Everywhere in the hotel was very clean and decorated very nicely. The food was lovely. The afternoon tea was outstanding. The bedroom was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was exceptionally dog friendly. The grounds were lovely. Overall, a nice hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.

The food was really good throughout our stay, but a little on the expensive side. We had a rubbish view of the car park from our room, but it was a lovely room regardless. The lounge and bar had absolutely no atmosphere at all and was so quiet, but I don't know what the hotel could do to improve this? Maybe have more ambient lighting and lamps of an evening with a couple of log fires, rather than just the same bright lighting?

Good location nice room staff were really trying hard

Dinner food was very average. Too many yappy dogs. Wine too expensive.

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was lovely and all members of staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, everyone seemed to go out of their way for us. A dog friendly hotel which we didn't mind at all (but understand this might not be for everyone). Lovely gardens and a farm which backs onto the hotel. The bar had a good selection of drinks Free parking and good for people who like to hike.

Bit far away from anything but that was our fault for not checking- on the plus side there was a taxi service we used regularly to go into Windemere and Ambleside.

The staff were really lovely ,especially Eshitha who went the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we really appreciated that. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained . Our room was spacious and so was the bathroom. We ate in the bar and the food didn't disappoint, it was well presented piping hot and not over priced. The breakfast was first rate and there was plenty of it. The grounds are well kept and pretty. The car park is large and is close to the reception. The location of the hotel is ideal for getting to all of the things the Lakes have to offer.

Nothing our stay was very relaxing with no problems at all.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Nicely furnished & comfortable lounge area. Our bedroom was spacious, a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom modern with shower over bathtub, lots of natural light from skylight window. Housekeeping very efficient & room cleaning complete whilst we had breakfast, no intrusion on privacy. Beautiful garden area with outdoor seating.

The dining room was very pleasant with a garden view. The breakfast was served in a friendly & timely manner and was a fair standard. However we ate in the restaurant on Friday & Saturday evenings we were a little disappointed on the Saturday very few people eating there and our meals weren’t the best. A bar menu option would have been nice.

Myself my daughter and our miniature poodle loved the grounds especially as we had access from our room to pop out whenever we wanted with our fur baby. The room was very stylish and was very clean. My daughter loved the sweets left for her and our fur baby loved his little gift left with a new ball for him which he loved playing with on the evening. There was plenty of parking at the property and we got a very warm welcome on arrival. Our fur baby also loved the fuss he got from the staff. It was a perfect hotel to travel with our fur baby. This is the reason we chose this hotel. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming.

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t enjoy on our stay.

the staff were all very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly

the public areas had little warmth or personality. having stayed in a number of country house hotels on The Lakes the lack of a real country house authentic feel really let this one down we felt.

We were attending a wedding nearby so just needed one night's accommodation. They allowed us to park there early and said we could leave bags earlier than check-in if we wished. The small room was furnished with a luxurious feel and a comfortable bed. Breakfast (included) was delicious and served by happy and friendly staff. We loved it!

The only problem we had was the temperature in the room. The radiator in the en-suite didn't turn off and as the door had been left open, it heated the bedroom uncomfortably. It was the middle of the night so we shut the door and opened a bedroom window which worked perfectly to cool the room for a good night's sleep.

My family and I booked a stay to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary. The hotel Manager, Paul, and all the staff members were absolutely fabulous. They arranged a private dinning room for us all and were very accommodating. The meal was superb and the service was equally fantastic. Our room was very nicely decorated, modern, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of options to choose from.

Only the bar prices, but I think they are similar everywhere in the Lakes.
