Staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. The went above and beyond along with a complimentary upgrade - so this was really nice.

We had a number of cases and I had to carry them up and down stairs, I know there is a lift, which we did use, but due to it being an older building, the floors were on different levels, separated with numerous stairs. We wanted a hot drink in the room to find that the kettle wasn't plugged in and the only way of plugging it in was to put the kettle on the floor. And after a long journey, my phone needed charging, but there were no sockets near to the bed. I had high expectations of the hotel as it has a good reputation, but premier inns are more convenient to have everything you need in the right place.

Rooms clean and plenty of room Bar served a good varity of drinks Evening meal 3 courses 20.00 wow it was fabulous Breakfast lovely too Staff friendly and chatty The grounds are nice also to sit out and have a drink

Car park very small not enough room for every room especially when staff park there also We arrived a Friday night no where to park but managed to squeeze tight to the wall, and there was just enough room open drivers door. i had to scoot over and get out hubbys side. There are no lines, so everyone parks wide and makes even less space. It's double yellows all around hotel or permit parking.

The lovely periodic building. It was very clean and well presented. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and quick with lots of options. The room service breakfast is a nice touch along with netflix available on the smart TV in the room...but the breakfast area is lovely to sit in too. The location was great, close to the leisure facilities, supermarket and lovely restaurants/ bars nearby. The bar had lots of choice and was reasonably priced along with the hotel where breakfast was included.

The bed was creaky and the wardrobe were loud to close (so much so you could hear other rooms doors), the rooms were really warm even with the window as wide as it would go, a fan on and radiator off in with 10 degrees Celsius outside (but that is better than being cold). It isn't clear on booking.com whether there is a pool but we didn't take swimwear as it didn't say there was a pool (but that would have been nice to use the complimentary passes with the stay if we did know). Don't follow Google maps, you'll miss the turning (there is a sign for which road to turn down). There wasn't much space in the bar to sit (but we were allowed to sit in the reception area which was still comfortable) you had to find someone to serve at the bar after 10pm as the staff left promptly at 10.

Breakfast choices very good. Dinner menu has lots of choices and pricing is good. We enjoyed our dinner. Service at both meals quietly efficient and not intrusive. The bar is very nice with a good selection of drinks.

The room was a little tired and the bathroom needed some remedial work on the bath sealant. You should also check out the drain on the bath as it doesn’t drain quickly enough when the shower is running. The hot tap on the sink needs repair as it takes quite an effort t get it turned on.

A lovely old building & super staff! My room was cosy & and had a comfy bed. Lovely & warm - I even needed to turn the radiator down a little, absolutely fine for a chilly person like me & great to find the whole place warm when I arrived in the snow that evening.

The building shows its age a little - e.g., one cracked floor tile in the bathroom, but that didn't really matter to me at all! I think that the bar area could do with being made cosier & I'd love to have been cheeky enough to offer my way of making scrambled eggs, but I know that for a breakfast chef cooking for numbers of people at a time it's very different to a domestic situation!

All staff were brilliant, just shows if you treat them well, they will stay with you. Service was excellent, even when busy.

Getting to the car park, what a weird set up that is, you spend your time driving round the block trying to find the entrance, thank god for Google maps and other peoples reviews, quick check on the maps and I'd got it. If I was running the hotel, I'd make a point of mentioning this quite frequently, it's no big deal, that's the way the roads are laid out, but to a newbie it's slightly confusing.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The bed was very comfy. Big bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, lots of options. Close to the town.

The giant coffee table I bashed my leg into once I closed the curtains. Would be nice to have netted curtains as well so it's not pitch black. The shower is quite powerful and once on soaks outside the tub if turned on before. There was a very old looking chair in my room which they need to dump. Couple suggestions, mixer tap at the sink. I was disappointed with the big tv not being one I could watch as it just played radio.

Check in was a breeze, staff were lovely and friendly. The room was very nice, incredibly good water pressure and temp for the shower (which, if you have long hair like me, is always a pleasant surprise). Plenty of milk and supplies in the room which is also noteworthy! Food was absolutely delicious, breakfast was excellent and the hotel itself was superb.

A little more temperature control in the rooms would have been good. Despite it blowing a blizzard outside I, like many others I was meeting there, slept with the radiators off and the windows as open as possible and we were still at 'care home' temperatures. Incredibly impressive given the weather and the age of the building, a credit to whoever chose, installed and maintains the heating system! Still, and especially given the current awareness of climate change and energy bills, it seemed like a horrific waste of power, so although having the place warm was beautifully welcoming, a little more control would have been nice.

We liked everything about the hotel, the location was within walking distance of the town our room was excellent as was the dining room and lounge. Lovely food both breakfast and dinner, didn't bother looking in the town for dinner the variety on the menu was all that was needed in the hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful as were the other residents, people obviously come time and time again to this hotel, I don't blame them we shall definitely go again.

Nothing.
