Very comfy room and great large comfortable double bed. Great view of sea and Clacton Pier - double aspect / corner room. Very clean and tidy. Very quiet. Great bar and outdoor seating area. Had BBQ and external bar runninng for the airshow weekend. Brilliant. Restaurant and menu was very good, with waiting staff and management very helpful and friendly. Had external secure gatage to store bikes is for you - very useful. Large car park to rear of hotel - parking included in cost. Second visit and would deinately visit again. Thank you.

No complaints. Staff always available if you need anything. Not aware of anyone else having any issues.

we were attending a family funeral - so being most of us being there in 1 hotel was really helpful. the post funeral wake was in this hotel so that made it very convenient

the staff were friendly, but there were occasions where they were under pressure, more staff needed. an there were occasions where they wiped down parts of a table, when it would have been appropriate to clean the full table. The main disappointment has that we were unable to book dinner in the hotel at any stage, but this did afford us the opportunity to explore other establishments in the Clacton area

The food was nice although slow. Plus I asked what pastry the pie was as I can't eat short crust and was told it wasn't, but it was so I had to.leave it but the rest was lovely

Service was slow and they took things away before we had finished. My cousin asked for soft boiled eggs but they were hard and no egg cup was given My room was small and not very comfortable but I appreciate you can't please everyone . I had no towels in my room or a spoon to make tea or coffee and I struggled with the shower.i will ask for a bigger room next time. The staff were lovely though I also had no literature in my room about WiFi or facilities available

Room and bed were fine. Breakfast was disappointing. Evening meal was good.

Breakfast could have been better. Limited choice on buffet section. Cooked breakfast was mediocre but on the second morning poached eggs had to be sent back as they were not properly cooked. When replaced only one egg could be eaten. Then another of the party also ordered poached egg which, again, was undercooked. On arriving at the hotel and booking in I was overcharged but when I tried to tell the receptionist the price I was quoted and confirmed, she insisted that she was right. The following day there was a different receptionist and when I asked her to print out the confirmation email sent to me, she knew exactly why I wanted it and told me I had been overcharged. That was not a good start.

Situation, lovely waterfront position, free parking for residential users. It was in an area I wanted to be for visiting friends. Spacious and traditional building, pleasant room with good bathroom, television in room, comfortable bed.

The bar closed a bit early at 10.30, we were out visiting friends and I was a bit concerned we might have been locked out before midnight! We had a cooked breakfast on one out of three mornings and I felt everything was deep fried and a bit too overcooked. Despite a spacious bathroom there were no hooks for the towels, which we were quite happy to reuse.

The facilities at the hotel are excellent. Good car parking which you book in when you register, very easy. Cheerful member of staff to greet you. We were meeting up with our extended family that evening and all decided that the menu had an excellent choice accommodating our one member of our family who is vegan. The meals were tasty, plentiful and well presented. Full marks to the staff who were so nice. The rooms were a good size, en-suite bathrooms clean a good sized bath towels. The shower was lovely and hot. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The lighting in the room wasn’t adequate to enable you to see to put make up on. Better lighting or a mirror that has a light incorporated would improve this. The pillows were too hard for me but, may be that would have changed if I had mentioned it to the hotel? but, I improvised.

everything was fine . bed was comfortable . room was clean etc. it was very quiet so had a peaceful sleep . nice to see an ironing board and Iron in the room. tea coffee was available . on the whole satisfactory.

the only thing that concerned me was the shower. I did not feel safe standing on the smooth surface of the floor of shower , I felt that i was likely to slip over so never used it . if there was something like a bath mat or raised pattern on the shower base . I 'd feel that I would 've felt a bit more safer. instead i just had a wash down.

The room was a great size and this time the curtains were in good condition ( previous visits the blinds were falling off the windows). The room & bathroom were really clean & the shower had good water pressure. The bedroom laundry crisp & fresh. Tea & coffee facilities available. TV was in a good position and I enjoyed a good undisturbed sleep

The dining area facing the sea is wonderful for breakfast although I find the breakfast itself slightly disappointing. I had to ask for a milk alternative , no dairy free yoghurt. The small pastries had been over cooked & you could grow old waiting for the toaster

Wonderful hotel. Clean, exceptionally well decorated and appointed. Great location right next to the beach. The room was lovely and clean. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was really excellent. Coffee and tea facilities in the room were great - with filter coffee available.

The only downside was that my room was right outside where the beer barrells were unloaded in the morning, so there was a lot of noise at 7.30 am. I mentioned this to reception and asked if they'd therefore let me checkout at 12 rather than 11 so I could get a bit more sleep. That was given to me complementary and no quibbles at all. So I was pleased to be treated like a valued customer.

It is in an ideal location, right on the sea front and as we were visiting family, it’s positioned exactly in the middle of those we were seeing. It has good parking facilities, the room was lovely, a good size and very clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast is also very good and our evening meal also extremely good.

There wasn’t really anything to dislike and the staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve only marked staff rating down one notch (possibly a bit harsh) as one morning at breakfast one member of staff came across as if they really didn’t want to be there. Perhaps too much festive fun the night before.
