I really enjoyed my stay, this is a charming site and a good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. It was fun to stay in a place with so much history, too--a mural from 1646 above the fireplace in the dining room! I had two very nice meals, with lovely service, in the restaurant as well. I would certainly stay here again if the opportunity to be in Ampthill presented itself again.

I don't mind most features of an old building--for me the occasional low ceiling and uneven floor just adds to the charm. However, I will say that my room (#8) was fairly drafty, especially the bathroom (my stay was in November). I was still quite happy with my stay--I would stay here again--but very glad that I'd brought thick socks!

An attractive room with good facilities. Clean and well appointed. Quality pub food served for dinner from an extensive menu. I did not eat breakfast. An old building that had been imaginatively converted. A perfect location for a performance driving course I had booked for 8:30am the following day at Millbrook Proving Ground, just six minutes away by car.

The age of the building meant there was a very low door frame between the bedroom and bathroom. Although it was pointed out that at six foot three I needed to mind my head. The absence of parking at the property was a bit of a problem as there were also no spaces either in the nearby, small, public car park, which was pay and display 24/7, despite my only needing to park overnight.

Dinner meat meals were okay though The beer was lovely (Olivers ? I think). Breakfast veggie avocado was very nice

dinner was disappointing as the yorkshire pudding did not seem fresh and the veggie baked beetroot not very tasty. The cappuccino had no froth so disappointing as it's nice to finish a meal with a good coffee. meat option sausages not very nice apparently. The tea was very weak indeed - you need to put at least 2 of those T bags per person AND one for the pot. I had a Tbag in the room and it was the same disappointingly weak. The iced T was so weak it was completely tasteless

Second time staying here for work meetings nearby. Charming and classic Inn in a typical and charming old English town. The room accommodations were quirky and unique, clean and comfortable. In the middle of the cold winter, the heater was more than adequate. Good Wifi, TV package, and teas, cookies, etc., in the room. The restaurant and pub downstairs is excellent, worth going to and popular with locals and visitors who are not staying at the Inn. Good and classic pub, high-level restaurant (enjoyed my dinner there very much!) and the breakfast is also a gourmet experience. Friendly and efficient staff all around. Some other good restaurant and pub options very walkable. Would recommend Inn, Pub or Restaurant to anyone.

Little to no complaints, really. In mid-January, the bathroom area was cold (no heater like in the bedroom area) but for a building of this age, that's part of the expectation. No direct train station access but easy and regular bus access or taxi to Flitwick, so no problem. Everything else really excellent.

The staff were very friendly and nice. The room was spacious and very nicely decorated and gge bed was comfortable, pillows were good and firm enough. We had dinner (not included) and breakfast (included in yhe price of the room) and the food was excellent. The portions were generous without being too large, and both dinner and breakfast were really delicious. The chef clearly enjoyed his work, and the quality of the ingredients was also clearly really good. Overall, it was all very good value for money.

Although, this is not something the owners could necessarily do much about without significant work, the room we stayed in was not level at all. The floor dipped by as much as about 15-20 cm from one end to the other, which was very disorientating. As a result, the bed was effectively on an incline, with the headboard at a lower level then the foot, so when I lied down it felt like the blood was rushing into my head. This made it a bit more difficult getting to sleep and made me feel quite disorientated and weird overnight.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the White Hart, on arrival we found the Staff to be very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and all the toiletries that you need and a hairdryer and straighteners too!! The cooked breakfasts were delicious and we have to say that of all the many B&B's we have stayed at, this was the best that we have had and the menu choice was exceptional! The reason for our stay was to visit relatives living locally so we didn't have an evening meal in the restaurant, therefore we cannot comment on that but with the breakfasts being so good, we are sure that the meals will be just as delicious.

There wasn't anything not to like

The White Hart is an old building, but the room was well furnished and comfy. Perhaps a little dim re. lights in the evening but comfy bed and good bath/shower room. Breakfast excellent - do get a package with this included. Only minor point is lack of car park - although the nearest is only 1 minute away pay and display. Also a good base for Centre Parcs - we were visiting family there - only 7 minutes drive.

The room was well appointed and designed. The food served both at dinner and breakfast was great and above all the staff could not have been more helpful and considerate.

we loved staying at the White Hart - I guess the only point to make which was not a problem for us at all is that communal areas are in the pub which is clearly a thriving local asset especially for brunch. so might not suit someone seeking peace and quiet.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was very good I chose the Full breakfast which was very good.

We stayed in Room 7 the lock on the door was a little tricky to unlock. Also alot of stairs up to the room if we return we will stay in a lower room.

Great accommodation in the lovely little market town of Ampthill. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing in the bar with a drink and later on had a wonderful meal in the pub's restaurant. We really liked our freshly cooked breakfast too. Without exception all the staff throughout our stay were helpful, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I hadn't realised that the pub didn't have its own carpark, however, just a few steps away there was a pay and display carpark, which was fine.
