I've had sea view room before but not having one was actually better! Much quieter. The room was spacious, the bed comfy, the pillows soft and the shower strong. I was actually bowled over by the staff. The industry is currently in free fall and hospitality staff these days are untrained and often ill suited to the trade. Not so at the Grand. From the 'cheekie chappies' at the concierge desk to the waitresses in the restaurant, everyone I interacted with was fantastic. I pay compliments to the floor staff, the barmen, the porter, the reception team and the list goes on. Smiles everywhere and they all knew their 'stuff'..nothing was too much trouble and that makes for an amazing guest experience. I travel quite a bit and I rate this team 10 out of 10. Oh and the breakfasts were excellent too. These 'guys' (and that is an Americanism I can live without) pay attention to detail and are either naturals, well trained or love their work....or all three!

The Wifi was annoying. You need to sign in almost every time you leave your room. I can't blame the Grand for the mess Brighton is in! The town is constantly in grid-lock. More road closures and road works than you'd think possible. I'd recommend getting there by train but you'd only end up on a bus replacement service. Nonetheless some great restaurants, interesting shops (Bond Street especially) and plenty to do....ah yes, and the sea!

The staff are excellent especially the concierge they go above and beyond. The breakfast is excellent lots of choice, views over the beach from the balconies were second to none.

Shower curtains in the bathrooms are horrendous, the shower is so powerful it blows the curtain everywhere and you are having a constant fight to stop it sticking to you, gave up and had to bath instead. Recommend weights in the bottom of the curtains, or a curved rail or even replace with glass screens, you have these amazing baths and showers yet the curtain really let's it down. Some areas of corridors and in the bathrooms behind bathroom doors etc are starting to look tired and neglected, a touch of paint and maintenance wouldn't go a miss. These are very minor details in what was a perfect stay.

Bar area and history of building Bedrooms refurbished to a good standard.

Public spaces good. breakfast room, whilst revamped, sadly not refelective of price nor building history.:cnnference seating, with buffet breakfast only. Standard cooked breakfast and continental. Complained of plastic packaging in my breakfast and was told it was the peel of an onion. Hard to believe in avocado smash! Several drinks had also been added to our final bill that we had not ordered. The chits were not signed yet they were still added to the bill. Bed setee was knackered! My child slept with their feet higher than their head all night! Not really fit for purpose.despitw revamp. Double bed was great, no complaints if only two in the room.

You could not ask for anything more. The customer service was the best I have experienced, both in the UK and internationally. Hotel staff were attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived, up until the day we left. I made a significant error with my booking. This was handled exceptionally well by reception staff. The staff member was so calm, kind and handled what could have been the start of a nightmare, so effortlessly. All without making me feel stupid and an inconvenience. I was fortunate enough to interact with several members of staff during my stay and they all present as having a real sense of pride in what they do. This is very rare, and most definitely a USP they should be proud off. The room was a good size, with maid service provided daily. A special appreciation for the footmen also. Such an amazing stay.

Nothing. Above and beyond service. There is nothing I would change, except the lighting in the room.

The room was very comfortable and clean and was excellent value for money. The bar is lovely, very welcoming and relaxing although I did think that the drinks prices were on the steep side. The standout for me was the breakfast; this was exceptional. The choice and quality of products was an exceptionally high standard and I would say this is one of, if not, the best breakfast I have had at a hotel stay. Also food in general was very high quality, and the room service was excellent.

As mentioned previously, the drinks prices were on the steeper side. No other negatives to report.

We stayed for three nights and each morning breakfast was plentiful, relaxed and very enjoyable. Our room was on the side of the hotel but we were pleased to still have a pretty decent sea view, overlooking West Pier. I found the bed a little too hard but my wife slept well so always a personal thing to review. Our Superior King room was very comfortable, had two chair for reading / watching TV and it had tea and coffee making facility. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, the downstairs bar was brilliant and comfortable.

The bathroom was clean as expected, however the shower was in the bath which is a little old fashioned and did spray large amounts of water all over the bathroom floor even with the show curtain in the bath and the toilet didn't quite manage to fully flush and seems to want to almost fill the bowl, it wasn't a deal breaker and we did mention this at checkout BUT for a 4 star, well know hotel I think bathroom upgrades are needed.

Staff were excellent and fully attentive, Allowed a slightly earlier check in as the room was ready - this was really helpful as I was not returning to later that evening. Light and airy room, although quite small but it was a single and it did have a small double so for a solo traveller was perfect. Good shower over a bath and fridge in room. Breakfast was buffet style with a great selection

In some parts decor was a bit tyred, skirting board in bedroomchipped and flaking paint and carpet on communial hallways and stairs was worn

Excellent location - gorgeous view. When I had an issue with the room, it was sorted out very quickly by the staff at reception The breakfast was delicious, food was hot with lots of choice

I had booked a superior room with a sea view and a bath for my first anniversary What we got was a room modified for people with disabilities so rails round the toilet and a shower with a pull down seat that was dirty and rusty. The bathroom floor was also dirty and the bathroom door frame was falling apart ! Not a great start to an anniversary weekend. In fairness to the lovely receptionist, when I complained, she moved us very quickly to a clean room with a bath. It however had a sofa that was collapsing in the middle and a tiny wardrobe with very little hanging space. A lift was out of order so people were waiting ages for the only one available. The toilets in main reception were dated and not very clean.

We only occasionally use hotels so were delighted to find that the Grand turned out to be such a memorable experience. Particular commendation to all the Concierges who were so welcoming and helpful. They are the first experience of the Grand and they immediately make you feel that you are of importance to them. Car parking excellent and accessible, and excellent to have the EV charged up ! Breakfast in the conservatory excellent and breakfast staff wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. Lifts speedy and good but did use the stairs going down from room 614 for exercise sometimes. Apparently gratuities for the staff were taken out of our cost for the stay - is that correct?

Would have been nice fo have had a larger room .Continuous low grade hum at the back of the hotel during the night . No kippers at breakfast but otherwise excellent choices . Do you need to change the towels every day - ( we stayed two nights ) - thinking about global warming. Some hotels do say that if you do wish to have towels changed , place them in the bath or words to that effect.

Loved the grand, old-school ambience of the hotel. Wonderful hallway and stairwell, and even though our room was on the top floor, I couldn't resist taking the stairs each time (down was considerably easier than up!). The hotel was busy so the bar had a great atmosphere in the evening. My whisky sour was great. I recommend the English Tea, but you only need order one set tea menu for 2 people, otherwise you'll be taking a lot away in boxes!

Our room looked out towards the large Hilton hotel, whose enormous bank of air conditioning fans could be clearly heard in the room with the windows closed.
