The room was good and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfast area is really lovely and the food choices were brilliant. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

There is limited parking at the hotel, but just across the road are a couple of residential streets where I was able to park my car for free - and I felt perfectly happy leaving my car here as it is a nice residential quiet street, I didn't fear anything would happen to it - just slightly inconvenient as I was in town for a wedding and therefore had a fair bit of luggage as my dress was being carried separately in a dress bag so it would have been nice to park closer!

The Abergavenny Hotel is situated on the road into town, easy walking distance to the high Street with other bars and restaurants, but to be honest Ffion the manager runs a great bar in the evening with some superb cocktails - so we tended to relax with a few drinks there.

There really isn't anything to dislike. It is a boutique hotel so you don't get a restaurant, but that is clear when you book it. I would say this is a perfect hotel for those wishing to explore the area and have a comfortable and friendly place to relax at the end of the day.

Pleasant reception and check easy despite 6 emails asking us to check-in online which we refused to do. Parking good and close to town. Very hot day and night. Windows open and expected to hear noise from nearby supermarket and industrial units. However, in the evening the only noise was the flow of water from to small stream outside the windows!!Room was spotless and well thought out with quality tea and coffee available. Wi-Fi excellent and bed comfortable. Check out as required by 11am next day but allowed to leave the car for about an hour longer to look around town. Would certainly book again if in the area.

Room 4 has a few problems with the ensuite .....all simple maintenance jobs. 1. Sink does not hold water. plug does not seal properly. 2. Shower rail unit is loose and coming away from the wall. 3. Shower floor very slippery. A mat was available but not on view in the ensuite. Found rolled up in a cupboard. 4. Temperature control unit on the shower is faulty. Water pulsates and one second it is cold, then boiling and back to cold. Trying to set a steady pleasant and safe temperature was virtually impossible.

The hotel was really lovely. We liked everything about it. The hotel manager/owner was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The bed was very comfortable; the bathroom, spotless....with huge, white, fluffy towels.

The location, next to a tyre company and Aldi wasn't amazing, BUT we were very close to the town centre, so it was almost perfect. We were so lucky to be able to park on the premises too. The one thing that was somewhat disappointing was that the bar, which was lovely, closed at 9.00. We would have gladly stayed on til later and enjoyed a couple more drinks....because the atmosphere was inviting and cosy. By the time we returned from having had our evening meal out, we had very little time to enjoy it.

Very clean, very comfortable in an excellent location. The rooms were modern and spacious and the continental breakfast was very good. Jackie the hotel manager was lovely and couldn’t do more to make our stay as nice as possible. Considering the price this hotel over performed against many others we have stayed at which were double the price.

Some of the tables at breakfast are a little small for two people. The bar in the hotel opens at 3 on a Saturday and we would have preferred it to open a little earlier. However these are just tiny issues.

Pleasant staff, the room while not having a view did have the sound of a babbling steam right outside the window. Spotless room and facilities, a good selection at breakfast and of course dinner at the sister Angel hotel is superb. Adequate space to park one's car. Aldi next door which was handy to pick up a few bits for the day or after a run. The WiFi was fast (40 Mbps on my phone). Lovely surroundings but you'd know that if you're visiting Abergavenny!!

Nothing to improve upon

Ffion went out of her way to make our stay at The Abergavenny Hotel as comfortable and easy going as possible. We appreciated all the information we were given both in the folder in the room and verbally, to enable us to enjoy our first visit to the town. The Continental breakfast buffet was exceptional both in quality of food and drinks and the way it was thoughtfully displayed to give easy access for each item.

Everything was exceptionally good - many thanks.

Well and interestingly decorated. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Although our room had good facilities and was comfortable, the window was broken and couldn't be closed. The location of the hotel meant that parking was limited and the view from the bedroom limited. Feeling like a 'guest house' rather than hotel, there was limited communal area and no bar facilty or staff after about 8.30pm.

The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff were great and showed me where I could get some breakfast the next day as I had to leave really early for a race. I often have to leave early and don't usually find hotels offer me anything for an early breakfast, despite the fact I have often paid for breakfast. The location was perfect for the castle where my event started.

The breakfast was great, whilst being a continental breakfast, it had all you need, including fresh fruits, smoked salmon, delicious bread and more. The staff was very helpful and gave a lot of relevant recommendations in terms of restaurants and places to visit. The hotel is close to the train station and to the town center, which was ideal!
