The hotel was ideally located and relatively easy to find. We were travelling for my wife’s birthday, and the staff marked this at breakfast with a cake and candle which was a nice touch. We had a junior suite with rooftop views across the city - spectacular! The history of the property is interesting with its Irish connections, but the old city wall passes right through the building and can be seen in reception and also ascending in the lift to the first floor via glass panels! Nice touch. Car parking is good.

A lot of stairs to the rooftop suite. My knees, not great at the best of times, took a pounding. Breakfast was nicely presented, but in my view, not really for the Brits. I don’t mean I was expecting a cooked fry up, but cold cured meat and bread isn’t my bag, and although there was yoghurt and dried fruit, it wasn’t great. I didn’t starve though and there was nice toasted bread and cheese, which you had to request.

A very well located hotel in a wonderful old palace featuring some stunning original features. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, in particular with a recommendation for a great local tapas bar. Our room was a very good size and parking is available on site. Very good value for money too.

The place could do with a lick of paint here and there. Despite our room being very well sized, it had some very tight spots between the bed and tv unit etc. Also, clear directions on how to access the car park would be very much appreciated, we found it almost by accident after getting lost.

Hotel Palacio Garvey, is situated in a nice location for being a tourist in Jerez. Leave the hotel, turn left and a short walk along this street will take you to numerous restaurants and Tapas bars. The hotel is quite an interesting layout although we were a little disappointed with our room and view, however you get what you pay for I guess. Our friends had a Junor suite and this was far better, in size and street views. The room was clean and tidy and housekeeping was 100% Breakfast was more than adequate and set us up for the day.

There was a strange odour upon entering our room. It was difficult to identify what and where this was coming from, but I guess we just became familiar with it. Parking is a bit of a drag, but we found a parking lot a short distance away which charged €7 for 24 hrs which was fine.

The location of this hotel was very central, no traffic noise problem however. The room was big and airy. The staff was helpful and friendly. The car park of the hotel was just behind the main building. There was a good book shop just round the corner where you could buy i.e. a tourist guide on Jeres in English.

During our stay it was very cold outside during the nights, close to zero. The lobby and a breakfast room (restaurant) were pretty cold but you could manage with pullovers ans scarfes:) The room temperature was higher and ok.

It was spotlessly clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We liked it so much we booked on our return trip. Room was perfect size, light and airy with lovely view over garden. Décor was stylish - though I personally would update the décor of the dining facilities. Had room service and it was quick and food was delicious. Value for money was amazing.

The pipework can be a little noisy - but appreciate it is an old building. Outside area was a real bonus but could be smartened up a bit. Car park was very tight- but I was very grateful to find car parking in Jerez so maybe this is a like!

Our room (number 2) was spacious, light, comfortable, and overlooks a small plaza planted with orange trees and hosting a small bar. The hotel is located within minutes of some of the liveliest parts of the city, great for morning coffees and evening entertainment. However, that does mean some noise, so if you're sensitive to noise perhaps a room at the back of the building would be better. Breakfast is part buffet and part table service, with eggs cooked to order if desired. There were no other guests on one of the days we were there, so our table was effectively the buffet!

We booked a Junior Suite. The room was very spacious , comfortable and quiet. It looked over a courtyard at the back. The bathroom was huge and the shower was the best one that we had out of all the hotels that we stayed in while touring Andalucia by train. Great location too; close to the cathedral, alcazar and several bodegas. The staff were friendly and helpful. An all round excellent stay.

I liked the location. The staff were very nice. The room and bathroom were very clean.the bed was comfortable.

The pillows were hard as bricks so i did not get a good sleep. The next night they gave me softer pillows. I also did not like that the breakfast was not buffet style. Whilst it was a good breakfast, we had to wait for the waiter to keep serving everyone. The bedroom was a bit small.

This is a unique hotel in a fantastic location in Jerez. Our superior studio was large with high opening windows to the square. There are two sofas as well as a large bed, desk & chair, television lamps etc . The bathroom was huge with plentiful towels & products available. The outlook & location were absolute winners.

Although not available in all European hotels, the ability to make tea or coffee in the room would be much appreciated and preferable to a minibar. The decor is rather strange, from an era I'm not sure of and needing a refresh & update to complement the lovely building & location. Assistance with luggage up the narrow flights of stairs after the lift would also be appreciated.

The central location

Lighting in our room was poor - we were in room 8 The room took a long time to warm up (our visit was in February) and there was no heating in the bathroom Whilst there was a window in the room, not looked out onto a nearby walk, so there was poor natural light in the room There were no tea / coffee making facilities Whilst there was a lobby on our floor where one could sit, it was really gloomy and badly lit The sculpture of the dog cocking it's leg!
