Located in a quiet area, clean, reasonable size room, staff was very polite and friendly, we enjoyed the garden. It was a pleasant experience.

On 2 evenings (wed and fri) the music was very loud until late in the night and I could hear guests shutting doors as they were frustrated with the loud music. The bed was a bit small, it was a 4ft (small double), is not really close to the beach or town centre, is a 30 min walk to town centre, but there is a bus stop in front of the pub if needed. We choose to walk tough. What can you do?

Booked for an overnight stay to attend a concert at Dreamland. Nice, large room with very comfortable bed and large bathroom with bath and shower. Host very friendly and helpful. Easy access to rooms at side of pub and box at door for self checkout. Good location, a 20 minute walk to town centre, away from the hustle and bustle later on at night Exceptional value for money Would definitely recommend

Nothing to dislike

The location was fantastic for us, far enough from Margate that it wasn’t rammo but close enough to walk and enjoy the waterfront on the way. The room was cosy, excellent water pressure. Staff very friendly and able to recommend different places to us. We came for my partner’s birthday, and we loved it so much we’ll be back for mine!-

Not being able to eat in the rooms can make your stay a bit expensive as you have to eat out so it would be good to factor this in as we weren’t aware of this prior to booking.

Very close to Westbrook beach which is what we wanted, free parking, really delicious pub food especially the Thai food - superb! Friendly helpful staff, clean and tidy room, spacious, comfy beds, clean bathroom and powerful shower, perfect temperature, thank you!

It is on a fairly busy road so expect some road noise, also heard the pub patrons but that’s also to be expected. Once I put my earplugs in I couldn’t hear a thing and it was quiet enough that it didn’t bother the kids at all. Could do with updating kids play area although they enjoyed it!

The property is old and needs a make over to some degree, and the owner has plans to d that. He is a friendly owner, communicates well, is humorous, friendly in a very professional manner, and went out of his way to provide information and local sights.

pretty outdated decor(pink) and carpet was a bit manky(sorry)could've done with a clean,no facilities for breakfast but guess that's because it was a pub,didnt expect a lot so i cant say i was dissapointed

The room was quite dated, but like i said before i would come back again and this did not make a difference to my stay just cosmetics....however the bathroom looked like it had been updated, loved the flooring, it sparkled x

Great place to stay. Only a 10 minute walk into town although there is a bus stop outside the pub. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. It's a cheap place to stay. My room was spotless and had everything i needed. Top notch

Michelle and Dave couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Having recently taken over The Hussar Inn they are working really hard to make it the best it can be and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there; we were made to feel like family! It's really clean and comfortable. The food served at lunch and in the evening is excellent, we cancelled a restaurant booking to have the Thai curry again! Great place. If I stay in Margate again, I'll be staying there. Big enclosed garden too. Dog friendly in the pub, but they aren't allowed in the hotel rooms.

So the decor isn't the best, it does need updating, but they're working on it! Breakfast wasn't as good as the other meals. Not a central Margate location, but approx 15-20 min walk to town.

The staff were lovely, it was very clean and comfy.

Our only problem was not having a mini fridge to keep drinks and fresh milk cold, we don't like UHT milk so we ended up buying hot drinks from the local wild bean cafe.
