This is our second time of staying at Hotel San Jorge, the gentleman receptionist who greeted us on arrival at around 1830 was cheerful, friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally situated for the Ferry Port and is only a 15 minute walk from the marina and an area with lots of bars and cafes. The bedroom is clean, with comfortable beds and (since our previous visit) a new Grundig Smart TV; the towels are large (Brittany Ferries could learn something here - their towels are tiny). Breakfast is self service with coffee from "Nespresso - type" pods and a good selection of meats and cheeses and juices. Good value and a secure underground garage with large parking bays.

Secure underground parking (€10 per night) via back of the hotel. Situated on a roundabout with bus & tram stops very close, so travel to Bilbao centre was easy. Tram more expensive & takes cards; bus cheaper but needs cash. Good breakfast buffet, included in price. Comfortable room either bathroom. Shower over bath, temperature sensitive. Some restaurants nearby, although many tapas/pintxos, & not open evenings. Kañonaza OK. Also Krunch in Santurtzi (15 minute walk or 1 stop on tram). Neither were what we really wanted (reasonably/priced menu), but ok.

Good size room, comfortable bed, ideal location for an overnight stay prior to boarding the ferry for our return trip to Portsmouth. Adequate breakfast, with good coffee. Very helpful receptionist. Secure underground parking cost €10 for one night. A few cafes/bars within a few minutes' walk, more in the centre though we didn't get that far (20 minute walk downhill) Would book this hotel again.

The bathroom could do with a hand rail by the bath for safe access, as there is a step up then you have to step down into the sunken bath.

A great stopover hotel en route to the ferries. Clean with basic breakfast. We have stayed before and knew what to expect.....except that I forgot about the €10 charge for parking overnight in the underground car park.

No restaurant at the hotel and after staying twice - I still cannot recommend any local restaurant for an evening meal.......we just never found anything to our liking within walking distance from the San Jorge.

Fab location, staff very helpful and pleasant, most staff spoke with very good English. Lovely clean large room. There are convenience shops near by and lots of lovely bars to have a drink or to eat at.

The room was overlooking the main street so it was a little noisy. It was a very warm evening and the room was very warm, maybe a fan would be of some use as when we opened the windows you could hear the noise of the busy traffic.

This is the nicest most helpful hotel we have ever stayed in. We had a very warm welcome and all our needs and requests were exceeded. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was really good. But the best part was the staff. They are all so friendly and helpful. If I had a hotel I’d like to think I could run it like this. The car park was brilliant and secure and very reasonably priced. We arrived unexpectedly early and within a short time our room was made ready without any fuss at all. The hotel is excellently situated in the town but it the rooms were not noisy at all. All hotel managers should take a visit!! We’ll certainly go back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Great place to stay. Staff great very good english. Clean, spacious room very comfortable. Good continental breakfast, nice hot coffee. Bars and restaurants very near to hotel and a mini supermarket. Only 15 minutes from Brittany Ferry's port in Bilbao.

Just a heads up, it's a very busy place and quite a lot of traffic noise when your room is at the front, nice and quiet at the back.

Good location for one night stay before ferry. Basic but for above purpose....all was good. Secure parking was appreciated but at 17‰ the cost of our room for the night, it is relatively expensive: but street parking may have been impossible nearby anyway....depending on arrival time. Staff friendly and bilingual...which always helps. Room was clean.....beds (2 X singles) comfortable and warm room on a cold night.....as above.....great for a one night stay before the ferry. We easily found a small restaurant nearby for a basic meal ..... but overall, not a part of Bilbao that I would chose for a longer stay.

As a stopover is was fine.....my only "non like" was the coffee machine used at breakfast.....the coffee just was not hot enough for me. A small complaint overall and would not stop me using the San Jorge again.

Room was larger than expected although bathroom was a little small. Bed was a King size or very large double & very comfortable. Parking for my car was very secure. Exceptional choice of Continental style food at breakfast, as much as you wanted. Marked up as 2 star but have stayed in worse 4 stars. Should be upgraded.

Bit fiddly finding the carpark (under the hotel)

I was free upgraded to a suite. The room was large, had a large confy bed, with a wc large and well equiped. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was probably the best I had on a 2 stars hotel. The food was constantly being replenished. The locations it's quiet, safe, nice and with a metro and bus stop nearby. there are supermarket's nearby in case something is needed.
