Loved the historical significance. The location was excellent. Easily walkable to pubs, shops, and cafes. The restaurant/bar on the property was also excellent. Great staff. Our room was very quiet(1st floor). Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and designed well. The staff all around were incredibly nice and helpful. Very pleasant.
Our room was small for two adults and 1 child with luggage.

Our stay was incredibly comfortable. The room was lovely, clean and bright! The bed was very comfortable and the complimentary gin was enjoyed! Laura was especially helpful and kind during our visit. We loved using the steam room as well and the location was wonderful. We didn't realise that there was parking but would have used it had we known.
There were a few hiccups. The first, which couldn't be controlled really, was that the spa pool was not working. While we enjoyed the steam room, it made it more difficult since we could not swap from the pool to the steam sauna. The towels and robes provided were lovely though! The tub/shower in our room did not drain properly which meant we were left in a pool of water while bathing. The other hiccup was that my breakfast order was missing items (I chose from a set menu and part of the dish didn't come out). The kitchen rectified this, but it was a bit tricky and awkward. Also, while they did accommodate my dairy allergy, there was not much in the continental breakfast that I could eat which essentially meant I had to buy the more expensive breakfast.

The staff were all charming and efficient. The continental breakfast was outstanding and set us up for the day! Our room was quite warm but very comfortable and we were thrilled to have been upgraded 😊This hotel was absolutely perfectly situated for our stay enabling us to attend a Cathedral Service, a couple of local restaurants and Chichester Festival Theatre all on foot, without moving the car once!
We managed, but would have appreciated prior warning that the lift was not working during the duration of our stay and beyond (as we later discovered). We consider this is something that could have caused difficulty and embarrassment to some visitors who were, like us, unaware of this fact. We were certainly not made aware of this when making our reservation, although we understood it was in fact a few weeks of routine maintenance being undertaken.

Staff good. Clean. Location nice bathroom. Comp gin! Restaurant food good.
Room small. Not many facilities. Poor storage. Paying for breakfast should be inc. small lift. Paying for car park!

Beautiful property, lovely well appointed room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble.
There was a note left on the bed at the time of check in advising that there was a function at the hotel that evening and that there would be loud music until 11pm. Fortunately myself and my friend were not elderly or a couple looking for some romance- and just a couple of old friends on a shopping & theatre trip so the extremely loud band playing under neath us didn’t trouble us too much, and the music did cease as the time indicated. Whilst it was good to have notice through the note left on the bed, it would perhaps be worthwhile informing guests before they get up to the room.

The Staff are outstanding, all very helpful and actually keen to help, especially Laura who went above and beyond. Some minor gripes but excellent overall. A Great historic Building in a perfect location. Highly recommended.
Car parking is limited and only available on first come first served basis. 1st World problems I know, but do the beds really have to be that high? She Whom Must Be Obeyed was very unimpressed with the lighting or lack thereof at the dressing table; She reports it was hitherto impossible to apply make up sat there in that dim light.

Very pleasant staff and very helpful. We were allowed into the car park just before three, given a warm welcome and shown to our "cottage". This was a special treat to be completely independent. The cottage was cosy and just opposite a lovely park. The bed was large and very comfortable. There was tea and coffee and we were offered fresh milk. It was nicely furnished and decorated. Breakfast was good, the seating was comfortable and there was plenty of space.
I failed to understand that the stairs in the cottage were very steep, and crossing the minute landing to the bathroom at night was a little hairy. We are in our 70s, and had not appreciated the situation. However, it was fine, not a problem, but for many people of our age, or who are less mobile, it could be. It could be good to make this clearer on the site, or maybe I missed it. Parking was great but I suspect could be an issue if you arrived late. As the heating apparently is not put on until 6.30pm, it could be chilly in the winter. There were a couple of very minor issues which I brought up with reception, and they were most helpful.

The cooked breakfast was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner was delicious and service great. The location was amazing. the room was very comfortable and clean. The complimentary Gin in the room is a very nice touch. Tammy the receptionist was very helpful pre arrival and during our stay.
The continental breakfast was expensive for what was available. Although complimentary spa was available, we were only there for a weekend and when we wanted to use it, there had been a leak so we weren´t able to have use of this facility. We did not complain but no allowances were made to discount this from our stay or compensate in any way. No hairdryer in the room available. Hotel parking facility was offered but was full during our whole stay so we were unable to use this and paid for street parking. Again, not compensated for this. Facilities were offered that were not available to us during our stay.

Friendly and helpful staff, on reception and in the bar/restaurant. Very clean room, comfortable bed and good coffee maker with plentiful supplies - the gin decanter a nice touch. Bathroom clean and large with strong shower and quality amenities.
The room was incredibly hot as there was no airconditioning in the bedrooms. The bar was very cool so rather too much time spent there! It was during one of the very hot spells so maybe an air coolers could have been better in the room (the standard fans were not sufficient). In hindsight, it's a pity that aircon was not installed when the property was so beautifully refurbished some years ago - but I guess nobody thought the UK would be subjected to recurring heat waves!

Location was perfect, we were in easy walking distance of the shops, Chichester Cathedral and the theatre, the staff were very friendly and polite. The room was cosy and very comfortable. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the service and food was very good.
The car park at the back of the hotel is on a first come basis, one of the days of our stay we had gone out in the morning and it was full when we returned, however there is a very good car park near-by and both cost the same £10 per day, so it was not really a problem
