Decor, it was a lovely looking place. Stone and beams, the hotel and the room had loads of character. Room was nice and warm with comfy bed and lovely bath and separate shower. Great showpiece headboard!

Nothing I didn't like. Dinner was a tad expensive but in keeping with the place I spose. Ideal for adults, not ideal for family with 2 young children although staff made us most welcome. TV was great with Freeview and all the apps if you have Amazon, netflix accounts etc. I just wanted to plug my laptop in to the HDMI port and although I succeeded it was very tight to plug into the wall mounted TV. Maybe a cable could be left already connected?

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, superior room was generous in size in a nicely converted outbuilding, all on a level apart from a few steps from the garden to the rooms, clean, nicely decorated, good hot water at all times, lovely bath and shower, warm room but with good windows and control over the heating, decent sized mugs on the tea tray, just the right amount of thought had gone into everything to make it an easy place to stop comfortably for the night (extra bin bags, shower gel warm towels, small sofa, space to put things, generous check in and check out times). The grounds are nice but not extensive. A modest and unpretentious place with history.

There was the rumble of a motor (motorbike, extractor fan?) that started about 7.30am for possibly an hour, I might not have heard it but I am sensitive! The sofa was a bit tired, but clean. The water from the cold tap was warm.

Friendly, professional, helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Kept my weird food stuffs in a fridge so didn't go off. I most often was served by duty managers David (who as well as serving, introduced and signed me in) and Susie (who helped inducting me into dietary provision); Charlotte my evening waitress and Linda for breakfast. Blessings to whomever set up in the gargantuan Bridal Suite (Room 17), I spread out enthusiastically and I've never slept as well in any bed not my own. Everything worked and was clean. (TV I don't know as didn't use.) Apologies to anyone I haven't mentioned, kudos to chef Xavier who I didn't meet but gleefully encountered his talents as much as possible!

I didn't have the wit to stay longer. My parents are interested in staying though!

Brilliant! The hotel feels like it was once a chic, luxury hotel but has since had to tighten the reigns, as many must in order to survive. However, in doing so, it is excellent value. The owners have been very clever in making economies while the staff are so lovely, it ends up being a super experience nonetheless. The rooms are extremely comfortable but with more economical additions on the tea tray, for example. One does not mind this since the room prices reflect it. Back to the staff: they deserve gold stars (ie, a pay rise!) for being so warm and helpful; in fact they are exceptional.

The photographs of the lobby with sofas don’t reflect the reality as the seating has been cut back. So if there are more people wanting drinks before dinner, or want to sit and work, there is insufficient space. This is a shame as it was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Still, I would certainly stay here again if needing to be in the area.

Loved the locations the grounds were kept to a really high standard and we loved our room

Our room was really warm and had no temperature controls, I understand the old buildings etc but fans or something could be provided in summer months, I also think my breakfast could’ve been better I ordered a sausage sandwich which A) took over 40 minutes to come and B) was served with plain white bread from a packet. I think they could really elevate it and give a really nice customer experience by using a more artisan bread or a good roll

Room was fantastic, large and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Dinner was excellent, the choice of food had a good range.

Unfortunately, the shower head continued to drip very loudly, tried everything to stop. Smoke alarm went off during the early hours of the morning- 04:00am with no communication, plus a green flashing light throughout the night. TV is at a distance so needing to turn up volume, very apprehensive to not have to loud disturbing others in the hotel rooms next door.

I think overrall the dinner and room rate was very good value for money. You are slightly restricted to certain menu items if you don't want to pay additional cost. Having said that the food was literally tremendous and most of what we had came from the 'residents menu'. It was so good that to be fair we wasted £10 upgrading to a cooked breakfast the following morning. It simply wasn't needed. I didn't realise a cooked breakfast would incur an additional cost but I guess if we had researched it more we would have seen that. The bedroom we had was really good and big enough for our small family.

It's possible to be underwhelmed with a room as we were on arrival. We enquired and the team kindly switched us to another room, which was one of the rooms used for the photo shoot. Room 22 is fantastic so the change really worked for us.

The food was cooked perfectly and the pudding was sensational. Even simple things, like an omelette was cooked to high standard and full of flavour.

The glacial covers piano music was alright for the first two hours but after that it was simply annoying. Staff told me they weren't allow to change it on instructions by the owner. If a customer ask for a simple thing like this, I would expect it to be change.

Loved the grounds and the welcome we recieved. They greeted us with a free drink each and suggested that we take a walk through the garden. The the food was incredible, the beautiful manor house was so cozy, and the en suite even had a clawfoot bathtub. Our stay was the highlight of our weekend in Bath.

It was quite a hot evening and we couldnt open the larger window which was bolted. It makes sense of course, but a fan in the room or some other solution would have been perfect.

Room very nice indeed, its an old farmhouse so expect wibbly wobbly floors, beams etc. I love the old charm. Dinner was fantastic, chef is very good. I had a belly pork with veggies which were perfect. I would love crackling but never mind. Young man on reception desk got his own charm, you get what you see. Again I love it. Can't comment on breakfast - we opt out .

Bit too much light on the courtyard at night but nothing major
