beautiful setting and lovely grounds, parking available, very nice pool and lounging area and good spa, short walk into Bath. The bedroom was comfortable and stylish with water, tea and coffee provided

the only problem we encountered was the breakfast which was shambolic. we were asked if we would like toast and replied yes please but it never arrived even though we asked several times! my coffee was full of grounds as the cafetière was broken, again I had to ask several times for replacement coffee and a fresh cup. the cooked breakfast was ok but not great.we mentioned this to the receptionist on checking out but he was very monosyllabic and didn’t seem interested, no apology was forthcoming and we left on a low note!

Room was comfortable and spacious. Spa pool was very good and the grounds were beautiful. Breakfast in the room. Hotel is within walking distance of the city centre and you can park your car easily in the spacious car park. The staff were all very friendly & helpful.

Checking in/out system needs to be sharpened up as there were lots of very unhappy looking clients in a long queue waiting to check in and check out. We were very lucky and seem to have missed the queues fortunately. Warners use a much more slick system. Whole hotel needs closing for a spruce up eg painting, decorating, woodwork replacing etc as it is looking rather tired. Our bathroom badly needed painting, re grouting etc.Not a five star because of the need for decoration.

The room service menu needs some work. Not the quality that matched the grounds. Also the spa was busy, should be exclusive to staying customers not open to public

The peacefulness of the hotel

Not much thought into what disability means as every person has different needs & making assumptions by housekeeping can be quite insulting & disappointing when you have to spend the first hour of your holiday finding a room in the hotel to suit your needs as your suite which you requested has been given to someone else all because you requested a room with wheelchair access & a walk in shower which obviously means to some people you can be put in a dark room in the back of the separate annex to the main hotel building with very steep paths to get too & no parking facilities!!! Not acceptable from a 4⭐️ hotel. I will look forward to your comments & my adjusted payment refund!!!

Beautiful surroundings and extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Poor management. We arrived to no concierge who apparently had decided to just not show up, which continued the duration of our stay. The young lady in reception while extremely competent and dealt with the whole situation calmly and professionally, even though having quite a few grumbling guests waiting for attention. What annoyed me was the fact that management had not seen this and put at least one other person on reception and at least later in the stay found someone to cover the concierge and valet duties. Every visit to the colonnade bar resulted in a ten to fifteen minute wait followed by a trip to reception to enquire about any service in the bar. Please do not misunderstand me, once there the staff were excellent. This is purely to bring very poor management to light.

The breakfast and all other meals were amazing Staff were incredible best service always with a genuine smile and always very well presented The food was delicious great range and fresh ... nothing was ever a problem they did anything you asked was early for breakfast still setting up so sat in another stunning room with Christmas trees made coffees and came and let us know when could come in... The whole building as big as it is was so well decorated for Christmas .... The Spa and pool were clean and really nice to be in there were 4 steam and sauna rooms all at different temperatures to suit everyone ice showers really refreshed .... whole experience was amazing

Wonderful atmosphere, relaxing. Spa was amazing. There were elemis products to enjoy in your room and bathrooms with the spa selling products too, both the pools were divine with ample loungers to use. Hotel was easy to find and plenty of parking. Rooms are generous and very comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee available. Staff were really welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, much better in my opinion as a buffet for the full English. Bar menu offered a good selection of food. For the less mobile a taxi to the Abbey was £7. Lovely well tended gardens.

Vellore restaurant for an evening meal was a disappointment, this needs some rethinking, perhaps a survey on the foods the guests would like to see, it offered a small selection of dishes, and if you wish to add potatoes/vegetables for example it's charged separately, this should be included, definitely does not fit with the standard of the hotel sadly.

Great to find a hotel in Bath with a free car park. The hotel is impressive, with well maintained communal areas. Good value for money.

The path from the hotel to the main road was poorly maintained, often treacherous due to pot holes and poorly lit after dark. We were forced to use the road with path and deal with oncoming traffic which was also poorly lit. Our room did not not have a working extractor fan in the bathroom. This was mentioned to the reception team, but nothing was done about it. We were on the ground floor and the water drained very slowly when in the shower. All things we would not expect in a hotel of this calibre.

The property is just beautiful, we last stayed back in 2018 and still just as lovely as it was then. This was a stay for our honeymoon and the towels were in shape of swans with rose petals. Beautiful touch!

The breakfast wasn’t as great at it used to be. The hash browns were very floppy but overall it was ok :-)

Beautiful hotel in stunning location. Perfect for views and walks. Staff all friendly, hotel extremely clean. Although old building, decor and condition above expected. Lovely spa and the full body massage excellent. Deluxe room, amazing hot shower, large bath, comfy bed, slept amazing

Sadly some of the spa rooms sauna etc out of order so made using the working ones get really crammed, full etc. Some of the clients little disrespectful, shouting, messing about in the pools when others were trying to relax. Listened to a group of 4 women who spoke nothing but negativity about their current partners, those poor men deserve better, very depressing.
