We were attending a family birthday celebration in the pub restaurant so decided to stay at the same location. The room was well appointed and extremely clean. Plenty of parking in the car park. When we arrived pub was very busy and we did confirm on booking that assistance to the room was not required so could book in earlier than advertised. Continental breakfast included in room price, this included fruits, cereals, pastries, toast and conserves but at weekends can upgrade to a cooked breakfast for an additional charge. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food and service were excellent.
The heating in the room could have been put on to ensure the room was warm for arrival. Took a while for the heater to take off the chill in the room complimentary coffee, tea water and biscuits should match number of occupants not one of each. This is not a critique but a tip to future guests that a hairdryer is not provided so you may wish to pack one for your stay, together with your other toiletries. Breakfast is served at one time only and at 9am on a weekend away was a little early than we would have liked on a Sunday morning.

We have stopped at the Old Red Lion before and so knew what to expect. The pub is in a lovely rural location and near to an event we attend once a month during the summer months. The food is good and we enjoy the continental breakfast which is included in the room rate. A cooked breakfast is available at an additional cost for those who prefer that choice. We have had a mix of rooms, some are more up to date than others. If you are looking for luxury and a better equipped bathroom then request or book the annex which overlooks the playing fields. These are newly refurbished and offer more privacy. Some rooms, we had room 1, overlook the outside dining area and we felt the need to keep our curtains closed despite it being a lovely evening. The room still had everything you could need however and was nice. Good selection of beers, gins and wines in the bar too.
If staying in the rooms which overlook the outside dining area then net curtains would have been an advantage as we were getting ready to go out but had to have our curtains closed for privacy.

Our room was lovely and exceeded our expectations. It had been recently decorated and the quality of the room was high spec with beautiful furnishings. The bed was comfy and we liked the view across the field from our room. We have drunk in the Old Red Lion before and eaten there and always enjoyed our visit. This was the first over night stay and we were not disappointed. We had been out to an event locally and returned to the pub about 21.30 and enjoyed drinks in the bar. Staff were friendly and the bar had a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was continental and was included in the room rate and there was a nice choice of fruit and pastries etc as well as toast and cereal. There was an option for a cooked breakfast for those who wanted it at an additional cost too.
Would have liked breakfast a bit earlier than 09.00am on Saturday morning as I was going to work however, this was no doubt advertised, I should have checked.

Nice hotel/pub/restaurant. Rooms are located separately from pub. Our room was more than spacious enough, too bad there were no table and chairs to enjoy the (continental) breakfast. Breakfast can only be enjoyed in the restaurant at the weekend. The meals in the restaurant are highly recommended. (not possible on Sunday evening). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel/pub/restaurant is definitely recommended.
Lack of table and chairs in the room, minimal lighting in the room.

The staff were amazing and accommodated our request to move rooms. The food was 10/10 and the continental breakfast is no longer bought to your room, but served in the restaurant which is nicer. Our first room was a bit dated so we requested a move and the staff were excellent and moved us straight away.
Our first room wasn’t as nice as our friends room, but we moved rooms with no bother - the staff were excellent.

The location was perfect on the edge of the village with lovely views. The breakfast was just right, lovely pastries and cured meat selection and a big pot of tea. We had a main course in the bar in the evening, the food was superb! Very friendly staff.
The tap on the basin was loose and the shower head pipe has a small split in it. The shower head could have done with descaling.

Excellent staff and service all round. Fabulous food and nothing was too much trouble with any of the staff. We will be returning in the not to distant future.
We were in a ground floor room where other quests walked past close by and net curtains would be good and therefore still plenty of light but more privacy

The bed was really comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities included biscuits! Everything was clean and above all it was very quiet overnight. My husband's first choice when working away now and I joined him this week. Excellent food in the pub so no need to look any further afield.
Nothing, it was all good.
