The hotel was situated in beautiful grounds that were extremely well kept,we had a nice view from our window, The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was really good, breakfast had everything you could want, and again very helpful staff. The check out time is really good at 11am. The bedrooms were spacious and nicely decorated and equipped.

Check in says 2pm, we arrived at 3.15pm and our room still wasnt ready for us, we were asked to come back, not a major problem for us as we visited the bar! But could be a problem if we had gone for a special occasion! Maybe need to alter check in to a later time and ask guest to pay if they want an early check in. The bed was a little uncomfortable but was ok for one nights stay, and the pillows were a little flat.

The staff were excellent, evening meals and breakfast really good. The girls on Reception and bar staff are very friendly and helpful .Our stay has led to our son having his wedding with you next year. As they ate in the restaurant with us, and were suitably impressed with the lovely Receptionist that let them view the wedding venue rooms.

The rooms a little tired looking, but the major problem was the shower (that worked well I may add) was very awkward for my husband to get in and out of.As it is positioned over the bath.It is very slippy in a bath whilst showering .So at least provide a none slip mat.To prevent any accidents.

The hotel was beautiful on the outside, set in some picturesque grounds. The hotel is clean, well set out and modern with comfortable beds and great amenities. The staff are all very pleasant, especially the night manager Ste! We travelled down from Edinburgh for Parklife and didn’t arrive until around 11.30pm and Ste greeted us at the reception and welcomed us, asking us about our drive and what we were in Manchester for. Ste gave us all the information we needed and reassured us he would be there each night if we needed anything. We didn’t bother taking the key card out with us to Parklife either night as we thought we may lose it but Ste greeted us at reception both nights and provided us with a new keycard and a bottle of water. Could not thank him enough for how welcome and looked after her made us feel. We will be back next year and he is the main reason for this!

The only drawback we had was the room was very hot and stuffy and of course the window had to have a safety latch so didn’t open wide enough to let much air in and as we are in the UK, there obviously wasn’t air con. Maybe bring a portable fan if you plan to stay when it’s hot outside.

The Garden Room was nicely located away from the main function room.It was nice to have the patio doors onto the garden. However the knob that activated the shower head (secured in the wall and not handheld or removable) was extremely stiff and difficult to turn with you only being able to do this stood in the bath. You either got drowned with freezing cold water OR when knob was able to be moved with both hands risked being scalded!! Not a good H&S situation. The bathroom would really benefit from a walk in shower with and overhead showerhead and a detachable handheld shower especially for any guest who have/had mobility issues. Our evening meal on arrival was lovely as was the breakfast with lots of choice and staff willing to get anything you might want i.e. scrambled egg/poached egg (not on the buffet).

See note above about the over the bath shower - showerhead stuck in wall and difficulty turning shower on and adjusting the setting.

The location was beautiful. The pond area with the trees was stunning and the Canadian geese with their babies was an added bonus. It was lovely and quiet. The ladies on reception were lovely and so helpful. The room was perfect. We came to see Pink in Bolton and didn't get back until 2am, as soon as I got into bed I knew I was going to have a good night's sleep and I really did. This was a huge relief as I don't normally sleep very well in hotel rooms I didn't want to get up I was so comfortable.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. I just wish we could have spent more time at the hotel, had another night's stay and tried the breakfast in the morning.

Angela was there on our arrival and we were attending the Arctic monkeys gig. I was there with my daughter and she gave us clear guidance on how to make our way there which put Mya's mind at ease, and mine. She was there in the morning too and after a hectic night with trams cancelled she was a breath of fresh air and again made my daughter and I feel like nothing was a problem. The breakfast staff were amazing and the food was too. We used the spa/pool and again staff and facilities were nothing short of perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we left feeling like we had been away for a week. I would and have recommended this venue to family and friends. The property grounds were gorgeous just as the photos. I would like Angela to be acknowledged in some form from management as she was incredibly friendly and professional and quite frankly one of the best people I have had the pleasure of meeting and I travel alot. Thank you Angela and the team who maintain the standards of the hotel and it's grounds 🙏

Absolutely nothing.

A ground floor allocated, which was excellent as my partner had walking issues. Breakfast was a standard buffet but with all the breakfast items available. Would have liked the eggs warmer, but since we ate after 07:30, understandable. Only had one evening meal and by choice very basic and enjoyable. Staff very pleasant in all areas of the hotel, especially housekeeping and reception.

This was a second stay at the hotel. The decor had been updated (was in the progress of this on first visit). No issues to speak of.

Loved being able to use the pool, really relaxing and clean. The breakfast choice was excellent. Plenty of space in the bedroom for 2 people and a dog. Good to have some grounds to walk the dog before bed. Staff really friendly and helpful.

It would be great if there was some where to charge electric cars. The description led me to expect more extensive grounds. Also felt pressured into making a snap decision about breakfast as soon as we'd arrived, it would have been better if we could have seen what was on offer first.

Beautiful setting - love the pond and the gardens. The rooms have lovely decor and were very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We spent a wonderful few hours in the pool and sauna (The Stables) and then made our way to the restaurant and bar. The food was good and we weren’t left waiting for too long for our meal. The bar area is a nice place to relax and wind down.

The carpets in the hallways looked a little worn, on the steps. We couldn’t control the radiator temp. So the room was a little cold when we arrived and then too hot during the night, which disturbed our sleep (had to open the window around 2am). The short walk to The Stables (pool & sauna) is okay during the day but not very well lit at night - would benefit from more outdoor lighting. Breakfast is served way too early (6-9am) at least for me. We stayed for Valentines and we’re a bit disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t decorated in keeping’s with the day.

Staff were happy and friendly. Bed was very comfortable.

First morning breakfast was chaotic. Hotel was very busy and we couldn't get a table in the dining room. We waited ages for a table and had set ourselves up on the bar area with 2 stools. No bacon was available for nearly 20 minutes. 2nd morning was fine. We also had a barking dog in the room next to us. It was pretty annoying and not something that we have experienced before. Prices have shot up probably not helped by the energy crisis. Although I noticed that a lot of bulbs are still halogen and there is very little double glazing. So their costs must be high.
