We chose this hotel for the last night of our stay as, generally, we found the hotel standards in Sri Lanka quite poor, and wanted somewhere nice. The hotel is in a good location. It is situated in a shopping mall featuring luxury brand shops and eateries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym and swimming pool are nice. The bathrooms are nice and we had a good view of the sea from our room.

The bathroom lock wouldn't work and there was a small amount of mould in the shower. The room was very small (we were told we'd been upgraded, though this was not the case). The place is vastly over-priced, we didn't feel the cost of the room was justified.

All about Details and the hotel staff from the door man to the manager these people are so professional and especially our dear Mme Sayani, she was adorable. She is a great value for the company.

The pool with kids … terrible Not only adults and kid so u can enjoy your cocktail with kid noises everywhere and toys in the pool. Not acceptable for a 5 stars hotel

Property excellent but in the bathroom I suggest to install a bidet sprayer

Great location, lovely modern rooms. Lovely amenities. We got to check out the bar and the pool area. Both were very cool and new. It is obvious it is quite a new hotel, I liked all the communal facilities. It is right next to Galle Face Malle and a short walk from Port City and Galle Face Hotel. Very clean and nice part of Colombo, would highly recommend if you are going for a short trip. A bit more expensive than other options but you get what you pay for.

Check-in and check-out can take some time. It is quite a huge hotel with only a couple of staff attending to this. Also when we ordered food at the pool area it took over an hour to arrive and the staff spilt our fries. But perhaps we were just unlucky and the kitchen was busy.

The concierge staff was horrible. They asked unnecessary questions about where I was going and coming. Was utterly unnecessary. The women in the staff was amazing including the receptionist who helped me. There was something odd about the male staff treating a single lady traveling.

The staff was extremely professional and accommodating. The hotel interior looks elegant. Spacious and airy. Ambiance is great. We loved the diverse buffet breakfast and the view from our two rooms. Everyone working at the hotel made sure we are comfortable including our one year old and the 3 yr old.

We had a tough time going in and out of the hotel due to the heavy traffic in the area. They had Christmas celebrations at the mall next to the hotel and in Galle face. The crowed control was poor during this time. But this may be a one time thing

The staff were all amazing especially Maleesha was very kind and friendly and looked after us very very well. The hotel was very clean, very secure and safe. The room was really nice. The view was incredible. Maleesha picked an amazing room with an incredible view of the lake, Lotus tower, Galle Face and Port city. The room facilities were great. Very nice hot water and really nice smelling shower gel and shampoo. Very comfortable bed! The pool area was lovely as well. But mainly we enjoyed the staff and their friendliness. All the staff were really great but a big thank you to Maleesha for making our stay great :)

A little bit expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed at, some cheaper hotels are a little bit better quality e.g giving welcome drinks, complimentary chocolate/ snacks in the room

Shangri-La is a true 5star experience and more. The hotel is not only luxurious but there are so many small details that make it special. Yes the room was perfect. But what really makes the hotel stand out were: 1. delicious food, available in room, and in all the many restaurants in the hotel 2. extremely attentive staff, you are even able to chat with receptionň/support on WhatsApp to ask questions 24/7 3. There is an artisan/professiional bakery/cakery with cakes that look like from a magazine, including chocolate bonbons etc. 4. the bar was exquisite, amazing design combined with all the alcohol brands you could imagine - I appreciated especially the rum selection, and you can sit outside where there is a lovely garden 5. The breakfast bar was amazing, everything you could imagine, and they had proper coffee (this is uncommon throughout Sri Lanka) 6. The hotel is adjacent to a shopping centre with more restaurants if need be, and possibility to do some last minute souvenir shopping etc. 7. Last but not least and possibly the best part was the Chi SPA - it is reasonably priced and the spa was just an oasis of relaxation - just what you need after a full day of travelling. the massage suites were just beautiful and the sheets! so silky and smooth I felt instantly relaxed. My massage therapist Karma was a true professional and her massage was one of the best I have ever had. - THANK YOU!

We loved everything about the stay. The location was central and right off Galle face. The service was excellent. Each of the staff were nice and helpful. Special thank you to Hiruni to welcome us and show us our room with a nice gesture for our honeymoon. Coffee bar has great coffee with pastries if you aren't a breakfast person like me. The restaurants options were great. The salon on the 4th floor was handy if you needed a quick fix. Pool was nice with a pool bar. Access to the galle mall directly which was really helpful for shopping. Super easy to uber to other areas if you wanted to explore places. We loved staying there and definitely recommend if you want the best of both worlds!

One feedback I had is that I noticed is that there are no mirrors in the room. It'd be helpful to have a mirror for someone who's short like me.
