Easy to travel to using bus and metro (metro station directly outside the hotel). Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We felt valued and appreciated as customers. It was my birthday and enjoyed a free room upgrade and treats in my room. Room was spacious, clean, and had a great view of the city below. Bed was comfortable. Shower was fantastic. Pool and spa facilities were good. 24hour access to gym was brilliant. We’ve been on loads of city breaks, but particularly enjoyed our stay here thanks to this hotel and its brilliant staff. Christina (on hotel reception) gave us a map of Madrid and talked us through some must see spots which we were very grateful for.

We liked everything. If we had to suggest something it would be to extend the pool opening hours.

It’s located close to everything

We booked a king Deluxe bed and they put two twins together with a king sheets. And there was gap in the middle of the bed. Also we had a delay from their end to check in cause the rooms were not ready. They offered a free drink to their bar and they said we can have one drink whatever we want and when we went to the bar the served us whatever the wanted and it was an open bottle of champagne that the server was touching with his fingers in the tip of the bottle. Other than that the staff was super nice and helpful.

We had a large connecting family room - it was beautiful, clean and comfortable. It was on same floor as the lovely indoor pool. Breakfast was perfect with all you'd want, the lobby bar was good and the lobby check in was beautful. Kind staff and the hotel manager Sonia gave us some great tips on what to do in our next stop Valencia. You could walk to many of the best spots in Madrid and it was next to the metro stop. Great food, shopping and sites on the doorstep.

Nothing! The pool hours for kids could be longer or have an early morning session.

Fantastic location on Plaza de Espana, so very close to the centre of Madrid. Upgraded to a Premium room from Deluxe on arrival so that was a nice touch from the hotel. Royal Palace is a 5-minute walk plus Parque de la Montana, shops and restaurants. The location meant we did not need to use public transport apart from visiting the Santiago Bernabeu via Metro (15mins). It is a beautiful, clean city and felt very safe (including on the Metro system.)

Hotel was expensive for the stay but only what you would have to pay for such a central location in the heart of many capital cities. However, this is balanced out by the hotel bar and restaurant being reasonable and we found eating and drinking out in the city less expensive than many decent restaurants where we live in Surrey and certainly cheaper than central London!

Good size, clean, modern bedroom with a very large bathroom with separate shower and bath. Bed was enormous (2m wide) and very comfortable. Staff very helpful and provided good restaurant recommendations. Very extensive breakfast spread with lots of options. Good value for money as well in our view given the location, quality of accommodation and breakfast.

Restaurant is only open Friday/Saturday night, but there are plenty of good options nearby even if arriving late. It's about a 35 minute walk over to the big three art galleries, but a metro station is right outside if you don't fancy the walk. And it's a short walk to the Royal Palace.

The buffet breakfast had a lot of choice (actually too much!) with a lot of healthier options. The spa facilities were really good – good sized pool and sauna – and the massage we had was very relaxing. There was a rooftop area with lots of sun beds – but there had been no effort to actually make this area appealing decor-wise to relax in, and there was no umbrellas for shade. We didn't get a chance to use the gym for our short stay, but the one morning we decided to it was closed for refurbishment! It would have been nice to have known this was going to be closed in advance when we checked in.

There were a couple of minor things regarding the room that I mentioned to reception on checkout, but these didn't affect our stay. The main issue we had was not being told about a music event in the plaza right outside our room on one of the nights – which we had paid extra to have the room overlooking the plaza – we would have appreciated being told about the event (which went on until around 1am) when we were offered the room at an additional cost, so we could have made an informed decision whether we wanted to have this room knowing the event was going on until the early hours. Being our last night happened to have made that worse!

Couple things i would improve: - pool: water too cold, not pleasent to use it in winter - room: is impossible to use chromecast or telefone/tablet mirroring on the tv, the software seems to old or not configured properly. That’s a pity - room: i took the deluxe room, but it was still super small, barely can open my bag. The same for the bathroom, i would expect something slightly bigger - food service: i know from a 24/7 service the quality cannot be the best, but still for a 25€ pizza, getting the supermarket frozen one was definitly not in line with a 5* service

The staff greets you with a smile and efficiency, and that is the combination I have come to expect when staying at a luxury property. Room was big and bright, with lovely views to Plaza de España. Breakfast is delicious, with great variety, and platters of cut fruit which is something I enjoy very much.

The one thing that was a glitch, a bathroom malfunction, was resolved quickly and seamlessly the moment I notified front desk, so I have to say there was nothing to complain about this property.

Very well located for the touristic places in Madrid, comfortable and well appointed rooms, extremely attentive and pleasant staff who really go out of their way to make guests happy. The breakfast buffet is absolutely exceptional - very much recommended!

Only one very minor point - each room has a rather complicated switch to show housekeeping whether or not to clean the room, it is not clear how it works and it’s very easy to switch to “Do not disturb” without realizing. We had that problem but the hotel staff sorted things out extremely well. Personally I’d recommend the old fashioned “Do not disturb” label that you can put on the door if needed.

We couldn't get the room we booked with a large double bed or so they say, lovely lady on reception but I felt she is pressurised to up sell the rooms and we got a suitable room with city view & balcony for e140 extra for the 3 nights. Room was lovely and had everything we needed. note the lovely staff come knocking around 6pm to see if you need any additions? The breakfast is 7-11 and has everything you need on any dietary requirements so fill up before you head out.

Bar prices were a bit steep at 6 euros for a small beer or glass of wine average out and about was e3.5.
