This is a really beautiful location, first of all. we were lucky to stay in room 144 and we had a large balcony with 2 decks chairs, a table and 4 chairs to eat at, if we felt like, as well as a sun umbrella and also a roll out shade cover, but most importantly a fantastic view of the Los Gigantes cliffs - I couldn't believe the view. Really incredible! The apartment is big and nicely laid out inside, and it is a self catering apartment. The kitchen is well stocked with hardware so you have everything you need to make breakfasts and dinners in the room, if that's what you want. You're also right beside a LIDL so you can go and get your food on foot. It was spotlessly clean when we got there and over the week we stayed, the cleaning crew came in twice and changed sheets, wiped down kitchen and bathroom, and cleaned the floors. It was great. We were very comfortable there. The pool area was also very nice, its situated well to get as much sun as possible and the bar is right there. Around the side of the bar there is a little terrace with a totally uninterrupted view of the sunset over the water - fantastic. You can get drinks all day but the pool snacks aren't available between 2.30 and 7pm. The whole of Los Gigantes is hilly so be prepared to walk a bit wherever you go. Maybe 10 mins to the harbour from the hotel, and 15 back up because of the height difference! Not much traffic on the roads. Plenty of street parking available for free, and a car is very helpful if you are hiking. There's also a bus stop nearby that was going regularly by the looks of it. For us, who wanted to have some relaxed pool days and some exploring days, this was a really perfect spot. We had our car and could shoot off when we felt like it, and we could sunbathe on the balcony or at the pool others. Everyone really keeps themselves to themselves here and the staff are not intrusive at all.

You have to pay extra to use the safe in the room (only 8 euros per week so not huge) BUT it is a physical key safe, not a code lock, so you have to look after the safe key then. The safe is also not big enough for a laptop or ipad, FYI. Just wallets and jewelry.

The apartament is really big and comfortable, clean and with all you need in the kitchen. Each aprtement has its own large terrace to relax. Access to the hotel pool is included (nice water temperature even in winter). The location is optimal for trips to the volcan Tende, to do dolphins watching or travelling to Masca. Staff was super helpful and kind. I forgot a personal item when we left the hotel and they kindly arrange to ship it back to me by post!

The whole apartament was very clean. We only noticed that some cuttlery and dishes in the cupboard had not been washed properly, but that was a quick fix for us

We liked EVERYTHING!! For the price we weren’t expecting too much from this hotel but the moment we walked in our apartment I was amazed!! The apartment was HUGE, had a full kitchen so we could have tea on our amazing balcony with a lovely view! We really didn’t expect it!!! Pool area was good and spacious, lots of sun loungers free, no booking system in place anymore which we were happy about and could turn up anytime and get a spot!!! Restaurant and bar- nice food!!! After a little exploring I found the location great, if you walk down to los gigantes about 7 mins there is a lovely little loop with a square full of bars and restaurants next to the lovely old church. Then the other direction about same distance there is a little loop in peurto Santiago behind the tiamo tropical hotel with lots of restaurants and bars, live music on at Route 66 every night! Also bus stop and lidl (got Milk for our tea) right outside hotel- bus down the coast to el Arenal beach which is lovely and with again lots of restaurants and a Irish bar with live music at night (we walked it was only about 20 mins but a bit hilly) although there are little restaurants all the way down to stop and have a drink in. Amazing views and lovely location- not the typical bargain brits abroad holiday you get from costa Adeje (which we also like) but a more friendly local experience with nicer scenery and holiday makers 😃😃 Also forgot to say we got free pool/beach towels

Nothing!!

Our staying in this hotel was very pleasant. The room was big and well equipped. There was everything you need for cooking and comfortable living. Across the road you can find 2 big supermarkets: Lidl and Dino. The swimming pool with sea water. The view from our room number to the ocean and Los Gigantos was incredible. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from our big terrace! Also I should admit excellent client service. All questions before and during our staying were made quickly and professional 👍🏻

Among cons I must admit weak wi-fi in the evening and poor choice of meals for breakfast - you have only two options: English or Continental and they are the same day to day. Also there are noisy a little bit at night, but with closed windows it’s ok…

