We stayed two nights, August 27 and 28. Our rooms were very quiet and comfortable and we appreciated the fact that the staff had done as we requested and given us rooms side by side and in a discreet part of the building. I'd like to commend the kitchen staff, especially the chef, for the excellent breakfasts with special mention for the Eggs Benedict and the Scrambled Eggs. Staff at all times provided polite and prompt assistance with special mention for the provision of an icepack to ease my son's back pain after a long drive. I'd have no hesitation recommending this pub to others.

No negatives.

Very conveniently located accommodation for access to Manchester Airport, but with a bit more character than the usual airport hotels. The fairly modern bedroom block has smart, good sized rooms and convenient parking right outside. The pub itself is next door and has a very nice garden area with outdoor dining. We had dinner in the pub, which has a fairly extensive menu, but unfortunately a couple of the more interesting options were not availble on the evening of our stay. The breakfast was superb, with all the standard Full English options, plus croissants etc. and we had scrambled eggs with sour dough toast and smoked salmon, which came in very generous portions and was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The missing items from the dinner menu were a bit of a disappointment.

It's our kind of place - we just love it. We stay here to travel to Old Trafford for cricket & proximity to Manchester airport. It's comfortable, welcoming with a great local atmosphere, a huge beer garden & it's a Robinsons house. We used to live in Wythenshawe which isn't far from Hale Barns, plus I kept a horse in Hale years ago, so we know the area well. Hale Barns has not changed too much over the years &, although we live in North Wales, we still have yearnings for the Cheshire countryside!

I don't like making negative comments. However, there was nowhere to hang coats despite there being space on the wall opposite the bathroom. Also, particularly as the bathroom contained an overbath shower, a handrail is an absolute essential & should be addressed as soon as possible.

Large well appointed room, with very comfortable bed and large well appointed shower/WC. we were on the ground floor , where additional towels, and a fridge with flasks of fresh milk were available for guests to take if required.

for some reason the TV only supplied 4 or 5 kids and obscure channels, which we discoverd when we wanted to watch the News. Having said that, I am sure that had we pointed this out to the staff, it would habe been rectified.

We prefer to avoid airport hotels and opted for the Bulls Head for its friendly size, positive reviews and convenient location just a few minutes' drive from Terminal 1. Overall we were very happy with our choice - and enjoyed a relaxed evening meal in the on-site restaurant. There was no noise problem despite the proximity of the airport. Breakfast was brought to our room right on time. We would certainly stay again if flying from Manchester.

Our only slightly negative comment would be that the 'twin-bedded' arrangement we had requested involved two seemingly exceptionally narrow beds that at least one of us felt required a safety belt!

The rooms have everything you would need, which means you have to bring less stuff with you. The food in the restaurant is amazing- could not fault the food we ordered. We had an early flight and would miss the cooked breakfast which is included. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the offer of a continental breakfast before our departure.

We booked a table in the restaurant in advance. All seemed ok when we went in but we seemed to get missed or there was some confusion as the staff seemed to think we were there for drinks. We did get food in the end and it was excellent. The pastries offer in the continental breakfast were edible just.

Lovely place, rooms a good size, and very clean, friendly and very helpful staff. The TV had a lot more channels than we expected, the breakfast was excellent and we had more than we could eat.

We had a connecting door in our room to the next room. The doors seem to be quite thin, we could hear the person next door snoring through the night, and people walking down the hallway talking through the night, both of which disrupted our sleep, and my husband isn't a light sleeper. No plugs near the bed so mobiles have to be charged across the room.

The location of Pub & Lodge is within easy reach for local town, local football club which we were attending, The rooms are of a good size, modern & very clean, bathroom is a good size too, bed was comfy to wake up fully rested Foods& Drinks in attached Pub were of good quality, good value for money & service was good even on a busy Saturday evening!

There really isn't anything we can fault. From check in to check out everything was very much more than acceptable. A very nice place to visit & stay!

Everything was perfect for an overnight stay. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Next time I'll make sure that I arrive in time for dinner as well. Just for info, £10 in a taxi from Manchester airport railway station to hotel, taxi hotel to terminal 2 £16. There were lots of little extras in the room, tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits, spring water. Fresh milk in a fridge next to reception.

Great size room with tea making facilities and extras available at reception. Clean and comfortable and friendly staff. We ordered room service from the pub on the evening which was lovely and delivered quickly. Breakfast was also really good and the pub itself is very nice. Brilliant location for airport

Would have preferred breakfast before 8am due to flying so we could enjoy it longer but otherwise nothing!
