Very good position with view from the balcony towards the garden with many types of palms and very well taken care of. The room was big enough, very clean and with attention to small details like natural flowers. The food was amazing, very tasty, great variety of choice and with local products. Personal was always polite, professional and client oriented. There were entertaining activities like local dancing or harp and guitar live music. Overall great atmosphere with peace and tranquility, perfect for relaxing.

Pool could have been warmer, but we could swim nevertheless.

Prime location in beautiful gardens above oldest part of Puerto de La Cruz. A well run hotel with very helpful staff. Generous room size. Excellent breakfast with everything you could wish for. Food in both ‘a la carte’ and residents restaurants in the evenings was good. A very interesting talk about the history of the hotel and garden was provided by one member of the family owning the hotel.

Parking was difficult. There were no free spaces at the hotel or in the public car park nearby. We had to pay 7 Euros per night to park in a gated car park belonging to the hotel. It was very disappointing and somewhat annoying to have to pay for a kettle and a supply of tea in our room. A fridge would also have been extra. As we were paying some £130 per night for bed and breakfast it was not particularly good value ……

The whole hotel, staff, food, drinks and surroundings fantastic. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and they had upgraded our room on arrival and when we got in there flowers, ice bucket with bubbly in and also a beautiful card with very sentimental words in, we where in a suite. With my husband just getting over prostrate cancer we felt very blessed and spoilt. We will definitely be going back, just couldn't fault anything, what the pictures show is exactly how it is, perfect. Also the owners and management came and greeted everyone, every day. Breakfast is plentiful and loads of choice, nothing is too much for the staff and our evening meals where very good and if you visit the restaurant we would recommend the Chateaubriand, amazing. So thank you Hotel Tigaiga for such a perfect and comforting stay, you should be so proud of all your staff.

There wasn't anything we didn't like

A lovely friendly family-run hotel. The location was good, away from the noise and bustle of the town centre, but an easy walk down to the main square and other tourist spots. A taxi back up the hill was only €5. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent and varied. We stayed half board and the dinners were very good although the fish dishes could possibly have been a bit more generous. The Reception and Restaurant staff were excellent - professional, helpful and very friendly. Some have been there for decades so obviously like working there. We had a superb view over the beautiful sub-tropical gardens from our comfortable balcony. A highlight for us was the guided tour of the gardens with Ursula, the granddaughter of the hotel's founder.

The only things which would have improved our stay there would have been the provision of tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. We had taken a travel kettle so not a problem, but we were disappointed that there was no fridge if only to keep milk. In our spacious, otherwise well equipped, room where there was a space for a fridge, a cupboard had been fitted instead. Maybe some guests paying a higher tariff get a fridge fitted.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The staff was super friendly and they took care of us (especially since we were with our baby). The surrounding garden is very well kept and the rooms are spotless clean. We took half-board and both the breakfast and dinner were nice and with multiple options. We also appreciated the fact that we could have dinner starting from 18 o'clock. The walk to the city below is very nice and the entire area is very green.

There was no fridge in the room which seems strange considering the warm temperature. But maybe it was just our room with this missing item.

We had an exceptional stay at this hotel. The location and views are stunning, complemented by beautiful gardens. The staff was attentive and always available to assist us. The presence of the manager ensured that everything ran smoothly, and the staff appeared to genuinely enjoy their work environment. Overall, the atmosphere was delightful, making our experience truly memorable. I find this hotel to be excellent, not only for its facilities and services, but also for its exceptional value for money. While you may find other places with more lavish amenities or services at a higher price point, the value offered here truly sets it apart. I appreciate the effort put forth by the staff to deliver such outstanding value.

I have absolutely no complaints about my stay. I even received an email encouraging me to reach out to the staff if there was anything I needed or if I encountered any issues. It's hard to find fault when the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction.

Amazing Hotel Very peaceful and nested in a botanical garden. The hotel is well taken care of and very clean and beautiful. We loved watching the sunsets from our room. Views are extraordinary! Walking distance to the beach with planty of options to eat within a walkable distance. Our stay there was very enjoyable and we came back feeling restored and happy. Over all - I would definitely recommend and can't wait to stay there again.

The one thing I would point out on the downside is there is no electric kettle or mini fridge in the room, and adding them to the room is at an extra cost of over 10 gbp per night. We thought that is a bit unconventional. However please note that if you are travelling with a baby those costs are waved off.

Stunning location in the middle of a beautiful garden with great views of the city, the mountains and the sea. Everything is impeccably clean, beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and staff very service-oriented. The German owners seem to very environmentally focused, which is wonderful. The restaurant food is equally very good and good value for money.

The sauna only operates upon prior request (and payment) and unless required for medicine, guests have a to pay extra to get a fridge in the room to save electricity / reduce the environmental impact - both seems sensible to me. However, the fact that one also has to pay EUR 3/night for a tea kettle (without tea bags) on the room seemed a little stingy for a hotel of this price range and difficult to justify with environmental protection. While most of the staff were incredibly friendly, we had a hard time trying to find out which buffet cheeses were pasteurised (and hence suitable for pregnant women!) and the kitchen staff were initially rather stand off ish when asked, until the head waiter finally came to our rescue.

The hotel is very comfortable, the staff is kind and helpfull. A lovely pool with great staff as well. A nice walk into town (some stairs bring you downtown), in 8 minutes you enter the city centre of Puerto de la Cruz. The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet area next to a lovely park where people fo yoga and walk their dogs in the morning. Also the rooms offer great view over Puerto de la Cruz. We slept really well as well, a nice breeze amd climate in our room and good beds. Also a clean bathroom.

Two things might be good to mention! First of all, be aware that the hotel is full of German pensioners. We haven’t seen (or heard) another nationality and age range. To us, this was not a problem, bit a bit more diversity would be nice though. :) Second, the breakfast is really early; from 7 - 10 am. Normally that means that you can still have breakfast at 9.30 am and finish your breakfast at around 10.15 am or even 10.30 am. But here the staff really expects you to leave the breakfast room latest 10 am. They start cleaning and empty your table (taking away milkjugs and sugarbowls at 9.48 am - we checked our watch because we were unpleasantly surprised by that). Holiday should be about relaxation, to us, this made our holiday less relaxt. We felt like being in a hurry every morning.
