Car park. Parking in the lakes is a nightmare. So grateful for that luxury. Breakfast was very good. Service was really good, friendly and happy to share information of local highlight etc.

Breakfast window only being available for 1 hour. Nowhere to sit outside with a glass of wine and relax. Would have preferred a fridge in our room. Elder Grove is a bit on the tired side. Expensive...however the lakes is renowned for being ridiculously priced. Finally I would return to Elder Grove but not at peak season. Our idilic ideas of visiting different locations were dashed because we couldn't get parked anywhere. Waste of time. Cumbria need to address the parking discs/app parking/card paying machines and disabled parking and more parking in general.

Amazing experience. Breakfast with local sourced products, next to Ambleside pier, main village bus stop, hiking trails all around, easy parking on site and nearby restaurants. We were pleased with this B&B and will easily book it again if in Lake District.

We got back to the hotel earlier after a hiking and decided to have shower around 2PM, but we struggled with the hot water on this day. Once I spoke with their staff, they were surprised and said they would look into the issue, which they believe to be related to the water pump. Since it was something that happened only 1 day (out of 4), I believe issues happen and we didn't come across it again.

Great location in Ambleside, easy to park and a friendly check in. The room / bathroom was to a very high standard and everything that you need is provided. We were really pleased to find a fan in the wardrobe which came in useful. The toiletries in the bathroom felt luxurious and there was a variety of teas / coffee / hot chocolate to choose from. The honesty bar is a great idea (although we didn’t get chance to use it during our stay) and breakfast was lovely too.

We loved the breakfast every morning. Lots of choice and cooked to perfection in a beautiful breakfast room. It was served be a very attentive and entertaining host! (Mathew) The room was immaculate and very well appointed. The bed was extremely comfy; as was the small seating area in our room. The bathroom and shower were fantastic. The location is perfect. A 10 minute walk down to Windermere and a 5 minute walk to many, many pubs!

The only thing that could have made this amazing stay better would have been a slightly thinner duvet on the bed. As when we stayed the weather was fantastic, but the nights were rather warm! (Although we didn't ask if one was available)

Perfect location for a short walk into the town centre of Ambleside. Bathroom and bedroom modern and well kept. No faults to be noted. Staff accommodating to dietary and pregnancy needs/requests. Bonus points for waterfall shower head, lovely shower products provided giving a ‘spa’ experience to the senses. Breakfast was delicious. Lovely fresh fruit salad available, soya milk on request and homemade marmalade was a hit!

Full breakfast was delicious however we would have loved to have had baked beans on the cooked breakfast option. Sadly staff confirmed no beans on the premises to accommodate query to add. Can’t fault anything else otherwise and this was that minor it made no impact to reviewing to return again.

Really pleased with everything. The rooms were lovely with everything you could need and the owners were helpful and attentive. There was lots of choice for breakfast and the full English was great! The location is perfect for day time activities as well as being walkable to lots of restaurants and pubs for the evening. Will definitely recommend.

Nothing.

Excellent location, just a short walk from the town centre. The room was spotlessly cleaned The staff, a husband and wife team were ever so friendly and welcoming, couldn't do enough for you. Be sure to ask for the discount card they have, 10% off at certain restaurants.

Not a criticism, but we were in room 10, top floor, up four flights of stairs. So if you do have any mobility issues, ask for a room on the ground floor.

We were upgraded to a king room which was great. Excellent bathroom with all toiletries and fluffy towels. Appreciated the light mirror with shaver socket. Also appreciated the room dockets by the bed and mirror with usb points. Great large wall mounted TV. nice refreshment tray and touches like a muddy boot tray. Breakfast was delicious. Friendly hosts. Private parking.

Parking a bit tight but managed.

Our first stay at a B&B opposed to a cottage, had four great nights at Elder Grove, over the jubilee holiday. We stayed in the junior suite, which was immaculate and a great size for all our walking gear. Matthew is a great front of house, supported by Lucy (the boss) who cooks the best breakfast we have ever had, and we have had lots. We will be staying here again!

Absolutely nothing, great B&B, room large and very clean. Room for all our walking gear, amazing hosts and the best breakfast ever. Onsite parking in Ableside is a bonus.

Great location. Very clean comfortable room.Thoughtful room ideas such as USB chargers and lots of accessible plug sockets. Fan in the room. Nice clean bathroom with a small light and heated towel rail. Tasty breakfast with nice fresh fruit and muesli. I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Ambleside. It's own car park too.

Nothing to dislike.
