Very friendly welcome from the staff, car parking right outside, a short walk into town, excellent breakfast was included. We also had dinner there which was delicious. We had a lovely private space in the Rosemary suite on top floor including bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a living room with sofa, tv and kitchen facilities

Room was initially very hot, but we managed to cool it down with the windows open - note there is a switch for the towel rail in the living room area (we stayed in the Rosemary suite) so we turned it off after asking the staff about it. Stairs are quite steep and some are small, be careful on the way up & down!

Initially we were greeted outside of normal hours by Courtney, who welcomed us to the George and took time to show us around the facility and pass on a little of the history of the building. The whole layout is a little quirky, but all the more for it, which adds to the authentic feel of the place. Martin and Amber own the property and are exceptional hosts heading up a team of very friendly staff. Adam is the head chef and comes in for special mention, his food is excellent and wonderfully presented. Our room was lovely, bed extremely comfy and we had a separate and spacious sitting area with basic kitchen area. A great bonus. Overall, we stayed at the George for 5 nights and loved the whole experience and commend Martin and Amber for their part in creating a wonderful welcoming and memorable experience. Thank you.

What a lovely place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The people and the service are amazing, 10+ out of 10. Not only did they help get our luggage up the stairs, they found umbrellas for us to use on our outings and were there at every turn for anything we might need. The bar staff are super friendly and the cook was amazing. Breakfast is the best I've had, and there were several menu items to choose from. We stayed in the small apartment and really enjoyed having a separate area to watch TV and relax. All in all, we loved our stay here. We would like to return again some day and spend more time with these wonderful people. They truly are the best! ❤️

I would have given 5* all around, but the shower is tiny and my husband is not. The bathroom has been newly renovated, and there is so much space that it definitely warrants a larger shower. It should be mentioned that there are some really steep stairs. A few little extras in the kitchenette, like paper towels and a sponge, would have been nice.....I'm sure all I needed to do was ask. We actually tried to extend for another night, and although the room wasn't booked, for some reason they couldn't accommodate us. 😞

Lovely country village pub with rooms in a quiet road. Perfect for an overnight stop. We enjoyed it. Nice leather armchairs in the bar and great ambience. We enjoyed our dinner and also had a lovely brekkie.

Not really any complaints. The only small thing - they don't supply any non-dairy milk for tea/coffee at breakfast. Fortunately I messaged to ask Amber before arriving as I can't drink dairy, so brought an alternative with me. I was a bit surprised in this day and age, but it was only one night, so not a problem.

We loved the location of the property. The room was beautiful with everything we needed and spotlessly clean

We weren’t told that it was closed on a Sunday. We went out for a walk and everywhere was locked up when we got back. There was no warning of this on booking or arrival. All our dog food was locked in the kitchen so we had to go to the shop and buy more. We walked back to the pub for a drink after being by the river to find it closed. All this would have been fine if we had known

Lovely Room with a floor above with two comfortable settees and a table which we could use as a television room. The room also had a very handy kitchen area with a full sized fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times of day and the food was good. The parking was very useful and just a short walk from the centre. We will certainly use the George if possible if we make another trip.

I have recently had ankle surgery and found the stairs quite difficult as they are quite steep.

The George is a delightful 'country' pub in a quite neighbourhood of Bradford-on-Avon...central town easily walkable. The proprietor Martin was very hospitable and his staff were all extremely friendly/helpful/relaxed. Our room was called "Rosewood Suite" a 2nd floor room up somewhat tight stairs with ensuite bedroom at the front and a larger family room/kitchenette overlooking the pub garden and village. As loft rooms the ceiling slopes down around the rooms' perimeters...but the rooms are spacious and light enough and comfortably appointed with essential amenities; bed was comfy. Attic rooms can (by definition) become a bit stuffy in spring/summer....but small fans were supplied to keep the air circulating as needed. Our evening meal on the first night was EXCELLENT! (home made Beef Wellington - superb!). The pub/restaurant was delightfully busy with very pleasant atmosphere and clientele. The rear patio and garden seating were also very comfortable for a drink. We stayed for 3 nights and our morning breakfasts were always tasty and filling!

To be honest...there were no shortcomings of note. The rooms were nicely appointed and basic amenities were sufficient for a short stay. The building itself is old but it has considerable charm. Yes, the internal stairs are therefore also old/tight and the top floor ceilings have beams and some height restrictions and the floors are a bit creaky. But you roll with these features as expected in a vintage property.

Excellent location - easy to get into Bradford on Avon and good bus and train service to Bath. All the staff were super friendly, very helpful and efficient. We ate in 3 times and had lovely meals - breakfast was super - lovely fresh and good quality ingredients.

If I am being picky we are used to an extra large bed so did find a standard double small - but it was very comfortable and super pillows - which is always a great bonus.

I was so well looked after from the moment we walked through the door. Nothing was too much trouble. I had to work the in the morning so they brought a wonderful breakfast to me to the room. The room itself was lovely and well laid out. Very spacious with enough of everything you could need. Very clean and tidy.

The kitchen sash window could do with a little attention in terms of the finger hooks and keeping it open. It's a bit awkward and the window is quite heavy.

Bradford on Avon is a beautiful area and the George pub is great. Stayed in a great apartment at the pub which was very comfortable and extra heaters to keep you warm! Food was great and very reasonable. (the sweet potato gnocchi was excellent!) Staff (especially Mark the general manager and Jo and Finn the bar staff). The trip to Bath was a short walk into town and 12 mins on the train. Would definitely stay again.

Could have done with more lighting in the kitchenette area.
