The hotel is located in an amazing area - an elegant neighbourhood really close to Retiro park. The staff was nice and the room was clean and reasonably sized. Flat iron, ironing board, safe and kettle were available in the room.

For guests not travelling alone, the glass bathroom door did not provide the best privacy soundwise.

The location is perfect, right next to the Prado and important museums, a 15 min walk up to the centre, the park is 2 min away. It was quiet at night. The staff were all super kind and helpful. The building is just beautiful, with art deco doors and windows. Lots of wonderful places to eat, out of the touristy area . I absolutely loved my stay, was sad to leave and for sure will stay there again.

Great location right next to the Retiro and within walking distance to the city centre and Salamanca. Rooms were clean and spacious, very quiet too, with everything you would need for a short (or even slightly longer) stay. Great breakfast buffet in the morning. Friendly and helpful staff.

There was a slightly odd smell in the bathroom my first night, though this was gone afterwards.

Location is very good, a quiet residential area but close to the main art galleries of Madrid. This is the third time that we have stayed in the hotel purely because of its location. All the rooms seem the same, not very stylish but comfortable enough, some are just bigger than others and some have better views. This time we were less lucky as we had a view over a small shady inner courtyard, the rooms at the front overlooking the street are the best in my view. I particularly like the breakfast, lots of choice and excellent, helpful staff who are always cheerful.

Room keys were really temperamental - a minor thing but a bit of a nuisance! Other residents had the same problem. On our departure day we couldn’t get back into our room to collect our bags and the lady on the reception desk told us they weren’t our room keys and we must have picked someone else’s keys up!? Obviously we hadn’t done that! It absolutely didn’t spoil our stay - but maybe something that needs addressing for future guests.

Great location near all city center sightseeings and big Retiro park. Very quiet place. Breakfast is really good.

VERY strange decision to put sink not in the bathroom, but near the door in the room. I understand that it is because of the size, but doesn't hygienic enough. The room isn't very clean - dust and hairs in some corners, and couple of days there were women's hair on the floor (after maid who changed the sheets, I guess). The water wasn't renewed.

- amazing location, close to all most important Madrid Museums ( the Prado Museum, Reina Sofía, Thyssen, etc.) and the Retiro Parc and the Gran Via. Excellent location, just a few metres from the Ritz, to catch buses, also the free buses. - the breakfast staff is amazing : Virginia and Maria prepare a visually and tastefully great spread with sweet and salty produce, fresh cut fruits, great viennoiserie, bread, cold cuts, cheeses, smoothies, Chia and banana, and more. They also cook amazing dishes, changing every day (tortilla de patatas, roasted potatoes, cooked zucchini, roasted tomatoes, etc.). Not only the food is delicious and well presented, but the breakfast halls are absolutely clean and well organised. The breakfast staff has always a nice word for every guest and they are key to having a splendid experience. I don't know how much they are paid but they definitely deserve a raise. - great to offer free water in the room and at the reception, especially during the very hot summer days.

- I knew before arriving, from previous comments, that the rooms were relatively small but comfortable and with all needed for a little holiday.

Staff were really friendly and checking in/out was straightforward. Breakfast was reasonably priced and there was plenty of choice! The room was big and very clean and comfortable with air conditioning that could be controlled ourselves.

Particularly noisy guests with children on our corridor, adults chatting loudly outside our room and children running up and down the corridor at all hours. It's great that the hotel is family friendly and this complaint is not one of the hotel, just other guests that weren't very considerate! But perhaps something to bear in mind for guests that want a quieter stay.

We had a pleasant stay here. The hotel is slightly away from the bustling center, making it a more calm and peaceful place (also thanks to presence of Retiro close by), however many points of interest can still be reached by foot if you are a good walker. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and the staff were very nice. We also appreciated the hotel's interior style.

View from windows on both sides of the room was into the well between house walls, so almost no view, but we were lucky enough to be on the top floor with a view into the sky. Not a real issue, as we were away for most of the day.

The location of this hotel provides superb walking access to many areas of Madrid that you'll want to see on foot. The location is quiet since the hotel is tucked away a bit. The room was clean and windows provided light as well as black out shades. The weather was a bit cold the days we stayed and since the room was small, it was nice to hang out in a spacious side 'library/lounge' room away from lobby entry and check-in area. Nice feature compared to most other hotel stays in our EU travels. This side-room had coffee available during day, which worked well with our jet-lag! The breakfast was wonderful and the eating area was vary spacious to indulge in wide variety of choices (also good for jet lag!).

We found the room quite small, with little closet and walk-space -- good for a couple of nights, but we didn't unpack because of this tightness. Common in Europe of course, but we've seen bigger at comparable price.
