I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming bed and breakfast, and I can't rave enough about my experience! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine smile. The innkeepers went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and ensure my stay was comfortable. The atmosphere of the bed and breakfast was simply delightful. The cozy rooms were beautifully decorated, creating a serene and inviting ambiance. I instantly felt at home, surrounded by the tasteful furnishings and attention to detail. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious homemade breakfast served each morning. The inn's chef prepared a mouthwatering spread of fresh, locally sourced ingredients that surpassed my expectations. From fluffy pancakes to savory omelets, every bite was a delight. It was evident that great care was taken in the preparation and presentation of each dish. The location of the bed and breakfast was also ideal. Nestled in a picturesque setting, it offered breathtaking views and a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I enjoyed leisurely strolls through the well-manicured gardens, taking in the beauty of nature and embracing the tranquility that surrounded me. What truly set this bed and breakfast apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring my stay was memorable. They were always available to offer recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and activities, which greatly enhanced my overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone seeking a charming, cozy, and rejuvenating getaway. Whether you're looking for a romantic escape or a peaceful retreat, this place is an absolute gem. Prepare to be pampered, indulge in delectable cuisine, and create lasting memories. You won't be disappointed!

A beautifully appointed country residence, immaculately clean and set in beautiful countryside. Very comfortable beds and en-suite. The hosts were very welcoming and attentive. The breakfast was outstanding. A group of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would all like to stay again. We would all recommend. Thank you!

Dinner was not available on site but a short drive away led to the gorgeous local pub in Ravensworth - immaculate with a traditional feel (with the lovely fire) beautifully appointed with an excellent bar and delicious food. Would recommend. It certainly added to the experience and the ‘feel’ of the area.

Beautiful house and garden, amazing breakfast and superb rooms, great atmosphere! The staff is very friendly and helpful to recommend places to visit in the area. We were also given the opportunity to make specific requests for our breakfast, which made for a luxurious experience! The Richmond suite is absolutely beautiful and has a breathtaking (bathroom) interior. We left the place with thankful hearts.

The service and staff - we enjoyed our anniversary stay here and they very kindly gave us a complimentary upgrade - thank you again for that. In addition, it was a spectacular manor with a very grand theme, set within amazing grounds with local wildlife. Complimentary cake was lovely as was the sherry(!) and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty with excellent, personable service all round.

Not a lot, but if we had to be really picky - the shower could have been a little more powerful. And it was a little hot in the night - but this was easily resolved by turning down the radiators.

A wonderful, restful stay at this lovely Manor House. It is very conveniently located less than half a mile from the A66, but it is quiet and rural. The hosts gave us a warm, friendly welcome and showed us around the property, which has been tastefully decorated in a traditional style. The room was very comfortable with nice personal touches such as complimentary sherry in a decanter in the bedroom and an honesty bar downstairs. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice including home made granola, berries, croissants, toast, full English breakfast, Eggs Royale, Eggs Benedict etc beautifully cooked. The family also run The Bay Horse at Ravensworth about a mile away, which is a traditional country pub serving delicious food with a selection of fine local cask beers. We couldn’t recommend this highly enough and definitely hope to stay again soon.

Nothing. It was perfect.

The Hotel was a real bonus find and certainly exceeded our expectations. We were made to feel welcome from the outset from both Richard the owner and all the staff we met over the three day visit could not do enough for you, nothing was to much trouble. The location to the Dales was also spot on.

Possibly the fact that you would need to drive or take a taxi if you were going out to dinner or a drink in the evening, as there is nothing in walking distance, although not an issue at all for our stay.

West Layton Manor is a beautiful house which has been restored sympathetically to a very high standard, it offers elegant surroundings with a modern twist. We were greeted at the door by lovely Jill who is a fabulous host & bakes wonderful cakes & biscuits. Breakfast was outstanding offering a wonderful choice & the attention to detail was second to none, their depth of experience was very clear to see. We will recommend to family & friends & look forward to visiting again in the New Year.

Could not fault anything, just wish we could have stayed longer.
