The bar was cozy with a menu to suit everyone. Staff were at all times pleasant, friendly and helpful. Breakfast served in a lovely room with views over the garden. This is a boutique, slightly old-fashioned hotel where they do the most to make you comfortable. You can walk to the centre of Coventry along a tree-lined road from the hotel, which was convenient for us. It is easy to get a taxi from the main driveway, and it is a quick trip to the railway station. If you are going to Coventry, the cathedral is worth a visit and you can walk there from this hotel. I would also say it is ideal for receptions: the catering was excellent and the service efficient.

There was nothing not to like.

On arrival it looked a bit like a bombsite but clearly had had a very busy weekend with function plus a busy restaurant and garden due to the lovely weather. once checked in I headed up to the room. as I entered the room seemed dark but that turned out to be a good thing due to the heat ! The room was certainly quirky with a free standing bath close to the bottom of the bed. The room was well furnished and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the room lovely and quiet. The bathroom was okay with a shower but bit small. The bar was fairly priced and had a large garden to enjoy. The restaurant food was delicious and all the staff were friendly. Breakfast again was lovely.

Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful garden areas (even in the rain!) Lovely decor in the communal areas. Polite friendly staff, accommodating as we had to ring to say we were going to be exceptionally later than planned! Great outside seating area. Enough towels for the 3 of us as well as mugs with coffee and tea for more than one cup. Blankets and electric heater, plus fan provided in room

Ceilings need a revamp! The carpet didn't go up to the new tiling so there was a gap in the floor covering. Radiators didn't work. Not enough plug sockets for a modern family needing to charge three phones and have a cuppa! Wasn't impressed with what you got for £10 a head for breakfast, asked for refund for the second day we booked breakfast, which was given.

This is our third time staying at the Jacobean and it's been exceptional every time! The location is perfect for the NEC, and it is one of the most dog friendly places we have ever stayed in. The room and bathroom was large and comfortable - we stayed in a triple room and it was more than perfect for three of us and a large dog. The food and drinks as always were excellent, and this time we had the breakfast which was fantastic. The staff as always were very helpful and accommodating.

Just a couple of minor niggles - The evening menu wasn't reflective of the food on offer, which I wouldn't have minded but the menu was home-printed on A4 paper, so it wouldn't have taken long to print off some more current ones. The public bathroom in the bar needs a freshen up with paint, as there's unfortunate staining on the wall.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good portions. The shower was nice and hot and spacious. The shampoo provided was adequate we we did not run out of it. Hair dryer provided was a bonus. Staff very professonal /helpful and on the ball. Housekeeper asked if we needed towels or anything from the housekeepin which I though was lovely.

A shame that there was not a tiny fridge of some sort in the room as I like to take a couple bottles of sparkling water to bed and it would have been nice if I could have had somewhere to keep them cool. But this is not a big issue as a lot of hotels do not provide this.

The room was fine, everything worked well. We did have breakfast on our first morning and it was very good. Some would say a little pricy but I thought it represented good value for money. Car parking was a breeze, even though it looked tight.

I was surprised that the bar closed as early. This is not a feature I associated with hotel bars. The wood checking feature on the main wall of our room was very effective however it is a bit of a dust trap and needed some attention. This only detracted a little from the overall cleanliness of the room.

Rooms are comfortable and clean. Evening dinner is excellent.

Bathrooms in desperate need of modernising. Also the service at breakfast is extremely slow. On my first morning (7th June) the waiter forgot me so waited 15 mins to place my order, the food then took another 25 mins to arrive. On the 2nd morning (8th June) the food took over 35 mins to arrive so in the end I had to leave without having breakfast in order to get to the exhibition on time. This service is not good enough and needs immediate attention.

We loved our stay here. Check in was exceptionally quick and easy. The staff were lovely and very helpful, and very kind and quick with supplies from a first aid kit when needed. The breakfast (we both had the cooked option) was genuinely really good. We thought it was great value for money, and very comfortable and quiet. All in all a great stay!

We really liked the decoration of the hotel, and loved the hanging chair, though it did bash on the wall when I sat in it, so maybe not very practical.

The room was warm, bright and large, the bed extremely comfortable and the bathroom had the best shower. It was equipped with an iron, hairdryer and coffee making facilities, TV and good WI-FI. The hotel is in the vicinity of walking routes along the river, as well as the park for walks when it is muddy. The best part, however, is the friendly and helpful staff which is the main reason why I would recommend staying there and definitely would come here again!

Shower gel and soap were in weird containers which were meant to be fitted on the wall, but were not, so they were awkward to use. All else was perfect.

The room was very nicely decorated, big bath and nice size TV. Bed was ok, bedframe was a little bit flimsy, but overall had a good sleep and that's the most important thing!

The breakfast was nice, but the toast served with the full English was like a "deep fried" toast or something and it did not leave a good feeling for the rest of the day. The lady at breakfast also forgot my tea that I ordered, but that's ok, she seemed to have been doing 5 different things at once :)
