We spent the day at Painshill Park and booked the Bridge hotel as we didn't want a long drive in the evening. The room was wonderful and it had everything we could need. It's newly refurbished and there's a lot of attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable, AC regulated temperature of the room, and the room was exceptionally clean. I can't fault it. The tub is the feature of the room and it was a treat to soak in. The water pressure for the bathtub (and in the actual shower) was strong and filled up quickly, and all the soaps and creams provided smelled incredible. The TV is not a smart TV and connected to a sky box, so if you're planning on using Netflix or a streaming site then it's best to bring an iPad. The view from the room overlooked the river where boats passed by. It was ideal for a romantic spontaneous weekend get away. The smaller touches like providing heated eye masks, and oat milk sachets for our tea and coffee made our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. There was also a usable vinyl record player! The lady we met at check out was really lovely, it's just unfortunate no one else was...

As much as we loved the room, we did not love the service. Unfortunately that was the only let down. The bar staff are also responsible for the check in desk, and when I finally managed to get someone's attention, he treated us like an inconvenience. He gave one word answers, stared at us, or just shook his head at any questions. It put a damper on things at the start. Later on, when we came down to the restaurant for dinner and the same staff member treated us like an inconvenience, and later tried overcharging us with things we didn't order (they did rectify this, but had we not noticed we would have paid an additional £25 on our bill). Customer service is a fixable issue, so overall I would still recommend the hotel. Hopefully the owners or management provide more training to staff.

It was a nice, quirky stay. Very well presented and the rooms were cosy.

Upon arrival staff were quite cold and unwelcoming. There was a current visitor enquiring about something, stood before us, he was being dealt with by a member of the reception team. There were two other team members stood behind the counter who did not acknowledge us, smile or support with our check in. We asked if this was the right place for checking in and were faced with “there is somebody in-front of you so you’ll have to wait”. We knew someone was stood in front of us, we didn’t appreciate the passive aggressive response. These two members were clicking through the computer, one on his phone. Just not the service I would expect after a 5hour car journey to then be stood waiting 15 minutes to check in. All other staff were pleasant.

Easy parking. Good location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice room. Spacious. Small desk so could do some work. Plenty of sockets including for USB charging. Good shower. Air conditioning. Free coffee. Good size safe. Additional food and drink in the bedroom (cost extra). Ordering food from the bar was easy and they were very flexible, which was appreciated. Weather was warm and dry so we could sit outside to eat. Small floor-level light in the bathroom actuated by movement - useful if needed to make a nocturnal visit to the bathroom.

One aspect of the breakfast. Whilst there was a good choice of cooked meals and some pastries, there was minimal choice if you prefer cereal. The only thing was granola which tends to be higher in sugar. Small choice of yoghurts. No bran, wheat, prunes, fruit (other than apples & oranges), seeds, etc. That may all be fine for most people but the question asked is what we didn’t like, and that was it. Two other niggles. Would have been helpful to have a light over the bathroom mirror (easier shaving) and a hook or similar to hang wet towels (the towel rail was too compact to spread out wet towels). But these were small things.

Absolutely loved the property once getting inside. The decor and general atmosphere was of such high quality. We felt welcomed and at ease, rooms were really comfortable and had all the little things we would love such as espresso maker, oat milk sachets and comfort. We arrived at 4am after a late tunnel crossing from France and the team looked after us every step of the way, extended our check out free of charge and met us outside to welcome us in dispite the time. enjoyed a brunch the following day with exceptional service. Have no reason to stay again as we live very far away but if I am ever in the area I will choose to stay here without a doubt! Loved it

Outside on the approach the building and car parked didn’t look as nice or high end as it actually is. Signage and the outside could be improved with outdoor seating, planters and possibly a building render in a more premium finish. However inside was fantastic!

The place was lovely with a great atmosphere, and the room was very clean and cosy. The food was great and the dinner service was fast and very friendly.

During check-in and check-out times staff were limited and we had to wait for there to be anyone on reception. During our check-out, no one turned up at reception so we had to leave our card on the front desk and let a member of the bar staff know. We also weren't made aware that in order to leave the car park you needed a token to open the gate. So upon leaving I had to go back inside and ask a member of the bar staff for one. The process was very easy, but there should be more signage, perhaps in the car park or at reception (check-in/check-out), so that guests are made aware before trying to leave.

The room was a lovely size and very clean. I loved the shower and that there was the little niknaks for washing. Check in was simple as completed form before arrival so just had to add my car reg and signature, receptionist was friendly. Arrived just in time for food and although the fries came out cold they very quickly swapped those out with no complaints. Beautiful location by the river with plenty of outdoor seating which is also kept very clean and tidy

Could have done with the room already set for cooling down as was hit by a furnace of 26.5 degrees when I opened the room door so had to very quickly open window for air and work out the controls for the system. Was only fault really.

Brilliant location on the Thames, room was good and comfy. Fully equipped including iron and ironing board. Bed was comfortable. Lift was dated and creaky but a bonus for ancient knees. Bathroom had a rainfall shower and towels were large. Plenty of toiletries, but no shower cap. I used the plastic bag from the bathroom bin!

Food was expensive and not a great vegetarian choice. Breakfast was not included and cost an extra £30 for a couple. The tables on the very extensive balcony could have been wiped more often, cigarette ash is not pleasant

Excellent rooms, very clean, very spacious. Handy parking and very friendly hotel staff. The location was handy for where we were headed. I can't fault the rooms one bit. I don't know what the prices are like in the area but I found it to be excellent value for money!

We asked to move room as originally we were on the ground floor and the glass had a film over it. I understand why it did, I just felt like the room didn't have a window. I asked if it would be possible to move to a room without the film and the lady on the desk happily moved us. I didn't get her name but she was excellent. We never got our teas or coffees replenished on our second day, we asked for some extras and the man said he would bring some up. However, he was very busy so by the time he got to our room we were asleep, so not his fault at all. We didn't have a tv remote for our room, and the sky didn't work, this didn't bother us as we had our laptops, although I suspect for some other guests it might be bothersome.

The cleanliness, the decor was to a high standard, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. The oat milk sachet was a considerate touch.

The room was lovely however you could hear each time any of the rooms were entered as the doors are heavy and bang. Breakfast was OK, I chose the veggie full Engiglish, I asked for poached eggs and specifically asked for them not to be snotty but unfortunately they were practically raw. The veggie sausage was not great either, would have preferred a soy protien or other meat alternative rather than one made from vegetables.

The welcoming chap on reception made me feel welcome on arrival (female business traveller).

Couple of things to feedback on during my stay: When I went down for dinner the female behind the bar struggled with the English language. I ordered 1 drink - another arrived which wasn’t what o ordered. I then proceeded to order a main course only from the menu (fishcakes) to be told by the same individual there was none left at such an early hour of the evening - when a young chap stepped in and confirmed it was available. It was awfully confusing when placing a simple drinks and food order as a single female travelling alone at 6.45pm When checking out on my departure I opened the curtains to open my window to find a latex glove on the floor behind the closed curtain which was a little unpleasant at 6.30am.
