Met on arrival by our host Richard and helped with our bags, we knew we were in good hands. Delighted with our stay at The Kestrel Inn. Spotlessly clean rooms, exceptionally comfortable beds and super hot and powerful showers. A homely lounge area for relaxing and games (dominoes was our fave!) also where the sensational breakfast with delicious local ingredients is served. Richard went over and above to make our stay a memorable one, his hospitality even extending to collect our soaking wet hiking gear and giving it a blast in the dryer! Highly recommend this wonderful B&B.

The breakfast we had every morning was delicious (a fried breakfast), which was the perfect size for me. Being so close to the Black Mountains, we were lucky enough to have a view of them from the room and we could walk to them from there. The owners were friendly and helpful and were able to make plenty of recommendations of places to visit, local taxi firms and where walk to from there. The owners were flexible with check-in and out which was also appreciated!
The B&B is situated on a part of the road where drivers speed by, so with the window open it could be pretty loud when large vehicles went by. This dies down in the night though so sleeping was not disturbed. With windows closed it is unnoticeable.

From the comfortable sofas in the living room facing the mountains around you, to the clean facilities everything brings the feeling of being in your own country house. Last but not least, Richard your host, is welcoming and quite a foodie so the next morning, the traditional breakfast was the best I ever had, with every single ingredient separately sourced from craft people who do know their trade and prepared at the agreed time. I will be back

Breakfast excellent. Great ambience. Excellent host. Bed comfortable and amenities supplied.
Main road location. Ensuite wash basin very small and awkward to use.

Kestrel Inn is well-sited and overlooks the scenic Cwmdu valley. The Inn and its rooms are clean, warm and comfortable, and the owners are welcoming with much-needed advice on places to visit and things to do. Breakfast was cooked by the owners, which we appreciated greatly, and dinners were found in the historic village of Crickhowell, which is only a 6 minute drive away. The Inn is well-placed to explore Brecon Beacons National Park by car or bicycle, with quiet country lanes starting literally over the road.

Excellent location, great view from the room. Very friendly staff. Amazing cooked breakfast. Felt very welcome. The room was very clean and tidy, there were biscuits and teas on the bedside table.
The car park is on the other side of the road from the Inn and it's a blind corner and cars go fast there, so gotta be careful when loading/unloading the car or having kids there.

Great breakfast and very flexible about timings which was much appreciated.
Soft bed - personal preference only. Would be very comfortable for those who prefer a softer mattress.
