This hotel boasts a convenient location, making it easy to access nearby attractions. The staff were generally friendly and accommodating during my stay. The bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's rest. The internet service was reliable, meeting basic connectivity needs. The breakfast was average, not exceeding expectations. Despite minor drawbacks, the hotel's location and amenities made for an overall satisfactory experience.

One notable downside was the thin doors, which resulted in excessive noise from neighboring guests, impacting overall comfort. Additionally, the photos on the website presented a more appealing image of the hotel compared to the reality of the stay. A concerning aspect was the presence of black mold in the bathroom floor, indicating a need for improved cleanliness and maintenance. These factors slightly diminished the overall impression of the hotel.

Very cooperative staff.

The room too compact and even two suitcases could hardly be placed in the room. Light scarce in the room. As there are no table lamps one has to move in the dark from bed to entrance door to light up the room. I nearly fell down twice while doing so. There is no ward robe but only a shelf like stand in upright position. A bit difficult to hang and place one clothes. Otherwise the hotel and its personnel are great.

There is no elevator in the hotel. This was not a problem for us. May not be suitable for elderly people.

Although we arrived early in the morning, the hotel provided early check-in to the room. This was very good for us because we had made a long journey by car. A few minutes walking distance from the center of Sultanahmet. There is a municipal car park across the road from the hotel. Affordable and safe place. Staff was very helpful with parking our car and all other matters. Rooms are newly renovated. It is immaculate and has a very well working air conditioner. I would recommend it to those who are looking for a convenient and small hotel.

Our stay was terrific. Room consisted of 3 parts - bedroom, living room and terrace with a nice view. Managers were great - arranged transportation for us, took care of us, we got a free plate of fruits and bottle of vine. Breakfast was super, with such a selection of different items. Blankets, towels, etc were clean and new. I highly recommend the hotel!!!

I had a good time. I booked a sea view suite and did not regret it. It was exactly what I wanted with its magnificent view, large balcony and comfort. The hotel is in a beautiful location and has very polite staff. I felt safe and comfortable just like at home. The food at breakfast was delicious and suitable for my taste. Wide variety of hot foods, cheeses, cereals, jams, etc.

Everything was fine, I did not encounter any problems.

Since it was our first trip to Istanbul and we did not know about transportation in general, we contacted the hotel and asked for advice. Then the transfer from the airport to the hotel was arranged and it was very comfortable and easy to reach our hotel. We checked into the hotel late at night. The young man at the reception carried our luggage to the room and gave us a map. It is impossible to find fault with the location of the hotel. All bazaars, mosques, palaces and other must-see places are within walking distance. This is a very small but clean and peaceful hotel. We felt comfortable and safe like at home. Room cleaning was done daily. Towels and sheets were always changed and very clean. T here are dozens of restaurants nearby that serve good food at affordable prices. We would definitely like to stay when we come to Istanbul again.

Stairs can be difficult for elderly people

When we decided to spend our winter holiday in Istanbul, we chose the Walnut Shell hotel among thousands of hotels. Upon arrival at the hotel, we realized how right our choice was. We were very well received and all information about the city was given to us upon arrival. It's a small, homey hotel. A few minutes walking distance to all old buildings. The staff is very caring and always smiling. The room was small but clean and had all the necessary equipment. I would recommend it especially to young travelers who want a suitable hotel.

No lift at the hotel, so it may not be suitable for elderly people.

Location is great. It is very close to both the center and the seaside. Istanbul's famous palaces, bazaars and mosques are within a few minutes' walking distance. The room and hotel are very small but clean and quite comfortable. Employees are friendly. The interior of the hotel and especially the lobby part is very nicely decorated. I would recommend it to those who like small, boutique hotels.

Very comfy cozy hotel near Blue Mosque and walking distance to main attractions in Sultanahmet. The staff is very firendly and welcoming. Room is perfect for a short trip - it was cleaned daily even if we only stayed for few days. Breakfast is plenty and delicious.

Location was great, close to city center and mosques. Staff was very helpful and arranged for the transport to and from the airport. We spend 4 nights there and we were satisfied because it was good value for that money.

Hotel has very nice pictures here at booking, reality is slightly different. Rooms are not very big and they would required renovation already. I would recommend to extend breakfast time span.
