The hotel was a lovely place to stay, with staff that were always welcoming & courteous. Although we were eating out through most of our stay (because we were exploring Burnley & the surrounding areas), we really enjoyed the breakfasts - especially the sausages. The rooms we stayed in were clean & comfortable.

The only issue we had was the water pressure & temperature of the taps & shower. The shower wouldn’t maintain it’s temperature, & it seemed to get really hot or really cold (not ideal, especially for a 5 year old child that doesn’t like having baths). The water from the hot tap got hot very quickly, the water pressure was intermittent & the pipes were rattling - perhaps replacing the current taps with mixer taps will make it safer for guests.

The Hotel is really beautiful and set in lovely gardens. The room was spacious and clean. The décor of the room was very impressive and the bed was probably one of the comfiest I have slept on. Breakfast the next day was delicious and plentiful. Parking available outside the Hotel.

Nothing needed changing. The Hotel keep in touch with you, read the emails as they contain important information. I failed to notice there was a wedding on and the Hotel had offered to move me to a quieter part of the building but of course I didn't read that so my fault.

We loved the quirkiness and decor. It is really beautiful Our bedroom was like a suite although we only booked a standard double it was very luxurious and very large! I never sleep in hotel rooms and despite the extremely warm weather I had a great night's sleep! Very comfortable. The staff at the hotel are all so friendly and accommodating. We stayed for dinner and the food was lovely but perhaps slightly overpriced. Breakfast service was amazing. All in all a really great stay.

Coffee in bedroom is a standard brand I hate! Would be nice to upgrade to the next level to match the standard of the room. Couldn't find a hairdryer and as no.phone couldn't be bothered to walk all the way down to reception to ask! Breakfast- quality of ingredients was not what I would have expected in the full English. The sausage seemed cheap and only one. Would like two! It was still OK though I'm picking now!

This was literally a last minute booking and was about four miles from my work visit. The hotel is a former mill owners house and has many of the original features giving it a boutique feel. The staff were friendly and efficient and the room I had was spacious and well appointed with hospitality tray and toiletries in bathroom. like all older places the it needs some TLC in places but not enough to spoil your experience. The dining room was lovely the meals well cooked and made fresh do a short wait is required the breakfast was as also excellent There is plenty of onsite parking

It doesn't have the best of views i was overlooking the bins but that was not the focus of my stay I loved the place and would recommend to anyone in the area.

We stayed 2 nights in order to attend a family wedding near Burnley. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. The room was number 19 on the ground floor. It was spacious, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We had a bath/shower which was lovely and clean as was the rest of the room. We dined in the restaurant on Friday night and I have no hesitation in saying it was the nicest meal I have ever had in a restaurant. The breakfast was superb, all cooked to order. I would highly recommend this hotel and if I ever have the need to stay in the Burnley area again I will no further than this hotel.

I have nothing negative to say. A fantastic experience. Highly recommended

Very interesting property w generously proportioned rooms giving a characterful ambiance. Bedroom was comfortable w good mattress. Reasonable variety of choices for breakfast and staff were friendly and accommodating

Breakfast could be served a bit later in the mornings until 10 a.m for example to allow a more relaxing start to the day. Location is up a v steep hill for those not coming by car Bedroom only had blinds and no curtains so let light in and windows were painted shut thus relying on fan to manage airflow Decor was a bit dated and too many unnecessary ornaments in the room and surrounding spaces

Very nice and good value. Staff very friendly and breakfast was superb

My room was above the kitchens and the noise began about 6am from staff working. Bit annoying.

Excellent Breakfast. Comfy beds, bath and shower good. Reception staff excellent. Late night bar very relaxed and reasonable value. Overall superb a nice old Hotel with loads of charm.

It was busy (due to the Football) so we had an attic room, which had the heating turned full on so was very hot when we arrived at 4:30pm. Two skylight windows weren't easy to open, and the radiators quite difficult to switch off. We managed, but it took about 40 minutes before the room reached a comfortable heat. As an attic room I guess it can get quite cold, and it was very cold outside so I understand why the heating was on before we arrived. Minor issue though, and overall the stay was excellent and met our expectations of a nice old Hotel.

I stay here every few months when in Burnley. Such good value yet a lovely characterful place to stay. The food is really good standard. A friendly cosy place for the solo female traveller to stay.

Stunning setting. Really well kept for an old building, From the minute I was greeted at the reception, all the staff were friendly and helpful. I was in room 15 and it was perfect. Extremely comfy bed, the pillows were one soft one firm which again is good management . Well designed room for maximum space.

Evening meal. It's really late to book food 6:30pm is the earliest. The food itself was perfectly cooked, really delicious. But extremely small portions and pretty expensive The steak was truly amazing, but 10 chips & 1 mushroom. Isn't worth £22. I'm sure there are better valued locally.
