breakfast was exceptional, friendly staff, very nice spa and hot tub, location (easy walk to the main stretch of restaurants, less than a 10 min walk to the Matterhorn Express), shuttle service to lifts in the morning

very minor - no free shuttle to train upon departure although it is an easy walk

the staff were so friendly and helpful. the amenities were amazing. best part was the outdoor jacuzzi with the view of waterfall. Definitely coming back

Showers in the room were difficult to use.

The staff, without exception, were helpful, welcoming, friendly. The room was lovely and the views superb. The breakfasts were excellent in terms of choice and taste. We had one evening meal, which was a set meal but of a very good standard. would go again without hesitation.

Zermatt, being Switzerland, is an expensive option but the hotel was pretty good value for money considering the location, and what it provided.

Great shower/ changing room facility in case of late check-out, since it wasn’t possible to stay in the room. Friendly staff.

Saunas weren’t heated up enough, especially steam baths ( they were turned on when we said we wanted to use them, but couldn’t heat up properly).

The breakfast offered every morning and went until 10:30 A.M. every day was very tasty and had a pleather of selections.

There was absolutely nothing we did not like about the hotel, location, staff (many were the family that owned the property), the beds were very comfortable.

A great, calm, cozy hotel located next to the city church. The hotel has a large swimming pool by Zermatt standards and several saunas in the hammam. There is a small waterfall on the street near the jacuzzi. Thank you very much to the staff for their help in everything necessary.

Great rooms (attention to details made it a very comfortable stay), excellent breakfast and restaurant, very warm cozy lounge, super kind, friendly and cooperative staff.. we will return to this hotel... I've just recently returned from an amazing trip to Zermatt, made even more special due to my stay at Hotel Sonne. Right from the booking, communication with the hotel was effortless, very helpful and prompt too. On arrival, I was collected at the train station by elec vehicle, by one of the hotel staff. The rest of my stay continued this seamlessly, nothing was ever an issue for the fantastic reception team. The restaurants, from breakfast to dinner, are excellent. The leisure facilities are fantastic too. I went to Zermatt for summer skiing, and this hotel was perfect - it's only 10mins walk to the Zermatt Glacier lifts. As with summer skiing, the glacier closes around 1pm, so I then had the rest of the day to explore Zermatt - the centre of which is only a 2min walk from the hotel... perfect! I enjoyed my stay so much, I have booked to return again (with my wife) in 4 months time... for some winter skiing :) A huge thank you to Fabian and all the staff I met, I can't wait to return.

That I had to leave...

The hotel was excellent in most ways. The hot tub and wellness area were fantastic and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

For us the location is too far from the ski lifts and the taxi back up from the slopes was a pain as the resort was very busy. The breakfast buffet was not as good as hoped - no fresh juice or fresh fruit. The Christmas meal in the main restaurant was average and overpriced.
