For our first trip to Istanbul, the staff at Sultanahmet Palace hotel ensured that we arrived in comfort, and remained that way through the duration of our stay. Myself and my wife both enjoyed our stay in our room, but more importantly the interactions with the each of the staff members and facilities management. They went out of their way to ensure that our needs were immediately met, even going above and beyond to ensure we knew how to navigate the local tram, pointed out sites, and even helped coordinate transportation for when we left the city center to visit Eyupsultan & other sites not within walking distance. The staff maintained a level of cleanliness and decorum that was respectful to the guests, but most importantly, it reflected the reverence the facility held for being in the footprint of the revered Blue Mosque. We were grateful for the ability to stay here, and will book again when we return InshAllah.

These are not NOT LIKES, but things to be aware of: -the AC blows cold, but requires that the room key or similar credit card shaped item is inserted into the slot, which acts a master switch for power to the room and heating/cooling system. -the second floor room bathrooms have a shower head, but also have a basin that fills up with water to bathe yourself in a traditional sense; request extra towels in case the floor gets wet! -If you need an iron/ironing board to press your clothes, you have to request it from the front desk, who immediately coordinate access/use.

location is a few steps away from Sultan Ahmet Mosque. Our bedroom has it own turkish bath and balcony with partial sea and mosque views. Good garden and sea views from most of the bedrooms. Clean bathrooms in the lobby. The hotel has a its own character. A blend of Roman an Othman style. Spacious lobby, front, side and back gardens, spacious breakfast restaurants with good sea view.

Breakfast was the main reason not to extend my stay. it was below expected. poor and limited selections. Poor English communication makes the staff sound rude “ but they are not”. Weak WiFi connection in the rooms. low bedroom ceiling ” but can be forgotten once you step into the balcony.

The hotel is in a great location. As soon as you step out the front door, you have a perfect view of the Blue Mosque across the street. The rose garden in the front courtyard was in full bloom. The manager worked with us with our "modified" booking mistake and honored a refund. They even gave me a rose for our room. Breakfast was amazing. You can order eggs any style and even had a frame of honeycomb. Fresh fruit, salads, olives, meats and cheeses, bagels, croissants, muffins, breads, juices, coffee or teas, etc. Ocean view was a plus. Inside or garden seating. The room was spacious with everything we needed and more. Thank you to the staff and management for making us feel welcomed and your help with transportation. We highly recommend and will return again some day.

Nothing.

The location is perfect; close to the major sites (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi) with view of the Bosphorus. Easy to walk to sites, tons of restaurants and the tram. Surprisingly quiet and tranquil location. The room (double w/sea view) was attractive, though small. The balcony, with distant view of the sea and close view of the Blue Mosque, was a nice addition. The breakfast was outstanding; lavish, with so many choices, both traditional Turkish breakfast items, eggs and breads, sweet and non. The staff were helpful, gracious and professional; some were especially delightful and friendly. Wifi was good.

A little more space in the room would have made it more comfortable, especially for those of us who were sharing a room with a spouse. There was little space to put clothes, etc. and bathroom was tight. However, this is not unusual for a European hotel.

Our room was comfortable, we had a corner room with a sea view and balcony. We loved sitting out on the balcony with coffee in the morning looking out at the water. The hotel was low key but we liked its style and its location was terrific - tucked away on a small street right across from the Blue Mosque, but without being too busy. The only drawback was the bathroom; it was so tiny it was hard to close the door and the shower was a handheld nozzle located over an ablution bowl that sprayed water all over the room because there was no adequate curtain to separate it. We would still stay here again because overall we liked the hotel a great deal, but the claustrophobic bathroom and weird shower arrangement is a definite negative. The breakfast was an ample buffet and the indoor/outdoor dining area had a nice view over the water.

Central location with magnificent views of the blue mosque and close to all the main attractions. Spotlessly clean throughout with fresh towels every day. Very friendly professional staff. Well tended terraced gardens. Very good food and service in Sultans restaurant.

The bathroom, although set out like a traditional Hammam was very cramped and awkward to move around. You had to step into the shower to shut the door to get to the toilet. Our room was also quite noisy between 9pm and midnight so could do with better soundproofing.

Great hotel, close proximity to Blue Mosque and Sophia. Beautiful garden inside and a lovely view from a restaurant patio. I would agree with previous reviews that it needs renovation, but it still has some authentic charm the way it is. You get what you paid for as the price is really reasonable for the location and quality. The excellent service and exceptionally helpful and friendly staff compensate for any issues (except one, see above).

Taxi/airport transfer service - it was ok when they picked us from the airport (the car smelled like we were inside a ashtray though) , but what we got on our way back from the hotel to the airport was unacceptable (especially if you compare their price to Uber). The driver was not wearing the mask properly even after I explicitly asked him to do that. What's worse he was coughing all the way to the airport. Do you guys ever test and instruct the drivers on basic safety measures? We did not feel safe at all.

Excellent location in inner city Istanbul, right next to Blue Mosque, quaint courtyard, near all the attractions, close to tram system, property and area clean, well maintained, staff very courteous, helpful , pleasant. Had daily room service, bed was comfortable, room was of great size, fresh yummy breakfast which was incl in our reservation, breakfast area w scenic views. All in all 5 stars experience, highly recommend the property.

The location was perfect. The room we paid for had an amazing view. The staff were extremely hospitable and ensured the stay was exactly what we wanted. They went out of their way to cater to our needs, even on the return day we had an early flight and they provided a packed breakfast, which I thought was really thoughtful and kind.

The bathroom was a little awkward. The hammaam style is all fine but the shower should have been located elsewhere- it was placed over the hammaam, so to hold the shower head with one hand and trying to wash your hair with the other was really awkward, by the time you actually finished it was a right royal wet mess.

The location was fantastic. Views from our balcony of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Only a 5 minute walk to the Blue Mosque; less than 10 to Hagia Sofia. Plenty of nice restaurants within 10-15 walk. Staff was very friendly and efficient.

Bathroom was oddly configured. The building is old (very well maintained), so the bath had to fit in a small space. Totally workable, but a bit awkward.
