The hotel is classy and very well run. It stands apart in the city of Kandy, providing an overall good experience. The room is clean, roomy and equipped with all the comforts that you need to get a break from the bustling of the city.

We had an unfortunate experience where the hotel staff cleaned the common areas - both just outside of our room and in the reception hall/at the bar - for literally the entire day, affecting the comfort of the day stay in the hotel (unfortunately it was a rainy day and we decided to spend the day at the hotel). We bet it's been just an exceptional occurrence.

The location is fantastic. Very close to the Temple of the Tooth,shopping the lake and all kinds of eateries.  The front desk staff were very helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

I expected more from this property. There was no shampoo, conditioner, or body lotion. All there was was body wash. Eventually, the staff did supply.  Our air-conditioning was dripping, so that there was a big puddle from the door to the beds of our room. This was properly attended to by the staff, but the shower drain was not. I asked three times for it to be fixed and was told it had been. It was not. The problem was that I had to keep turning off the water while taking a shower, so it would not flow into the other room.

THE STAFF: 
We felt extremely welcome at all times.
Be it a hotel with 0 or 5 stars, for me the experience is shaped by its staff. Radh has an excellently trained staff be it the reception or restaurant. 
Loved the tea in the room so we inquired about it. While we got the basic answer we were looking for, someone went the extra mile to make a few calls and got back to us with all the information we needed which I really appreciate. The communication between the staff was also noticeably smooth. 

ROOMS:
As per the reviews and photos advertised on the web, they are small. We weren’t looking for bigger rooms so the space was more than enough for us. In fact we had zero issues as everything was in place. We appreciated the meticulous design of the hotel despite its location at a tightly packed street. 

FOOD:
Pricey but fuss free service and very good. Club sandwich, Katsu Don (shareable), Biscuit Pudding and Biryani were all 10/10. We were full and most importantly, happy.

Radh is pricey as it falls under small luxury boutique hotels but the location was perfectly safe and highly convenient.

The only speck of a fault was that there was a piece of waffle stuck on the coffee table in the balcony. We informed and they cleaned it immediately. Time to time, noise can be heard from the street but this didn’t bother us, may not be the same for everyone. PICK A ROOM ON A HIGHER FLOOR TO AVOID THIS.

The staff were super helpful throughout the stay, from a very warm welcome with refreshments to checking in on whether they should keep the breakfast buffet open a bit longer (when I slept in). The room was very cozy and offered a nice view onto the city. I even had a balcony, which I did not use but it definitely added to the appeal. The gym is small but has good basic equipment (treadmill, stepper, bench, dumbbells from 2.5 to over 20kg). In the restaurant, the sushi dishes are excellent and were a welcome change to the usual curry variations to me.

Nothing to complain about. Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay in Radh. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional! They served us with some sesame balls when we arrived at the hotel and it was so delicious that we made a special request to have some prepared again for us to take back home to Colombo. They accommodated our every request and was very polite. Special thanks to the gentleman who moved our vehicles around, he was very sincere. The dinner was great! Hats off to the head chef..

When we checked in, we gave our credit/debit cards to the hotel staff to complete our payment but none of their card machines worked even after trying 3 to 4 cards. At this point they confirmed the machines weren't working and they recommended that we pay by cash. We had to walk to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash, which we felt was a bit inconvenient as it was raining heavily and also because hotels such as the radh which markets themselves as a luxury hotel are supposed to have card machines that work. Their breakfast could be better. The bread basket was lovely but the main scrambled eggs and sausage/bacon plate could include strictly hotel made ones and not store brought ones, considering the amount we paid.

Ok, this hotel really went beyond my expectations! The facilities and little details in the room were better that a lot of five star hotels that I have stayed at. With the fantastic music system provided in the room to the personalized details mentioned on stationary items, everything about this hotel room was fabulous. It was conveniently located, about five minutes from the Tooth temple. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Our health faucet in the washroom malfunctioned, but that issue was fixed by the staff.

Such a gorgeous hotel. Beautiful comfortable rooms. Perfect amazing location. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the drinks guy (forget his name) who gave us a delicious iced tea and sweets on our arrival after a long train journey. Always very helpful with giving advice about where to visit and how to get there, where to change money, where to buy things. Was such fun watching the cricket late at night with the very kind friendly kitchen staff!! Good food.

The staff at The Radh were very hospitable and attentive, they made our stay extremely comfortable. The breakfast buffet was exceptional including traditional egg hoppers made at the ready. The bed was comfortable, the rooms were excellent and the bathroom was spacious. It is walking distance to many tourist attractions including the Kandy Lake. So welcoming, the decor is gorgeous, it also has a gym and there’s parking!

The hotel offered a spa service however no female therapist was available. Also the steam room wasn’t working.

I walked in to an array of staff to welcome me with open arms. I was given a beautiful cold drink and a selection of sweets. It felt very posh, friendly, rich and expensive. I went there so I could work online and it was the perfect place for that. Also, free room service which I needed as I was working so much. Beautiful balcony and a free upgrade. I couldn't have asked for more. My balcony was lovely too.

Maybe some alcoholic beverages, but I know this isn't really the done thing in Sri Lanka and they said as they were in the vicinity of the relic of the tooth, it was not really allowed.

Booked spontaneously on our way to Ella. Super polite and helpful staff - smooth check in process. We even got a free room upgrade despite last minute reservation. The hotel itself feels premium, rooms have very comfortable beds - just the right thing you need before a long train trip on the next day.

The cleanliness is mediocre at best, especially considering the price point. Signs of mold and dirt in the bathroom. Breakfast was decent, but ruined due to small bugs living inside the cereals. I did not expect an extra protein in my morning meal. Surely not worth a full price. Book only with decent discounts.
