The location of this hotel is amazing. Our room was on the top floor and waking up to the view was a dream. The staff are excellent - so friendly and always smiling. Excellent customer service. The self check-in is super easy. It's not like other hotels where there aren't staff around. There are staff in the restaurant and bar. Once you book, you will receive a confirmation email - at this stage give all your details (ID etc) so the check in goes super smoothly. I don't usually like a self check-in hotel but I would have no hesitation recommending this one. The food in the hotel is excellent. I had the same dish two nights in a row, it was so good!! Parking is excellent - secure underground parking and a connecting door to the hotel. While there is no air-conditioning, you can open the windows. I always want air conditioning but I happily sacrificed it for this beautiful experience. The train and bus station is a short 5-10 minute walk which takes you to Lucerne (it takes about half an hour). I don't usually go back to the same place twice but I'd definitely go back to this little gem!

While there is no refrigerator in the room, I asked for a glass of ice at the bar to cool our drinks. They happily supplied it. All the reviews mention the bells and yes, there are loud bells but sure you're out and about so you only have to hear them sometimes. They get you moving early in the day - you won't miss breakfast!

Sachseln is a lovely location, even for gloomy winter days. The hotel was spotless, warm and cozy. The mattresses were very good. The breakfast was generous with eggs, bacon, yoghurt, cheeses, croissants etc! I also liked the ability to check in using an automated screen since I arrived late. The staff were also polite and I was able to hang out at the lobby for a few hours on my departure date to get some work done.

This hotel was located in the heart of Sarnen and it was one of the best hotels I’ve booked in Switzerland. The reason is because of the following: the location is only 20 minutes from the city centre of Lucerne. also, the hotel provides free parking and 24 hour self check-in. The staff were absolutely amazing and they helped me with everything I needed. Breakfast was so delicious. There were a supermarket close and two restaurants as well. Lake Sarnen is only 500meters away with a breathtaking views and seating area. If you have kids there is a small place with fun activities for free near the lake as well. There are electric car charging stations if you are interested. I booked the junior suite and it was spacious. Totally recommend this one!

Just about everything was perfect - a lovely old hotel that has been tastefully updated. Room exactly as expected, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom modern and real glass drinking glasses were provided. Dinner was excellent at the restaurant, breakfast the usual buffet but well done. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location perfect just up the street from the lake and the center but very quiet neighborhood.

Hated the self check in process - staff needed to help us anyway so having a reception would have just been more in line with the cost of this room and the overall high quality of the hotel itself. The room itself was a bit pricey but still in line with typical Swiss prices. Adding a coffee machine and/or a tea kettle with coffee/tea and cups would have made this stay perfect.

Beautifully decorated, quiet, comfortable room. Staff very pleasant. Super shower and bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. Very good breakfast, plenty of choice. Location was excellent, easy to find, right in the village, supermarket and cafe a few metres away, lake just a very short walk away. Underground carpark was a real bonus, safe and secure with easy access to the hotel.

Would have liked a kettle in the room, so we could just make ourselves a cup of tea or coffee.

Very nice hotel with automated check-in system. The restaurant of the hotel is very good, so we did not need to go anywhere to look for a restaurant that is open.

We did not know that this hotel is right next to the church. As our room's windows were facing the church, the church bell tower was very noicy and started from 7 AM in the morning already... So, this was a bit unpleasant surprise.

The room was spacious,very clean and comfortable. Excellent location near Lucerne and other attractions like mountain Pilatus. The staff was very friendly. Self check in was super easy. The restaurant was also nice.you can enjoy your dinner in the terasse if the weather is good. We really appreciated the free parking slot.

Great, authentic hotel with a long history. Right on the walls you can find different historical facts. Also good breakfast and clean spa. The location is just perfect! Train station and the lake are just a few minutes walk away, Zurich airport and all attractions an hour away by car. Highly recommend it! 👌🏼🤩

Easy self check-in. It was also nice to have a free and locked parking lot.

The room's window opened directly on the neighbors house (not a great view). The church rang from 7am for quite some time, but also on different quarters. We're used to some church bells at some exact hours but it's usually much shorter, this was something else! (Not a very big deal in the big picture, but worth mentioning)

The hotel was clean and in a great location. The staff were really friendly and polite. The hotel is self check in which we were a little worried about however, this was actually so straightforward and we actually preferred it. Breakfast was continental and we ate in the restaurant for one of the evenings which was exceptional.

We loved everything!
