The location close to the station and within walking distance of the city centre is great. The neighbourhood is very nice, with several supermarkets close by and a cozy pub down the block. We shared a room with four people, which was fine for sleeping there. There is a nice shared kitchen and sitting area.

Our room was not spacious at all: the beds took 85% of the space, and moving around with four people was like playing Tetris. We all knew each other so that was no problem, but I can imagine it’s not if you are sharing the room with strangers. The beds also do not have curtains, and for the lockers you need to bring your own lock.

My daughter and I stayed in Cambridge YHA a few times, the price was very good when I first time or second time booked it, it became higher and higher later. Generally the staff were friendly and helpful, we really appreciated their service, but the manager was a different story. Generally, YHA in Cambridge was a good place to stay in good location with all necessary facilities including kitchen, washing machine and dryer. The luggage can be stored easily internally or externally. The guests there were generally friendly. YHA in Cambridge has its unique atmosphere in a good way which was different from other accommodations, it had lovely sitting areas, full breakfast was value for money.

The manager was rude at least in two occasions, two staff were very rude for once booking, other staff were all good and friendly. The price became higher and higher for each booking. Had to flush twice poo continually from unknown guests left in the public toilet, disgusting and unbelievable. Individual guest might not clean the bathroom after use. The Twin Room could be very small if wanted two luggage inside the room. The luggage Room for all guests' luggage can be accessed by any guest who had a key. The kitchen could be crowded during dinner time.

Despite 3. Bunk beds and a possible 6 occupants the room was adequately spacious with good storage space. There were 4 of us in the room in daytime temps of 30 deg. And although hot and uncomfortable there was ventilation via window opening - enough not to suffer. Although the room was deemed ‘quiet’ (end of a busy corridor) the through floor noise from room(s) above was troublesome - many creaking, rumblings and banging. I got accustomed to it.

Noise, to some degree. Possibly related to construction of the building, the pull-out locker system or what - it existed. And was troublesome. thankfully I was very tired, exhausted even, and once asleep I stayed asleep.

It was fine, 24 hour check-in went smoothly. There was a proper kitchen with two three of most things like kettle, fridge, sink etc. so you're not queuing. Bed was comfy. Fairly nice sofa area by the reception. It's not really a living room, but you could certainly chill there and do your work, hang out and chat, etc.. I get the impression the place is set up for people studying or visiting the uni, that need to deal with their life and not waste time on things like noise at night or queuing in the morning.

Three of everything maybe isn't enough when it comes to showers starting the day at the same time. I didn't have to queue but the guy after me did. No drinking your own alcohol - I imagine that's a plus if you're there to study, however. They do have a bar, though. I was in a room full of people whose feet stank! 😂 Don't know if I was unlucky or if it was because the room was warm and not well venitlated.

Very clean, warm, safe, spacious, individual shower rooms, great cafeteria with good, reasonably priced food throughout the day, guest kitchen, near centre of city and station, reasonable sized bedrooms. All feels very professionally run.

Everything about the property was great. Some of the guests seemed unfamiliar with basic manners staying in a hostel, e.g. leaving clothes, shoes and bags on floor so other guests fell over them as room was completely dark at night, talking loudly to self for a long period of time about some very disturbing subjects in the middle of the night, not opening windows at all so room was stiflingly hot and very smelly at night!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was incredibly convenient, a 5-minute walk from the train station and bike parking. Rooms, beds, and toilets were clean, and the hostel was overall fairly quiet.

Perhaps it's standard practice, but I would appreciate having a towel without having to pay extra--I understand it costs money to wash these, but plenty of people may not use them. Also, the mattresses were made from a very squeaky material, so turning in bed during the night was loud.

The room was clean, and in my case, basically empty. It was just me and another girl, which helped me a lot to relax. The location was pretty good because on the main street I could find a lot of restaurants with different types of food.

The only downside for me (which was not a problem, to be honest) was the size of the bathroom for us to shower. It would be great if the property could have something in the shower to place shampoo and soap, for instance.

The location. The day when I left not until I arrived the station, I did not know that I forgot to take my mobile phone with me. So I need to pull my luggage back to the YHA to get phone and came back to the station. I am very glad the location is very close to the station.

I asked for a lower bed and close to toilet, because I am old person. But this request was neglected. This is very dangerous for an old person at night to go to toilet. But my this request almost neglected not by this YHA but also by most of YHA I booked in this trip. Perhaps most of YHA are too used to have young people staying at their YHA. (Here I use plural, for I may forget which one have given me lower bed (the last one at Bath, after I complaint to the “top manager”?)

Great location for exploring and an early trip to the train station in the morning. The receptionists were so friendly and helpful. There was plenty of space to relax in the evening and also cook! Plenty of bathrooms and close to the room as well. Perfect for what I needed.

It is quite a walk to the centre of town so just know that if you are only looking to explore the centre. But perfect if you need to leave early from the station.

I left my electronic toothbrush in the room charging and after two days I called reception, they gave me instructions on how to order royal mail online and book collection. The staff have been very helpful and patient in getting my lost item back when living at the hostel. It also has good and spacious communal area and nice kitchen where you can cook. You can eat there if you don’t want to cook as they are also registered bar and restaurant which is convenient. YHA is recommended place to stay if you are in Cambridge.
