We booked the same day we arrived and so called to confirm. We then called a few more times to change our arrival time. Each time, the response was cordial and welcoming. When we arrived, we had a lovely chat and received great recommendations. Just a lovely experience.

The bathroom was arranged for someone taller. The towels were high overhead and the mirror was high upon the wall. It would be great to have a motion detector nightlight or smaller light without a fan in the bathroom, so we don't wake our partner in the middle of the night. No major issues, just little tweaks.

Lovely accommodation perfect for our family group as plenty of bathrooms between us all. Martin rescued our Christmas get together trip as the property we originally booked in South Hayling was cancelled on us at 7pm the night before we travelled! Martin's property was offered as an alternative and we booked at about 10:30pm giving him very little advance warning of our arrival the next afternoon. Despite this he allowed us a slightly earlier check in so my elderly mum could get in the warm and rest. We were delighted with both cottages and our Christmas trip was saved..

Nothing we didn't like...the wifi was a little "weak" but this had no adverse effect on us.

The location was beautiful but a little bit remote so a car is a must. The room itself was spacious, well equipped and the beds and pillows exceptionally comfortable.

Didn’t like the self service check in and there appeared to be no one available on site to ask for assistance. We were outside for at least 20 mins trying to look for someone as it was evident we needed a code to get through the door. I wasn’t expecting such a palaver to check in if I’m honest as I’ve never experienced the self check in procedure before. Finally managed to contact the owner by phone who was very accommodating and provided us with the access code. Maybe I missed something about the check in procedure but it would be helpful to have information via a text message or email a day before check in so we know what to expect.

The location is superb. The property is quiet and surrounded by farmland and close to villages and an excellent breakfast place at the beach. The kitchen facility is great to have. Access to the courtyard garden is great as well as sitting area outside. The living room corner easily sits 4 adults (we were 5 so one of us ha dot go with a chair).

I would have preferred some breakfast option within the property. The owner told us about an excellent place for breakfast - 5 minutes drive away. The sofa fits only 4 adults.

We stayed in the suite of two rooms upstairs in the main house. The property is an incredibly transformed dairy. It is modern with hints of eras gone past. The two rooms we were sleeping in were nicely decorated with very comfy beds, it was nice and warm (although we all woke up quite cold but it was the coldest night of the year and the heating went on quickly. Something I really did like was the fact there was a tray for your shoes at the bottom of the stairs and the carpets were plush, warming and cosy. the drink availability was great with nice coffee choices and glass bottles of water in each room. The bathroom had lovely body wash, moisturiser and creams in it. The water was lovely and hot too. We paid extra for a continental breakfast which was well needed with high end produce, plenty of choice, lovely yoghurt and a fabulous fruit salad. Coffee and tea The hosts Martin and Helen were incredibly welcoming. we didn’t feel we were staying in a b&b but instead it felt we were staying at a friends home. I was lucky enough to meet two of the hosts children who were well mannered, kind, entertaining and polite. Martin was a very interesting man to talk too about the history of the property too. We didn’t feel in any way that we were intruding (I have felt like this in other b&b’s) and have promised to come back. the deer in the fields behind the property made my day. A stunning place with wonderful hosts. Thank you guys for making our stay so welcoming.

The only thing I think could possibly improve the property is a chair in the second bedroom.

Tastefully decorated and furnished. Beautifully converted dairy. Friendly host. Good choice of drinks and fresh milk. Use of fridge. Warm underfloor heating. Access to apps such as Netflix and BBC iplayer. Free internet. Peaceful surroundings.

Lack of lighting and signage. People opposite coming in late and slamming doors. No staff or reception area. No blackout curtains. Water left in kettle which had heavy scaling. Cushions and throw needed washing. Shower floor was slippery and sprayed onto bathroom floor also making slippery.

Lockgate Dairy is a gem – our first stay in the area. Martin, our host, is delightful and attentive – love him and this beautiful property in this wonderful place. We made ourselves comfortable in a sweet cottage boasting awesome, rustic features, offering lots of quiet space to relax and unwind with everything you might need for a memorable time. Appreciating the kindness in the offer of this unexpected upgrade and local insight given. Very thoughful All being well I look forward to visiting again

An attractive barn style room with a high beamed ceiling. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with very good Egyptian cotton sheets. The modern facilities were all exceptional. The view from the window was varied mature trees and shrubs around patio areas to sit. A nice location within the countryside.

Very friendly and accommodating of our needs. Comfortable beds. Lovely outside space and large bathrooms. Such a good restful place. My thanks.

Only in this very hot weather, I was unable to make the walk in shower cold enough - so water was too warm. Not much of a complaint I hope; it was probably me doing the wrong thing.

room and facilities were excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable and the ensuite was clean and everything was available. One small point was the floor became very slippery after a shower but that was minor.

It was difficult to know where to go when we arrived and because it was raining this was a bit of a problem.
