Great location, very handy having a reasonable pub and McDonalds opposite. Aircon was big bonus. Nice Dove soap and. Shower gel. Clean. Tea/coffee facilities with extra to help yourself to.

We have stayed here a few times, this time we noticed that things could do with a little make over. Big rip in the net curtain, carpets could do with a shampoo, walls fresh paint. Rooms deep cleaned, there was cobwebs in ours. It wasn’t awlful but if left much longer will start to be very noticeable. Bed was very hard. We paid £53/night for a midweek stay, which is great value. We paid £120 for a Saturday night stay (not worth that).

The venue provided us with all we needed. B&B. A restaurant and bar with a good range of variety & options in both. The location was perfect for our daily round of golf (5 days). Not so many different establishments close by, for change of scenery but available aplenty with a 5-10 minute taxi ride. Mostly, we stayed in house - no problem. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Would have no hesitation in staying here again. Great value (which we very much check, pre booking).

Little bit of an issue with the replacement of certain items in our rooms and maybe a slight misunderstanding in getting our message clearly understood & carried out. No big problem. Storage room for clothing a touch short.

The rooms are absolutely perfect. Great interior and very spacious. the bath is lovely, deep and very hot. Air conditioning was amazing! The complementary tea, coffee and kettle in your rooms is great. Being able to lay in bed while watching a flat screen TV after a full day in derby is the perfect end to the day. On a night before the restaurant/bar closes, being able to sit in the lovely beer garden with peace and quiet is perfect, felt so relaxed while sipping a lovely chilled fruit cider under the stars.

The only issue we had was the mattress, they are so hard, it feels like you're sleeping on a rock, was abit achy when woke up. Also no fault of the owner/ manager but we had a not so delightful wake up call from a moron smoking in their room and making the full hotels fire alarm system go off. The manager was apologetic even though it wasn't his fault. Hopefully you find out the culprit because it wasn't the best for everyone being woken up to it.

Very convenient stay in a commercial area of derby. Room was comfortable and clean and the personnel welcoming. Breakfast very basic but great for the price! Lots of toys and activities for the little one.

We asked for a cot in the room but it didn't have a mattress..we ended up sleeping with our baby in the big bed with us. We had an extra single bed so it wasn't too bad in the end! There was a bit of a sewage smell from the bathroom, bearable but still not pleasant. These are little things though, all in all we liked our stay, very convenient during the Easter weekend just 30 mins from Peak district walks... we would definitely come back.

The location the staff

We had a disabled room with no light switch inside the bathroom if it couldn't find or didn't work. In a wheelchair it is difficult to get around the bathroom door after you have put the light on in the bathroom. The bathroom switch is next to the main light, so I kept switching n the main light and waking my husband up. The TV kept switching itself on in the night, not sure why. The control was on the table. Also, as it was a disabled room in the bathroom, there was no help to put your toiletries at all, not even when you were in the shower sitting on the seat. I couldn't bend down to get my shampoo, etc, of the floor, so I had to ask my husband to keep passing things to me.

The location was good and value for money. The Tv came on on its own at 4am and my husband went to turn on the light but hit the emergency button by mistake. The night porter was at the door within seconds, so if there had been an emergency he was on the ball which was commendable.

The carvery was not good. It was dried up and warm not hot. The beef was dried up too and very tough. Probably very nice when it was first put out but at 6pm it wasn’t fresh. The gravy was congealed gloop!! The small plate was a good price at £7.99 so it filled a hole. We didn’t eat there the 2nd night.

Good modern well decorated room, with reasonable lighting. The room was clean. I came across few staff, but those that I did were helpful and friendly. Good en-suite bath room, with bath and shower over - my preference. Good car parking provision. I have stayed at this property before, and so it must be reasonable. Value (room only) was reasonable on a Friday night.

The double bed is two single beds pushed together, and I found the mattress too firm for me, and I normally prefer firmer mattresses to softer ones. Checking-in is at the pub opposite, which isn't ideal. Complimentary tea and coffee is stingy in the bedroom, so collect some additional supplies when you check in, otherwise you have to go back over to the pub in order to do this. The bath plug was separated to the chain which should be attached, and it is very difficult getting it out of a bath full of water, when you wish to get out.

Clean room,quiet and felt safe. Pleasantly warm in room but even warmer in winter time ,would be lovely as it was a chilly night in January .Good size room. Helpful staff in at reception in the blue jay restaurant/pub ,helped me carry my suitcase up several flights of stairs as there was no lifts in the hotel Beds were comfortable ,double bed was high as i am petite.i slept on single bed ,lower bed .Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked full English breakfast and selfservice drinks,cereal,toast,cereals,fruit and pastries 24 hour.Mcdonald outside hotel for snacks and Blue jay restaurant do food til 9pm .Cleaners were helpful/friendly in the morning helped me with my suitcase on the stairs.Price was good for the room i was pleased. Dove handwash in dispenser ,nice smell

Location would be the down point.Its not in centre of Derby town, had to pay out for taxis.Not much around except Blue Jay pub/restaurant.and Mc donalds (although a 24 hour maccy d's came in useful late at night for a snack. Lack of lift in hotel. (but staff were helpful on a positive note Rooms could be warmer in winter

A good sized bedroom, which was very clean and bright. There was good lighting, enabling reading and working without eye strain. The en-suite bathroom, with a bathtub and shower over (my preference is for a bathtub, and so this suits me well), was also clean and bright. Everything in the room worked as it should. Good parking provision.

There were no comfortable chairs in the room, and only one chair for sitting at the work desk. There should have been two chairs, as it was a room for two people. The complimentary tea and coffee were very stingy, and as reception was in the pub, there was no easy way in getting more. This should be urgently reviewed. Reception outside the accommodation block is never as good or convenient for guests, as reception within the accommodation block itself. Because of these limitations, the value was only average.

Breakfast was lovely and great value , room was perfect for us and very quiet .
