A lovely place to stay especially for the circuit, evening meal was exceptional all 5 in the party mentioned the quality of the evening meal, the breakfast was also top notch, bar prices where very expensive £27 for 3 pints a bottle of 0% lager and a lime and soda I think I may have been overcharged somewhat. A few issues with the hot water ie there was none but compensated, the rooms have A/C and bathroom fans but none of them work which is a bit bad but still 9/10 for the food and location. We survived and I am sure it will be all fixed for the next time we stay there.

No hot water, no bathroom fan, no bathroom window, A/C in the room but not working.

We were extremely impressed with The Priests House. It is welcoming and very well organised. From check in to departure the service was without exception excellent. The Team is helpful and competent. The room was clean and comfortable. Buffet style breakfast was very good indeed and as a family we had dinner in The Brasserie one evening and the food and service was very impressive ( George was our helpful waiter ). On Reception Seamus , Charlotte ( who got us extra teabags and milk fairly late on our return to the hotel one evening ) and Chloe were very welcoming. We shall definitely return.

Nothing to dislike at all.

We had the best stay, couldn't fault the Priest House. We had booked the afternoon tea, Norman the chef came out with the food and explained all the fillings and what the cakes were. We also stayed for 3 nights with our little dog, made to feel so welcome, all the staff are extremely friendly and it's genuine. The breakfast and evening meals were really delicious, very good quality ingredients, the steak was so succulent. The Priest House was one of the best holiday accomodations to date and we have done quite a few over the years.

The check-in process was very smooth and friendly, with the receptionist able to answer our questions. We had a ground floor room which was great as both of us have mobility issues. The room was spacious enough, clean, and comfortable, the en suite was clean and sparkling, with fresh towels and toiletries. Maid service each day to refresh and replenish stock. Waiting staff in the dining room were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts too, were wonderful (mainly) with a good selection of hot and cold dishes, with limited vegetarian options, and very limited gluten-free, although I did notice gf cornflakes and cupcakes. I would like to thank all the front line staff who made sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

Not so much a case of didn't like, but a couple of areas the management team may want to look at: Free wifi was available but temperamental, and slow, and often kicked the user off-line and having to go through the sign in process frequently. ALthough the food was of great quality, the menu could have been more varied, particularly on Sunday - no toast available for buffet style cooked breakfast, and it was not possible for us to have a sandwich - it was either Sunday roast or eat out.

Clean, nicely decorated and equipped room. Friendly staff on reception and in the bar. Spacious bar/restaurant and lounge areas. Evening meal was excellent quality, great value for money and service was friendly but professional. Great breakfast- freshly cooked to order - my poached eggs were perfect. Gorgeous riverside location at the end of a no through road, plenty of car parking and very peaceful. One of the best nights sleep I’ve had in while - I travel a lot for work and often get disturbed sleep at hotels but definitely not here. Would love to return in warmer weather to make use of the outdoor areas which look attractive.

Nothing!

Beautiful location and history, with ancient watermill and river on site. Our en suite room was in the Cottage a small scenic walk from the main hotel and found this wonderfully quirky and though dated was warm and comfortable. My family had a room in the hotel which was modern, en suite and comfortable. The hotel is excellent if you are visiting Donington race track, which we were, you could hear the cars on the track from outside the hotel. The village of Castle Donington is a 5 minute drive away with many interesting independent shops, bars and restaurants. We ate in the Millsteam Brasserie, the food was hearty and very tasty and the staff were friendly. There was a good selection of hot and cold food at breakfast. Lots of parking near the hotel.

The exterior of the Cottage area was grubby but that could be because of the time of year.

When booking I asked for a quiet room as I'm a really light sleeper and am often disturbed when staying in hotels by other guests doors etc. The hotel emailed me straight away to say they'd given me a cottage room on the second floor (no one above me) On the end of the row of cottages. It was a lovely, clean, well equipped room with everything you needed, not huge but it didn't need to be. Lovely sized bathroom with a big shower. And the bed was so comfortable! I'd love to know what the mattress is. We had a lovely view of the water and the room was wonderfully quiet. We only came as we were at a wedding not far from the hotel but we'd love to come back. Breakfast was also delicious, lots of variety and plenty to eat. Only one minor thing wrong and that was a broken toaster so no toast with breakfast, but that really was minor. When we come again we'd love to eat at the hotel as the food we saw coming out when having a drink in the bar did look amazing.

Quiet warm room with twin beds on ground floor away from main building. Breakfast was included and was exceptional, beautifully cooked to order - a true example of what a full English breakfast should be. There was an excellent selection of accompaniments - cereals, fruit, toast including some excellent brown gluten free bread, wide range of preserves. A wet and windy January evening is not the best time to experience a location, but on a summer day the location beside the Trent and below Donnington Park would be an excellent place to spend the evening with a few drinks beside the river

A wider choice of dinner menu especially choice of gluten free meals, gluten free options were available but only a couple of gluten free dishes that had been designed as such. But few hotels and restaurants cater for people with gluten sensitivities these days.

Beautiful views very relaxing, staff quite friendly and breakfast good.

We paid for a suite while the suite is nice it needs a bit of maintenance. Roller blinds that do not work, heavy curtains on rails that are not strong enough to cope. Would have like more condiments in the room ie bottles of water, more milk and really just abit of TLC in tge suite. I feel that a manager with a good eye for detail would be able to carry this forward.

Lovely hotel and the food was lovely.

Only thing let it down was the table service for the evening meal. Not sure if the girl was new but did not have a clue. Asked for new cuttelery has someone was sat there earlier touching and messing with them. She got some and just dumped on the table. Would have expected these to be changed and set out correctly. If u are going to let people not eating sit at set tables u need to move cuttelery. Reset when someone is eating.
