Location was great, breakfasts were fantastic and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Disability en suite bathroom was easily accessible.

Having no option but to pay, on arrival, £8 a day for parking, without a guarantee that there’d be room to park. Fortunately there was room each day but if there wasn’t, we were told we would have had to pay to park elsewhere, with no refund! Receptionist told us to try and leave the car in the car park as much as possible, as the hotel is close to shops and the beach but who goes on holiday and stays within walking distance of the hotel for 10 days! Especially with a disabled person in our party who needs to use the car often! Access to the hotel from the car park is either by steps or a very steep slope, not good for disabled people.

The Location is perfect for the beach and shopping centre It was also closer to the venue my conference was being held at than I thought, great touch It's not your high end hotel but certainly delivers what you pay for. I was actually put off by some of the reviews but it's a grand old building, staff are pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay there again and I will definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Bournemouth

Can't say I didn't like anything It small things that could be easily fixed, my bed was on Wheels which meant it kept moving backward and forwards when bumped into or sat on Water mark on ceiling

The location was very good, did not have breakfast went out for that, as I booked the hotel for myself and a friend was surprised that you gave her an upgrade and not me the main person booking, could you tell me the reason for that although she was delighted, The Reception and night staff were superb, music night was brilliant but did not realise we had to book a table luckily we found a table near the dance floor, the bar staff were also superb hardly any waiting, the band were excellent

Some of hotel smelt a little musty but to be expected with an old building, nothing else untoward

All staff profesional and polite, the room was made up each day and cleaned , ( EXCELENT CLEANING LADY WAS ABSOLUTLY SPOTLESS EVER DAY) I did not try the breakfast. The Bar is very nice and very comfortable, Prices was on par with all others in that area. AGAIN all staff in bar excellent.

its not a big problem but i dont like having to order breakfast the night before. this is why i never tried it.

The room was more than big enough for my needs and the bed was so comfortable. The sink is in the bedroom as the bathroom isn't big enough to accomdate it. As it's an old building it's to be expected along with creaky floorboards. This wasn't too much of an inconvience and it adds 'character' to the room and experience.

My room was almost above the night club so Friday night it was very loud. I thought it was going to keep me awake but as I was very tired I feel asleep before I knew it. If you're a light sleeper it might be best to ask for a room that's not above the night club or don't book a Friday night.

The hotel was in a perfect location & was exceptional in every way. It was spotlessly clean & the staff were very polite, friendly & helpful from the people who made up the rooms, to the staff who served breakfast, the bar staff, reception staff & hotel manager all were brilliant. The food was delicious & our rooms were made up every morning while we were at breakfast. This was the second time we've stayed here & I've already booked our next stay. Top notch hotel perfectly run so will continue to return.

Fantastic location and awesome onsite parking for £8. I was made aware that weekends are extremely noisy with the bar below ( sometimes going on till 5 am!!) but when I stayed on Sunday night, it was lovely and quiet. I actually booked a single bedroom and I was really surprised when I got my room and it was a decent double double bedroom with a large bathroom with a view over Bournemouth, pier and the sea. Well worth the money

I think how do I have been there on a Friday or Saturday night I would not have got much sleep, because of the weekend nightclub noise and having to have your windows closed as a result making the room is very hot. Just to make people aware.

Location excellent, 5 - 10 mins taxi from rail station (£7-9), easy walking time access to many amenities Hotel staff friendly and welcoming, willing to help with information, ordering taxi etc, Alan and rest of reception staff helpful and friendly, allow to leave bags if not traveling immediately on check out Hotel has 2 bars, 1 inside , 1 immediately next door which also reverts to nightclub(free entrance for residents of hotel) open til 4-5 am Room satisfactory, bed comfortable, strong shower, daily cleaning by friendly Philippines staff I thought hotel was clean and very satisfied with my stay Definitely recommend and will have no hesitation to return

Nothing to dislike from my point of view

Lovely hotel. The hotel itself is really nice where you can feel its history (in a good way, not everything need to be new to be nice! Especially on buildings!) The place was very clean and the staff was really nice and quick. There is always someone at the reception if you need anything and even the rooms cleaning staff were smiley and polite. From reading all the previous reviews, i was a little prepared for noise but when I booked, they sent a very informative message to ensure I know about possible noise level and I was able to check beforehand if there are any events the evening I stayed, which luckily there wasn't, so bars closed around 12.30. Either way, there was hardly any noise at all anyway! I booked the cheapest single room I could see there and was given a double when I arrived which was a gain :) the room was located where I could see a little of the sea, location was close to shops and the beach too. Cannot complain about anything!

Staying at The Royal Exeter just made our 2 night visit to Bournemouth all the more enjoyable. We were attending a show at The BIC which was directly opposite, so an excellent position. Nice central location for the town. Comfy room, suitably spacious. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely nightclub within the hotel. Excellent cocktails and drinks although quite expensive.

We enjoyed our cooked breakfasts, however, were disappointed with the lack of pastries available. There was a display with just 4 croissants on for all the people in the restaurant at breakfast. Which is fine if they are quickly replenished, I had to ask for some and was told it would take 15 mins to cook them. Again, lovely to have fresh pastries but they should have been ready. Clearly 4 was not nearly enough for many more people. Small gripe, can be easily sorted.
