Breakfast was good and the restaurant location for it is beautiful. The raised views over the river and town are wonderful.

Staff very helpful and nothing too much of an ask. Rooms modern and generally well kept. Clean. I stayed both in a ‘small’ standard room and larger standard room. Small was perfect for me as I was working so stayed alone. Larger standard is a really good size and I would be happy to stay in there as a family. Breakfast was yummy, fairly small area but enough choice for sure. Dinner also lovely!

Downside is location. Again perfect for getting to where I needed to be at work, also nice view of the river. However not a particularly nice place to walk around, not many appealing places especially if you want to eat outside of hotel. I would not be walking around that town centre past dark as I just wouldn’t feel safe. (just over bridge). I think to stay here it is perfect for a base if you have somewhere you need to be.

Our second stay at The Mercure and the expectations on our last visit were low, as it scored so well first time round. But we had a better room with a river view, the staff were so accommodating and welcoming. Arrange a complimentary drink on arrival while signing up to their awards scheme. Nothing any trouble at all. Room was spacious and as before.

The bathroom layout was a bit strange with a narrow tiled corridor between the washbasin area and the toilet/shower area. The shower was a double walk in shower - beautiful. If you were slightly larger, or in the dark, the gap to walk to/from both areas was narrow. I left bathroom light on at night (which I rarely do) as was worried if stumbled in dark it may be dangerous.

Friendly staff.

We had to ask for complimentary water which ed didn’t realise and the baby cot took a long time to get to the room. We expected it to be in the room already as we had requested it. The knock on effect was that by the time the cot came, had to put together eytc, the toddler, who usually sleeps well anywhere, took ages to get down and didn’t get a good sleep. Dampened the eve for the parents and the family. It would have made a huge difference to have the cot already in a room as we were already running late!

Friendly helpful staff. Loved the continental style of the hotel lobby, we ate our meal looking over the Great river Ouse watching the swans. Reasonable prices for food & drinks. The double room was spacious lovely neutral decor with a great bathroom large shower ,bed was extremely comfortable. To note the hotel has a car park (apart from where it was situated which was why we chose it) it was £5.00 for an over night stay not extortionate but we didn't see anything whilst booking on their site about payment being required.

The only issue was returning to our room late evening after our concert the door card key wouldn't work ,which we found quite funny & thought we were doing something wrong, my husband went down to reception & the key had lost its charge so quickly resolved.

It's been a luxurious experience, the room and all the facilities I've been using, have been above my expectation. Cleanless is a must for me whenever I go and I'm happy i find everithing professionally clean. Staff have been helpful and professional as well. I will defenitelly recommend this hotel to friends and family that want to come to visit Bedford as well :)

Just two (not so) negative notes, but I don't mind because in the end anything else was good and it won't stop me to come again. For the price I paid I was expecting a room with the river view but in the end I loved the room I had. And the breakfast buffet, I was expecting it to be more rich but I appreciated everithing in the end and was the only reason I was waking up earlier everyday considering I had work starting later in the day and enjoied it with the river view (that paid off the not present said view in the room)

Location was lovely, just visited Santa Pod so it was on our way back home. Room was big, bed was a great size and very comfortable, tea & coffee making facilities and also a small fridge. Air conditioning was lovely especially as it was one of the hottest days of the year! We had an evening meal which was nice and the breakfast was lovely, everything from fruit to cooked English. Could not fault the staff, they were all lovely, friendly and helpful.

Windows could of done with a clean and it was a bit worn in places but nothing major to complain about.

I like the receptionists, great welcome and very professional . Very qick check in no questions needed I like personalised note for each guest with little sweet next to eat Room are very clean and comfortable with beautiful views

Everything's was great till i visit Hotel Restaurant with my friend Unfortunately was disappointed No one there to welcome us or give the menu after while the waiter ask if we ready to order but problem's was that we dint have any menu! When we received menu was only one and lady trow the menu on the table !? And of course wasn't any drink menu!!? We order food and bottle of wine the glasses was dirty and waiter don't know about customers service! Is such a shame because from the moment i check in the hotel was really nice but Restaurant Hotel is huge question mark and they really need training in hospitality!! I will definitely not visit the restaurant again

The room did have a genuinely lovely view, the lovely weather and being able to look over the river with the church in the distance, was a delight. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was well-appointed. What I will say is that the staff, particularly Mehar and the lady on shift behind the bar whose name I didn't catch, were so incredibly polite and welcoming and went above and beyond to make the stay relaxing and fun.

The outside looks horrendous, it desperately needs a face lift, we honestly didn't think it was our hotel from the website, thankfully the interior is a different story. A few things need a little attention like the dodgy curtain rail and a missing tap fitment and one of the chairs could do with a bit of a spruce up but, honestly, that's really nit picking.

Booked a premier room as staying 4 nights - lots of space, big bed, friut and cake complimentary arrival platter, pod coffee machine. All the staff were very helpful and informative, Car park was good, and good price (£5 a night) River view from room and restaurant amazing

Not at all busy, so bar and restaurant atmosphere was lacking.Skeleton staff at night to sort out restaurer- they did bar, ran up and downstairs to serve customers there, took orders and clear tables. but not always in the right place at the right time! Really didn't like the beggar on the steps of the hotel when we came back at 9,30pm Also thought the charge for breakfast was a rip off - £18 each for a very nice breakfast buffet, but certainly not worth £18. Fell for it first morning - had an Easter hot cross bun from a supermarket and a nice cup of posh coffee courtesy of the pod machine in our room the next 2 days
