Location is amazing. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Room very comfortable.

No outside lights at the front overlooking the lake. Could have been dangerous because of the steps.. Breakfast orange on two mornings was just diluted orange. Hotel has been refurbished since last visit and has lost its character unfortunately.

Why do hotels believe that that their customers want music played all the time and everywhere one is within the hotel. I don't want music with my meals especially at a pitch where conversation around the table is drowned out.

Hot food was brilliant on the first morning, not so hot on the next two days. First day there was no fresh fruit, but some on the others mornings

Stairs, lift out of action. Lack of light and small window in the room, didn’t open the window as it was next to an extraction tube, room got a bit warm at night.

Bedroom was the best I’ve stayed in - lovely refurb - comfiest bed and clean - you got it right guys!!

Location is excellent at the top of Lake Windermere. We had a view of the lake from our room so very pleased with that. Room was adequately spacious and comfortable. Staff always very friendly and available. Over all the hotel suited and provided all we required. Dog friendly hotel. We don't have a dog but appreciated the restaurant separating those with dogs from those who don't.

I do accept that supply and demand will push prices beyond the norm and I would say the price we paid was more than this hotel would have charged in a pre-Covid world. The one meal we ate at the hotel on the first evening was nothing exceptional and compared to other meals we had locally, was a good 10-15% more expensive.

All the areas were clean, modern and comfortable. Our room was of a good standard and had just been refurbished so the decoration, carpet and furniture were in excellent condiditon. The bathroom was modern and I liked the fact that the towel rail was set at a constant temperature to keep the room comfortable and towels dry.

There were issues with the evening menue and many items were unavailable. This was because the hotel had only been open a week since its refurbishment and the food orders were not coming in for when they were most needed. Something that I am sure will be addressed before too long. The breakfast selection, if you don't eat cooked food, was poor and needs reconsidering.

Fabulous location overlooking the lake, a short walk into Ambleside town centre and perfect for getting the boat across the lake. Rooms are newly decorated and looked beautiful, very clean and well appointed. Dining room also newly decorated, stylish colour palette and beautiful fabrics. Good breakfast, staff accommodated our special dietary requirements. Dogs were welcome throughout the Inn. Plenty of parking onsite, at no extra cost.

There's no mini-fridge in the room. Dinner in the restaurant was not great value for money - portions were very small for the price. That said, the food was well prepared and tasty.

Brilliant location overlooking the lake. Lovely feel to the hotel room/bar areas. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and nice quality. Hot and cold available. Plenty of staff to help clear tables and refill when needed without feeling we needed to hurry up! Witnessed them being very helpful to other residents that needed a little help and also when we arrived there was someone else when booking in that seemed to have a mix up and they went out of their way to help and not to worry the elderly guest.

parking isn’t the best but they are limited with what they have. Would maybe state there was parking at front and back at the hotel which we weren’t aware of so actually paid for parking when we arrived when we saw there’s was full. Re evening food Personally we would have like some of the smaller plates that seemed to stop at 17.00 as didnt always wanted a “big meal” in the evening. Or some other bar snack options. Also noticed not a lot of vegan/vegetarian options in the evening which was also mentioned by the table next to us!

The hotel is in a gorgeous location right by Waterhead Pier, so perfect for sailing on Windermere. The buses (which are frequent and run all the way into late evening) also stop just across the road, so you can relax and get there with no need for a car - a real rarity outside the city. Hotel staff were pleasant and were good at making time for guests, making time to chat and they were also sensible enough to open extra check-in points at the bar for arriving guests when it started to get busy. They serve a great mixed hot and cold breakfast buffet with traditional British cooked options and tasty pastries. I appreciated extra thoughtful touches such as cafetiere coffee being kept hot on hot plates - tepid coffee is often a problem in hotels - and the hot buffet items were replenished, even towards the end of breakfast time, after 9am. I loved the room - not twee or overly 'rustic', but simple and spacious with a few images of the Windermere region on the walls to give a local touch.

I have very few complaints. In the room it would have been nice to have Lake District toiletries instead of the Scottish ones, which I could buy back home. Perhaps there could be more vegetarian and vegan breakfast offerings presented up front as well.
