The Staff, especially James, were excellent as Showing us our room / Front of House / Taking Orders, he was all over the place. Food for Dinner and Freshly Cooked Breakfast (Included) no complaints. Very quiet, might be time of year though looks like in the summer it will have a lot of Guests outdoor in the Garden. Great standard of Decoration. Perfect for visiting Duxford Museum
The tiniest TV I have ever seen, Wouldn't hurt to update them. No Slip Mat for the bath, although heating was on until late at night, a warmer duvet would have have been nice. Indoor bar is quite small and noisy, no doubt beer garden is perfect in the summer.

The cottages are really nice - inside and out. Good to those who came for a conference held in Hinxton conference center. You can go to the conference center just in 5 minutes through the gate. Need to press the button and explain to the security where you are going. The hotel is the only place nearby which serves food, especially in the evenings. Fish and chips was delicious. Breakfast was very nice too.
For people who are not fans of bars and alcohol in general, might not be good. But can enjoy your food outside if the weather is nice. Slippery bathroom (the tub). The rooms are not that spacious, at least mine wasn't.

The staff was one of the kindest I've ever met. I am a wheelchair user and I requested specific details regarding space, toilet, and bathroom accessibility, and everything was clearly described and available as soon as I got there. The staff also helped me to store one equipment that I had to rent for my needs. There is a ramp at the back door of the restaurant, and I could access all facilities. Besides that, the hotel was really cozy, clean, and silent. Just a few minutes' walk away, you have access to the Wellcome Genome Campus. The breakfast is amazing! It's really worth tasting the Royal one, with spinach, eggs, and smoked salmon. Dinner is also good!
The location is quite far from Cambridge - it's a 25-minute drive by car/taxi.

Rooms were spacious and bathroom was great. Amenities were kept topped up. Breakfast was decent and the general pub menu was good. The stand out for me was the pie of the day, I only ordered on my last evening but would’ve had one everyday if I’d ordered sooner. The venue and grounds are pretty and well maintained.
Smashed my skull on the low door into the pub but that’s more a fault of mine for not sucking to a doorway that’s a few hundred years old.

Quick check in and shown to our rooms by very helpful member of staff. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable with plenty of storage space. Enjoyed quiet drink in the bar in the evening. Service at breakfast was excellent as was the food. The young lady who looked after our party of four could not have been more helpful, so many thanks. Food was well presented and tasted very good. Overall an excellent visit so many thanks to the staff for looking after us so well.
Nothing comes to mind.

Historic building in glorious setting. The main building and the outbuildings used for guest accommodation had been sensitively extended and updated. The en-suite bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were polite, efficient and hard working. The food was excellent and there were plenty of tables and seating inside and in the garden.
Some minor maintenance was required in our bedroom in that the electric razor point did not appear to work and the plug in the bath was difficult to open to drain the bath.

Service was great. Food was super in the evening. Service little slow if the restaurant is busy. Nice range of cask ales. Tom in the annex at the back ate great.
Breakfast, mushrooms dry and overcooked, as was the sausage. Poached egg over done. Blinds on the windows have a gap at the bottom of an inch or so, letting in light. Wall of the rooms are thin you can hear other guests.

Food and location were excellent. Meals were small but still very good. Staff were very attentive and friendly but not over intrusive.
The only problem was the way the bills were sorted. We asked that everything we ordered be shared 50/50 between the two rooms but then way they were sorted were so complicated it took us quite a while to work out how much each couple owed. System needs a radical change and a much easier way of doing it.

Quality of the food, both dinner and breakfast, was excellent. It is a lovely pub.
Both for dinner and breakfast we were not acknowledged upon arrival at all. Drinks came after our starter, get the drinks in straightaway!! Also for breakfast we sat for ages and the tea arrived with the cooked breakfast. Small things that make quite a difference. It wasn’t busy at all.

This Red Lion is located in a typically small English town setting that lets you fully relax from whatever day you've had. Plenty of free parking, very quiet rooms, and a lovely garden setting made this an excellent choice for visiting the nearby Duxford aerodrome and Imperial War Air Museum. The included breakfast has several good selections with individual French-press coffee and fresh juice. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, even during what was a very full house for dinner for one of our evenings. The room was on par with premium hotels, but with added touches of dimming lights in the bathroom and room, as well as windows and a skylight that open to provide fresh air and let in the wonderful sounds of the birds each morning.
The only thing I would suggest would be some strategically placed clothes hooks next to the door (for jackets) and hooks in the bathroom (for hand towels).
