Room layout was well thought out and facilities were clean and neat. The common area was good. The location was very central but removed enough to be isolated from all the noise of Ximending. The room presented itself on par, if not better than some of the 5 star hotels I've stayed in. The shower, toilet and vanity were all in separate spaces: but, this ended up being a plus for a party of 3 as the entire bathroom wasn't just taken up by one person at a time.) Plenty of elevators. Many even 4-5 star hotels have just 1 or 2 elevators, which makes for a long wait if you need to get somewhere. There were plenty of elevators here meaning minimal wait. A large 7-Eleven directly below the hotel was a huge bonus. Not to mention a foot massage place right next door.

This is a really great hotel for the value, one of the best I've stayed in Taipei. It's simple yet very well-designed. The staff were are all very friendly and helpful. The room (Superior Double Room) had a great layout with a lot of room, desk, small table, and nice bathroom with separate toilet and shower rooms. The water pressure and temp were also excellent. There is no closet, but there is a bar hanging from the ceiling with hangers, and there are also some pegs on the wall for coats. The breakfast was better than expected, even with some nice western options. The breakfast area is near the check in desk and there is free coffee and light snacks all day. The elevators are fast. And the location is perfect, just on the edge or Ximending, and only a 5-10 minute walk to the MRT Airport Express. There is no bar or restaurant, so if that if what you want, try another place. Overall, very satisfied and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for value on a budget.

The breakfast area was very crowded every morning, but likely because of the lunar new year holiday. The staff did a great job managing the seating, though.

I would recommend this hotel if staying in Taipei as follows : 1. Location. Though hotel is so near center of ximengting, just cross a major road hence, not noisy. 2. Mrt at almost front of hotel - entrance 6. But do note there’s no lift nor escalator. Need to walk further at the centre of ximengting for another MRT entrance for young children or elderly people. 3. Breakfast varieties is good and main dishes almost different everyday. We stayed 3 nights. 4. Need not make special arrangements if going jiu-fen as there’s bus 965 (like tour bus) almost right in front of hotel. And one way trip is only TW9,000 per person. 5. Staff are all very friendly and always keen to help on any request made. 6. Snacks and drinks at lobby and good resting areas when checkout, waiting for transport.

Room is relatively small and tight for the one we stayed for 4 people.

Location is great. Just exit no. 6 from ximen metro underground mall. Exit no.5 if u need the elevator. U can exit from Ximen station exit 6 and walk on street level too, just that the walk is unsheltered. Staff is super awesome and friendly with always the brightest smiles on their faces. It was a special bonus for us to receive a xmas hamper in the room and a sock full of candies. Room is just the right size for our family of 4. Enuff space for all 4 luggages to open fully. Breakfast is very cosy and warm. Though the spread is not extensive, we enjoyed the same comfort food for our stay thruout. Laundry room well equipped with 4 LG washers and 4 dryers. Just note to clean the lint of the dryer before you use and the clothes will come out dry and nice! Really love this hotel. I've been to Taipei a couple of times and i know I'll return to this hotel for sure on my next visit.

Nothing. But if I've to say, it is that it can be a bit cold in the room in dec. Apparently, no warm air from the aircon. Only solution is to turn off the unit. Lucky the blankets in the room provide enough warmth!

They allowed us to leave our luggage early prior to check in time which allowed us to explore the area without having to tow all the luggage around. There was a great common space that allowed to hang out and eat some meals we bought for takeout. My niece really liked the toys or children related items! So thoughtful! We used the laundry facilities to wash our clothes which is such a bonus. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly .

Although there is a laundry facility, please keep in mind the drying took so long. I’m not sure if it’s the dryer itself or we just didn’t know the settings. Some of our clothes took 2+ hours to dry. Some of us stayed in the room with two twins and the hotel did such a great job with the space they had but we thought it was a little odd to have the shower and toilet separate since sometimes it’s more convenient for women to have both in the same room. Technically after you shower, you really step out into the “hall” so it’s a little awkward to get changed but you can always change in the shower too.

