March 2023

The room was huge as was the bathroom. Very comfortable bed (not too hard which is what I don’t like). The hotel bar/restaurant was pleasant. The location was great.

Only one thing marred an otherwise awesome stay- the morning I check out, it was 6:30 am and I needed to get to the airport. I made the mistake of checking out and THEN was just going to grab some juice from the breakfast room (I paid for breakfast). But because I checked out first, the desk clerk said in an unfriendly manner that they would charge me for the juice, that I should have gotten it before I checked out. Why be like that?

It was the second time we stayed at this hotel and the experience is consistent. The hotel is centrally located and you can easily walk to Plaza Sol, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor and other city attractions. Plentty of restaurants, bars, cafe and shopping around. The staff at the hotel is nice and helpful and the decoration is funky and hip. The rooms have space and the showers are large which is great.

The inner rooms are not as nice as the exterior ones and there is no natural light coming in so it feels a little stuffy. I ahev stayed in the hotel before in different rooms. Ask for a room facing Calle Leon - although it faces the street the double windows are enough to keep the room quite and you get a small french balcony with plentty of light.

The hotel is located in the center, few steps from Puerta del Sol, but is very calm though Madrid and its streets are very crowded. The ambience in general is cool. Variety of restaurants and shops very close to the hotel.

We were told that the breakfast is available at 11h and we went on Monday at 10:35 am, it was closed. When we asked about the reason they said in midweek we close at 10:30. When we explained that we were told that its until 11h, the staff answered you can see signs in the elevator that it closed at 10h30. We got no help until we asked to talk to the manager. At this point they allowed us to enter however we were not served, and we were not well welcomed. This was a bit annoying as we had paid for the breakfast and we were not asking for free services.

Nice hotel, with a modern look, very good location, good internet, good breakfast available between 5 to 11 am! Carrefour express right downstairs, lots of restaurants around, very close to Prado museum. Over all a good experience.

Even if linen were embroided, I rather preferred better quality pillows and some small repairs taken care of. Anyway, nothing major, but some light bulbs could be replaced. Only one was working out of three in the bathroom lamp. Some pieces of furniture have awkward design, very small bedside tables and instead bedside lamps for reading there was a big bulk lamp over the bed above the pillows. A little bit dangerous for the persons taller than the average ones.

April 2023

The location was fantastic with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, and our room to the back was quiet at night. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety.

The aircon didn’t work very well until we mentioned it to reception, and were told it doesn’t work in April because they’re an eco friendly hotel. (Unfortunately the room became stuffy and just opening the window before going to sleep didn’t help). However despite being eco friendly, the in-room tea and coffee station only had one use paper cups which leaked, and they still provided mini toiletries. The shower had low water pressure and took a while to get hot.

The hotel was very nice, modern, pretty and clean, the location is superb - a quiet place in the center of Madrid from where you can easily reach everything, including Museo del Prado and Atocha station. There is a number of places to dine out nearby and the hotel itself also has a fine menu to offer in the evening. The bar and terrace are very cozy. The rooms have everything you may need and the service is very helpful and hospitable. I also liked that a week before the stay they sent me a questionnaire to comment on the needs / wishes regarding the stay.

I had a credit card issue that arose a couple of days before my stay which is why my reservation became contingent on the availability of the rooms at the day of arrival, as if I booked the same day and not a month in advance. The contact that texted me via Booking was not flexible on that, unfortunately, although I explained my circumstances and opportunities extensively. It all turned out well as the hotel is quite big, so eventually there was no problem accommodating me, I was given a very comfortable and beautiful room and the staff acted very kindly and politely, it is just that the incident made me feel nervous until I got there. So, maybe a pre-arrival service could be improved a bit.

The room was very quiet because it faced an inner courtyard, which was a big plus for me. The staff was helpful and friendly. Good and intimate restaurant. Possibility to leave our luggage in a special room at the reception.

I expected the room to be more beautiful. The price was very high due to the May 1st holiday (160 euros per night)

For us the warm welcome and great service was a big plus! Thank you Bermejo and Robeu for your kind explanations of the surrounding as well as for having our room de-smoked upon arrival. We loved your presence at the desk each day! Also: breakfast was fabulous! Lounge was very welcoming and a place to cool down on hot summer days. Location was ideal, near all the museums. Parking space was great too. And great cleaning staff!

One of the elevators could only carry two people.

Everything was great, except the surpise I got when I found out I was charged for what I thought were complimentary snacks. All the staff was very helpful. The women at the front desk did a great job. The fact that they spoke English well really helped.

English signs are always nice. All of Spain would do well to post things in English. I wish you could nail down a good price for the entire stay. Some days it was a great deal other days it was a little expensive by Spanish standards.
