Tio Pepe is an experience from the moment you approach it with the car ( on the small ramp just next to the Jerez Cathedral) - to the moment you visit the Bodega, garden, roof terrace with pool with Cathedral and Alcazar view. Exceptional! the hotel is impeccable, minimalistic, very stylish. room was super comfortable and big - with our window giving directly to the cathedral and lovely square with palms and birds great bed and lining, decent bathroom, breakfast fresh made, with beautiful porcelain and tasty food. I recommend a visit in the bodega and Gonzales Byas grounds - a super experience!

Only minor point was the organization of breakfast, hotel was fully booked, so all tables taken, and the very lovely restaurant staff was running to serve everything at once - which made waiting time a bit long. but all in all - food was superb and good variety, beautifully served.