Breakfast: We stayed 4 nights, the breakfast was fabulous. They change main some courses daily so that the food won't be all the same. Check-in: Fast and smooth Lobby: free drinks and tidbits from afternoon until late night, the lobby area was comfortable. Services: The bedroom got a smell of humid when we first entered. After settled down, we call the reception about that and ask for a dehumidifier. one of the staff came shortly and get us a dehumidifier. I did online shopping and shipped to the hotel before our arriving, after informing the hotel, they kept the parcel for me. Coins laundry and dryers can be used throughout the days.

Nope. Everything meets my expectations except the humid smell in the room but it was solved.

A stone throwaway from Ximending shopping street. Many eateries and convenient stores near the hotel. Near Ximen MRT station exit 6 (no escalators or lift though). There’s also free use of washer and dryer on level 5. Need to pay NTD$10 for a pack of laundry detergent which you could get at the lobby. Took the twin bed room - adequate space for luggages etc. Many hocks on the wall to hang your clothes etc as there is no wardrobe. A Muslim-friendly hotel. Near to the two Halal Beef Noodles eating place.

I’m surprised there is no lock for the bathroom and toilet. Those coming with friends might need to remember that. My room was right opposite the lift. Can hear the chime & people walking along the corridors. The Muslim-Friendly breakfast prepared each morning was generally the same almost every day, consisting of a plate of salad, another plate with an uncut apple and cherry tomatoes, a bowl of white rice, and a bowl of beef stew (tomato or curry). After eating it for 5 days straight, wish there were more varieties (such as omelette or seafood, or even bread/bun/bao).

This is a well run hotel (chain), with excellently trained staff who are genuinely helpful and knowledgeable. It's focus clientele - travelers looking for good value at tourist spots - are well served. I see a lot of families, young people, etc. People seem to quickly adapt to the hotel's mode of operations, and become an efficient whole. Great job!

One thing - the room fills with smell from I think the sewer when I close the door of the shower. The exhaust intake is in the shower, and the closed door prevents air flow. Hotel should remind people of the need to crack open the door to prevent stagnant air. Or better yet, do not have door that completely close off the entrance. A gap at top would be good.

The location is unbeatable. There's an entrance to MRT right below the hotel. We don't have to walk under the burning sun in summer. If you take a taxi or hire a car, the car can park outside the hotel. So it is excellent for families with elderly. Ximending is just a stone's throw away. You can get there by a 2-minute walk, but keep a distance from the frenzy and noise. Breakfast is sumptuous; there are choices from Western and Chinese. We particularly like the honey corner. There is fresh honey dripping from a honeycomb. It is so delicious to eat it with fresh nuts, pumpkin seeds and baked bread. The room is clean and tidy. The bedding is spotless, and the bed is comfy. We had two rooms, one facing the main road and one facing the other side. The window is soundproof so there's no noise from the road. The staff are wonderful. We stayed four nights, and we did not meet one unfriendly staff. They are helpful, patient, and kind. They will provide useful tips for sightseeing whenever I come to them. I will recommend this hotel to families with teenagers and young adults because Ximending has the right vibe for them. You don't have to worry even if they stay out late because the main road is always busy. We will definitely stay there again next time when we travel to Taipei.

The only problem is the thin wall and door. We can hear the noise from the corridor and the guests next door. But you can get by if you bring an ear pug.

Location is excellent. Read some reviews with complaints of noise, but it was so peaceful when we were staying at Just Sleep. Room was small and as well as toilet but who goes on holidays and spend much time in the room or toilet??? So we are ok with the smallness of the room and toilet. Staff at reception friendly and efficient. Wait staff at breakfast was attentive. Cleaners were efficient as well. We will recommend Just Sleep Ximending to friends and relatives visiting Taipei. Also close to MRT. And the buses passing around Just Sleep can take us to many places of interest, including Jiufen. No problem hailing a cab as well. And lots of massage places around the hotel.