Wow, wow, wow. A few weeks ago my wife and I decided to try and find some winter sun. We know it is warm in Tenerife and we knew the area around Puerto de Santiago reasonably well so we thought we would try and book at El Marques. Thankfully they could fit us in. As we have never stayed there before we wondered what we would find. From the moment we were greeted at the reception and given such a warm welcome, we knew that it was going to be enjoyable. When we got to our apartment which had a gorgeous view we were overjoyed. Also, how well the apartment was appointed and how spotlessly clean it was. We should have realised that this would be the case when we wandered through the immaculate manicured well cared for gardens. The apartment has everything you could want and much more, we even cooked a three course meal for friends with all the equipment and utensils we needed. El Marques is in such a wonderful location, sitting on the edge of a truly Canarian old village where the new meets the old, but still with that Spanish flavour. If you are looking for a quite peaceful break this is the place to come. Whenever we walk round the complex we are always greeted warmly by the housekeeping staff, the gardeners and the lifeguards. Whoever does the staff training should be congratulated. The swimming pool is wonderfully located. You might think it is on the other side of the road, but there is a private tunnel to get from one side of the road to the other. So many thanks for making this a truly memorable holiday. Many thanks to all at “Team El Marques”

All of the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The pool was lovely in the morning when less busy. The aircon in the bedroom helped me sleep. There is a nice roof terrace (overlooking a sport club’s tennis courts) for people who don’t want to sit by the pool. There is a shaded kids area with pool table, ping pong, air hockey, swings and slide and a little kids room with kids chairs and tables in.

The pool was too busy in the afternoon and weekends. The evening entertainment could have been better. Sometimes people moving in or out meant loud screeching a.m/p.m noise of furniture in the apartments above/below/beside us. Unfortunately our neighbors smoked a lot, so we had to keep our patio doors and windows shut and couldn’t sit on our balcony, but the pool area is thankfully a no smoking zone.

The apartment was clean and tidy. The facilities were great. The washing machine was a bonus. Location was great, walking distance from the lookouts of Los Gigantes. Restaurants and grocery stores (HyperDino and Lidl) are close by. As we travelled with a baby, they really took a great care of the baby, the balcony had a safety mesh and Baby's towel was extra soft. High chair and cot were available. We also loved the pool area, heated pool and lots of sunbeds.

We didn't have a view, our apartment was located on the other side of the building and we had a street level view. We had breakfast included, 2 options of breakfast continental and English, nothing special. No dishwasher.

Location and facilities very good

When we opened our luggage 1bottle of Channel blue was missing from our suitcase it was a present from my wife for christmas she had bought me two bottles one polo, one Channel they stole the more expensive one. They have a luggage facility but the door is never locked so we think it went missing then 85 pound out of pocket so not impressed. This has never happened before.

We liked that apartment was quite big and has good lay-out (bedrooms upstairs, kithen and living room downstairs), bedrooms are spacious and have enough closets (we were there for 14 days). Baby cot was also a plus for us (we travelled with 2 little kids). Pool is great and the restaurant next to it is a plus. It has a lovely beach close-by (5 minute drive) with nice views over the cliffs and black sand. A short walk away there are very nice paths with beautiful views.

Bed in master bedroom was not comfortable (too soft and made loud noises), many stairs in appartment were a bit minus for us but just because we had an almost 1-year old that was all the time trying to climb the stairs both ways, so we couldn't really relax with her crawling around. :) We missed some kitchen equipment (some more knives, something to cut on ...). We also hoped for a bit better view (over the ocean and/or cliffs) since the only thing we could see from the terrace were other little houses/appartments.

Pool for children OK, they liked. Nice view to ocean, terrace for evening relax with wine was absolutely perfect. Resort seemed not very occupied at that time so it was calm. Facility was clean. Lidl and Dino shops were close so no problem with everyday fresh and crispy pastry. We got room cleaned and new towels in the middle of our stay. There were provided extra towels for swimming pool. Kitchen fully equipped including fridge. Our apartment had two bedrooms and also two bathrooms. There was also open bar until midnight. Good to have beer or two in the evening. I liked it.

It was not problem of property management but I had problem with: - car parking - although it seemed there was a lot of parking places everything was full. It was difficult to park there in the evening. You need to park quite far from property. - tap water is not suitable for drinking or cooking. You need to buy drinkable water from shop. This is general issue on Tenerife.
