The room was exceptional was clean and comfortable the staff were polite I would stay there again
The garden and seating area could do with a good clean and make it more presentable as it was very messy and the cushions were not settable also I had to call the staff to remove a guy from the back of the garden area people from the street come in from the garage entrance which I found to be unsafe for the people that stay at the hotel even though one of the staff removed the guy from the premises other than that the hotel is lovely

Fab historical hotel located in the centre of Bournemouth. Staff were friendly and professional. Our room was spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend.
Only downside was the floorboards in our room were very creaky, but the hotel is from the 1840s so it is to be expected and would not put me off staying again.

A great location in the heart of the city centre, with a car park which we pre-booked. Ideal for anyone staying to see the Christmas market. Large, comfortable, well serviced rooms and friendly staff. The hotel had been beautifully decorated for Christmas. There is a comfortable lounge area with a hotel bar offering very reasonably priced drinks - perfect to relax in pre- or post-dinner. Miguel was such great fun and completely made our hotel drinks evening! Bournemouth offers plenty of restaurants a few minutes' walking distance to choose from - we ate at three great eateries: Zizzi, Lola's Restaurant (Spanish Tapas) and Kala Thai.
Breakfast was quite simple and the same menu each day.

The room was lovely, pool was great, location absolutely fantastic for convenience shops and Tesco plus short walk to the beach. Staff were helpful and kind at all times, really professional. We were on a family trip and would love to book again in future. The location and room size and beds are perfect for families. Loved everything about the hotel, had a very regal feel interior yet modern and well kept.
From the Tesco down below, round the corner from the hotel it is a really short 2 min walk, but the road the hotel is located on is super uphill and steep - not the hotels fault as Bournemouth is like a hill walk in most places.

I thought it was an absolutely beautiful hotel with great facilities and a very good price for a 4 star hotel. The pool and jacuzzi were great, the restaurant was fantastic and the food was great quality and tasted amazing, would definitely recommend the breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and made you feel very welcome.
The only shame was that the sauna and steam room weren't working when I went and the showers close to the pool were running cold.

The room was huge! And it was beautiful, the hotel listened to our request and gave us a really wonderful room where we could sit and watch the world go by in the morning. The hotel is really really close to the centre of Bournemouth.
The bathroom was a bit odd - it had a really weird smell after 1 day of being there, as if the drains weren't clearing which left me feeling a bit sick. But we kept the bathroom door shut as much as possible, and didn't use the shower as much as we normally would. Also the layout was a bit tricky to shut the windows when the weather turned really cold.

We had a great weekend for our boy’s 4th birthday. The hotel and facilities were great, our room with bunk bed was great and location was central. The hotel has its own underground parking which we prepaid via their pre-stay email. On departure, the hotel gave a small gift and card which was really unexpected and kind. Lots to do in the area we went to the pier, the oceanarium, upside down house, out for dinner and drove out to splashdown water park. I won’t add the photos here as they all include our little boy but we had a good stay.
There’s nothing I’d fault, we had a good stay.

Absolutely loved the character of the hotel. (it really made me want to look into its history) It has a good feel as soon as you walk in. Staff were really friendly and explained everything upon checking in. The kids wanted to have a swim as soon as we arrived! 😄 The room we stayed in was a good size, the beds were really comfy and the shower was amazing! The hotels location is perfect just a 10 minute walk through the grass parks to the beach and a 2 minute walk and your on the side streets of restaurants. Thank you Norfolk Royale I am Definitely booking to stay again.
The hotel has SO much lovely character it deserves to have a little bit of a deep clean here and there. Not a dislike but the pool area could do with a little tlc. 💝 sitting back relaxing in the jacuzzi you can imagine what the hotel would of been like many many years ago. 🥰 One little thing our room needed was a good dusting, nothing to moan about the actual room was clean just dusty. I did read a review that put me in two minds booking this hotel but I'm so pleased I did. 😊

I booked a twin room and it was a very good size. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great, only a short walk to The Square. The pool and Jacuzzi were lovely although the pool was a bit small. Had a nice garden so we could sit outside and have drinks.
I think it was a bit over priced. There seemed to be a coach party in the hotel and a lot of the cliental were elderly and there were a lot of wheel chairs and electric scooters everywhere. Breakfast was disappointing, there wasn't much choice , so that was a shame. However we enjoyed ourselves and would stay here again.
