We were extremely thankful that we we did choose this Hotel - we learnt from our host that Kismet means ‘your fate’ . From the moment we entered the premises we were made to feel at home. Our host and his whole family were extremely welcoming, kind and very generous, they went well beyond our expectations. We never considered that a stay in a hotel could lead us to such a deeper understanding of the Turkish culture and family life. There family is to be congratulated on the way they hold themselves to their beliefs and go about their daily lives. Great things do happen to good people. The hotel decor fits the environment in which we found ourselves. We had access to a kitchen, many quiet spaces or spaces were could meet up others. The bathrooms and kitchen area were both well appointed. A beautiful terrace on which you could enjoy the sounds, and the breeze moving between the buildings. Spending time with our host we learnt many customs, and heard first hand about the history of the area. They were there to meet our needs. We would highly recommend this hotel to others, we were close to the Main Street, restaurants, cafes and shops when we needed them.
There was NOTHING we didn’t enjoy or appreciate or like during our stay

This is a most pleasant place to stay. Centrally located, characterful and with comfortable, clean rooms with all expected facilities. The welcome was warm, and went far beyond merely providing a service: this was Turkish hospitality at its best, where one is treated like a family member. The breakfast was excellent (home-produced or local produce), the dining area sunny and cheerful. Trips and tours can be provided to all parts of Cappadocia, tailored to interest, at competitive rates.
Can't say: I've travelled a lot, and don't think I ever stayed at a better place.

Hotel is close to town center though it’s not a very big town, the little terrace for breakfast is sweet and homey, where you can also enjoy the ballon flying around if you get up early enough. Nice breakfast.
Bathroom facilities is too old, shower head and pipe is splattering water badly, room is a bit gloomy, cave style. If you don’t mind trying something really local, then it’s ok. Also, remember to call the hotel if you arrive very early in the morning or very late at night, they seem to not have night shift, we thought they did, so we didn’t call in advance and when we arrived at about 5am, the hotel was totally dark, after we knocked and waited for a long time, even the man ( obviously on night shift) from the hotel on the other side of the road helped to call, the manager finally came out and asked in a harsh way“do you know what time it is? Why you kick (which we didn’t) the door? ”maybe it’s our bad not calling first, but it was not a very nice welcoming.

Our stay was perfect. Cappadocia is a wonderful place to visit and the Kismet hotel was a great location to get energized for the next day. The family suite was exactly the right fit for our family of four. Great location with easy parking near the entrance to Goreme and a very tasty breakfast each morning.
Property was great, but if you have your own car, I would suggest eating in some of the other local towns. Goreme restaurants were definitely more expensive and the restaurants in Avanos definitely seemed less touristy.

Nestled centrally, Kismet Cave House is a family-operated lodging with an inviting cave-style setting, adorned by traditional Turkish carpets and furnishings. The owner and his son, Sahin, embody a welcoming and supportive spirit, overseeing a delightful breakfast served atop the rooftop terrace, with homemade jams, eggs, fresh fruit, honey, and even self-made butter. Sahin stands out for his remarkable aid in organizing airport transfers, sunrise hot air balloon excursions, and hikes through Rose Valley. His father's expertise in rugs adds an educational dimension to the stay, enriched by insights into various rug types and knots.

A small hotel run by a great family. Located some 200 m from the bus station and city center, very convenient for people using the public transport. Sahin, ( the son) is very kind and helped us a lot in all travel arrangements and you can trust him to find a good price for a balloon ride or any other excursion you may want to do. Thank you very much Sahin for all your good advices. Farouk, the father is very friendly, always offering us Turkish tea and chat. The breakfast is amazing, all organic, I won't forget the honey and home made butter and yogurt. All products come from the family farm and are delirious. There is a nice view from the rooftop terrace. Rooms are simple and decorated in the traditional Turkish style.

Its a family run business and all of them are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The owner Mr Faruk and his son are very friendly gentlemen and can communicate well in English. The hotel has a rustic traditional feel to it, starting from the walls and all the way down to furniture and décor. The washroom had a hot tub as well which the kids enjoyed alot. Our flight was late at night, so they were kind enough to allow us late checkout upon request. Their breakfast consists of home grown fruits vegetables and homemade bread, cheese, jams and sauces, which was an absolute delight. Will come to stay here again. Ideally located in goreme, very close to the baloon staging area and a few minutes drive time to all major attractions in the area. They also have baby sitting services available for people opting for early baloon rides.
Nothing not to like.

The evening discussion over tea with Faruk and my son, the father and original founder of this establishment was a highlight for me. Faruk had so much knowledge of current world affairs, stories to tell, and wisdom about life in general and the evolution of society in general. Then on the hotel side, the breakfast served by Faruk's wife.. Every ingredient fresh and either grown from their own garden or carefully picked from local producers. The jams were homemade and a real delight, and the omelette and cheese... Starting the day over this very healthy and plentiful breakfast was a real treat. Sahin, their son and the manager of the hotel was kind and providing good advice on how to make the best out of our stay - for example advising us to take the green tour instead of the red tour we had booked to be able to benefit from the opportunity to visit the underground city and the transportation to take us to sites we would not otherwise have been able to see. The rooftop terrace offered a fantastic vista from which to see the hot air balloons rise at sunrise.
Didn't have enough time to do it all. Goreme in general has become very touristy - nothing to do with the hosts and establishment - but comes through when one looks for a decent place to eat local food at reasonable prices.

I enjoyed every single moment while I was at Kismet Cave. Faruk, Sahin, and their family have provided me with one of the most memorable travelling experiences in my entire life. Not only did they go the extra mile to help me with my malfunctioning rental car, but they also shared their personal travel stories with me. Faruk's distant past, his young days, his wild dreams, fantasies, and adventures have all coalesced together to ascribe meaning to the thing that we call travelling. In the homemade jam and the hand-painted floral decors on the wooden table and doors, I sense the life of a lived space which has been cared for many years.
