I really like the old yet modern feel to the place. The twin was nicely situated with the beds at a diagonal with plenty of space between to be able to have our stuff and get changed without disturbing each other. The food was really tasty with good portion sizes and a great selection of drinks. We could easily get into the Peaks without having to pay the tourist price for staying in the Peaks.
Unfortunately the toilet kept making a noise through the night as if the pump kept coming on to bring the water back up for the cog so that was a bit annoying and the car park is right on the bend and a very sharp turning and not very big, only holding about 10 cars, however there isn't much they can do about either. I was able to park opposite on the hill down to the cross roads where the pub sits.

Old Poets Corner is a traditional pub at the edge of a handsome traditional village, and has a good range of local beer on tap. The staff are helpful and approachable. It's clearly popular with the locals, always a good sign. The bed was superb, the bedroom and pub interior somewhat lived-in though not unpleasantly so. Despite arriving after the kitchen had closed, the very obliging chef took pity on us and cooked up a very acceptable meal.
It was not clear from the booking details that the kitchen closes at 6pm on Sundays. Very limited range of non-alcoholic drinks in the bar. There was an issue with noisy equipment under our bedroom, which the landlord resolved.

We loved the history of the place, beautiful surrounds, church bells singing in the background on a Sunday morning. Really nice little village. Staff were great. We are Australian and it was hard to understand us and vice versa which was quite funny. We stayed for one night which was a Saturday night, oops!. I really wanted a good night's sleep and didn't realise there was a band going to play until 11pm. We finally got to sleep and it was fine after that. I would recommend a stay for older people on a week night.

The staff were friendly. The hotel room was nice and comfortable with the added bonus of bottles of water. There was even a couple of bottles of their famous ale to try.
The dinner I felt was average. The chips were overcooked. There was a strange smell in the bathroom, & the bathroom door didn’t close fully.

Nice room in a natural, local inn with helpful staff. Our booking didn't seem to register properly on their system, but they trusted I'd pre-paid and offered us free breakfast in the morning to make up for the room confusion.
Our booking didn't seem to register properly on their system. As a result the twin room we booked was unavailable and we were placed in a double room. This was ok for us but disappointing. They also didn't have record of my online payment so I was prompted to pay at the end. Also, sometimes the downstairs of the inn wasn't staffed very well and we had to wait a while to speak to someone.
